If there is a Villians Land…a log flume ride with Yzma and Knonk PLEASE. A Haunted Mansion restaurant would be wildly popular in my opinion. The waiting staff, the names for menu items…there’s so much to work with!!!
I think the elephant graveyard from The Lion King could be a cool and appropriate thematic transition from Big Thunder Mountain/Frontierland to Villainsland tbh, if we're going full IP here.
Current leadership at Disney has been making bad decisions. I’m kinda glad nothing has been green lit. Disney needs a big purge, then maybe the new leadership can see Walt’s vision and expand on it.
Excellent idea!!! They seem lost. For example, adding the Hat Box Ghost next to the hallway shows that they don’t even know the story of the mansion. Then, when Vloggers pointed this out, they quickly developed a story to cover their mistake. Anyway, I agree that some folks have lost their way and it’s time for them to go.
@@jeanhealy3132.. The problem being there’s very little good these days.. Nickel and dime customers making us pay more for way, way less than we used to get😔😔 Ever increasing prices for ever decreasing services, ruining much loved things while chasing all things woke just to tick “that” box.. It’s all so sad😔😔
Walt's been dead longer than most Disney staff have been alive, no one in Disney cares about anything to do with Walt he's not even a marketing tool anymore as they have moved the company from being about Disney the man. Disney now is just a corporation like Walmart and most people see it like that other than a group of fans which are a relatively small subset of customers to Disney.
Closing Frontier Land would be a HUGE mistake IMO. Shunning beloved areas of the park would only alienate their core audience, and I think destroy the magic of the parks. I think shutting down splash was also a big blunder.
I feel better about splash, as they had something planned to replace it, and set those plans in motion. Whereas with Frontier & these other areas, they seem to have a lot of ideas, but no solid plans (that we're privy to). Kicking the can down the road, in a way. Disclaimer: May be a bit biased about the new orleans stuff, since we just came back from the resort a few months ago, and would love seeing more of that vibe, in the parks-proper. 35 and never had a beignet, there's no going back, now!
@@craigcavaliere6744 And whose fault is that? The modern media has considered that era deeply problematic since it revolves around white settlers encroaching on native lands. Kids aren't identifying with that era like they used to because it's being shunned or presented negatively by the adults that influence them. Meanwhile when someone actually presents that setting with care and a hint of the romanticism that the western genre is known for, it becomes wildly popular - the Red Dead games are proof of that.
The fact that Disney was/is considering removing or “retheming” a core land such as Frontierland, shows you just how lost this company is right now… it’s a shame
I’ve always wanted to experience the conceptual Mount Fuji roller coaster. They’d never do that of course. Can’t build anything new without incorporating IPs somehow.
After 25 years or more of talking about it, can Disney please just do a villains-land or villains park? It always gets a big, positive response when they throw that idea out there.
Im the only one who isn’t waiting a vilain land ? I dont like the idea. I would prefer a new theme land like american water front with the lake or arabian coast at Tokyo Disney Sea with a big dark ride of Aladdin, or an expansion of fantasy land !
@@RipAir1 That would be bland and boring! The villain's land however is better because, it would be thrilling and better! Not a boring bland American land! I love the villain's land idea! The villains need some love too! Have you ever thought about that!? The villains have no where to call home! Except for Gaston! The evil step sisters have no where to call home! Why don't you reconsider your comment!
Surely the obvious imagineering theme for Frontierland would be Radiator Springs. They could easily use a lot of the theming but totally regen the area
It took them how many years to build Tron? 5? EPCOT has been WALLCOT for how many years? 4?I have been a huge Disney World fan for most of my life but I have to say that Disney has lost its way.
While you have a great point, have you ever seen what happens when you build too much too fast in Roller Coaster Tycoon or Sim Theme Park? It’s game over lol
Disney always have a rep for changing things up all the time at the last minute. I know some people that work with subcontractors and they say Disney is a nightmare to work with because of this. Not to get off subject but I was waiting in a 60 minutes standby line at Haunted Mansion this evening and I was a little upset that they were only loading every other buggy. I noticed the individual lightning lane was just as long as the standby. It had me thinking that maybe they do this to inflate the wait times so guest would be manipulated to buy individual lightning lane or Genie+. Idk, maybe I'm overthinking 🤣
I think keeping Frontierland and having a huge Villains land makes more sense. Doesn't virtually every disney IP have a villain in it? It's kind of their formula for stories. They could put virtually any IP there.
Moving some IP to other non Magic Kingdom parks to drive some people to the other parks makes sense. Driving some people to Animal Kingdom and lessening Pandora being the "anchor" is a great idea. Just add a Villain's land to MK and freshen the park up, maybe add a beignet cart near Tiana's but theme it well.
Imagine if someone in Imagineering wtih ambition decided out of the blue to revive the concept of Thunder Mesa and the Western River Expedition (adapted to modern sensibilities). That would be unexpected.
You do such a great job reporting these types of things, even with rumors and with the situation being fluid. I understand you aren't necessarilly into rumors but if they're relevent, you do a good job fleshing them out and letting people know that they're rumors or that the situation is fluid. It's very responsible reporting while still keeping people in the loop. Great job.
Great video. IMO I think they are right cancelling Encanto and Coco and keeping the classic Frontierland. An all-new Villains themed land, suoerinmersive with cutting edge tech rides is what MK needs. On the other hand Tropical Americas for AK looks very promising.
I don't think disney is going to greenlight anything for a long time. And they might change the plans completely. Get a move disney... until then.. I'll be at Epic Universe over at universal orlando.
I agree with a previous commenter who suggested that a Cars Land would be a good thematic fit behind Thunder Mountain Railroad. It would be great for children and could be accessible by riding WDW Railroad. It would be wonderful if they had enough space to do a Villains Land attached to Haunted Mansion and a Cars Land Land behind BTMR and also put a small New Orleans Square including Tianas Restaurant. It’s just a thought, but another idea is that Tom Sawyers Island and the river around it could be rethemed to the New Orleans Swamp and Bayou seeing as how it appears Disney is trying to use existing real estate while updating its parks. I have also given some thought to how Disney has added PANDORA, TRON, RISE OF THE RESISTANCE, and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. These are some next level rides that show that sometime in the past they were trying to develop cutting edge unique but themed rides that filled a niche need. Here to hoping they can get back on track.
@@jeanhealy3132I’ve always felt that they will eventually put cars land into that back corner by the animation section and use it as a connection between sunset boulevard and Toy Story land
Disney could have avoided all the confusion about Frontierland if they had left splash mountain alone and built a New Orleans square on the far side of the haunted mansion and put a new Tiana attraction over there, easy
WOW-some GREAT news!! Especially with the music!! I was fearing it will be an out of the can produced score..instead of either incorporating or give at least a nod to older EPCOT -themes like : Horizons, Journey into Imagination.., Tomorrow's child... And of course Illuminations 25!! I really HOPE they will GET IT RIGHT this time! Fingers crossed!
Given how popular Disney villains are to the fans I’m shocked it’s taken this long for Disney to make a land for them! I do like how they would be just behind fantasy land and right next to the haunted mansion, this really would be such a popular and great spot for it and a transition would be seamless! Please Disney listen to the Fans!
If they end up with a double sized villain's land then that is going to be much better than a southwest land with Encanto and Coco. Don't go cheap with Villain's land, make it bleeping awesome, because it can be
im confused on what the parks and its leader is doing. theyre throwing IPs all over the place not considering the overall parks theme and ideas. is originality dead? no regular ideas that made imagineering what it is. they need an IP as a backbone for every idea it seems
Let me get this straight, Splash Mountain was deemed controversial and offensive so they “had” to Re theme the attraction. Now that the SM is being re themed the whole land has to be re themed. Which boils down to ticket hike, lay-offs while Iger draws in $78k a day. An attraction being controversial was a smoke screen
Really interesting on the Luminous music update. I wonder if the executives are spooked after both rivers of light and harmonious where softly received and did not last
Why is this so hard for them? Leave frontier land alone. Put New Orleans past Big Thunder. Retheme Big Thunder or leave it alone. It started awkward, it can stay awkward. Doesn't matter. Connect the walkway to New Orleans. Connect New Orleans to Haunted Mansion (duh). Use it as a gateway to Villians land. This wouldn't even be an issue if they had given Tiana her own ride and put it past Big Thunder, instead of giving her some other rides hand-me- downs. They screwed this up so royally
The fact they pulled the music from the new show is hopeful to me. I feel like they know the gravity of the show and want it to be a win. ....and they already know the cost of what happens when the don't get it right.
The rumor-mill has it for Frontierland…. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be re-themed to Moana’s Mine Train Adventure! Doesn’t make sense to me thematically but they needed a refresh to fit the ideology of DW today and IP insertion so there ya have it. Moana’s Mine Train Adventure! opening late 2024
Well that's encouraging! RU-vid actually suggested this for me- I normally have to go find the latest Mickey Views. (grrr) Although mom made us wait 7 months after WDW opened for our first visit (magnificent beyond any description in 1972 Florida) Frontierland was already dated- kids my age didn't really play cowboys and indians anymore... But it was sort of a comfort area.
IMHO the best attractions at Disney have no movie IP at all. They're pure attraction. Country Bears, Tiki Room, Motor Speedway, People Mover, Carousel of Progress. Two of the best, Pirates and Haunted Mansion spurred their own movies much later, but they were original pre-IP attractions.
As much as I know people want Frontierland to be saved, it really is a shame they can’t connect Tiana to the Haunted Mansion. Those two rides belong in New Orleans!! Obviously that’d still leave Big Thunder out, so I think they should leave Coco for behind Big Thunder and make that a small desert land that then transitions into Villains. That way the AK expansion can just focus on South America instead of trying to combine Central and South. They deserve their own areas in my opinion.
Disney needs to do three things: One, improve maintenance so that there is more time on the current rides. Two, update the current rides, as needed, to be state of the art. And three, add more rides to increase capacity thereby reducing wait times. Spending tens of millions of dollars retheming rides, like Splash Mountain, is simply bad use of limited available funds.
Disney needs more Dark Rides. More people eaters. Get the people off the walkways and into rides. Doesnt make sense to me to expand with new lands and add only two MAYBE three rides that can be found at a passing carnival. Just saying.
It’s wild how New Orleans at Disneyland will have 2 refurbishments with the new restaurant, a new plaza, and a expansion outward to meet Tiana with that new haunted mansion queue and gift shop. Meanwhile nothing has been greenlit relating to New Orleans at Disneyworld and Tiana will be on a Frontierland island It’s Insane! I genuinely believe Tianas was green-lit for Disneyland first with the idea of refreshing New Orleans alongside it, and they’re just updating MKs splash with the idea they had for DL without really thinking it through
My thoughts exactly! Disneyland's plan is definitely more cohesive and thought through. Either that, or Disneyland Park management/imagineers are less hesitant to greenlight things compared to WDW indecisiveness making things appear slower.
To add to that MK shut down first so common sense would be it would open sooner so seems strange there hasn’t been any talk of changes or retheming around it.
Thanks for the info! I did predict a while ago they would only do the square you talked about so I guess I seem to be correct. I have been a fan of the channel since I’ve been really young and take lots of inspiration off you for my channel!
Disney needs to get their stuff together. They are all over the place!!! I don’t get why they don’t create a master plan and then execute it as circumstances allow.
Tiana’s Place Restaurant with a quick service as well and do Coco and Encanto past Thunder Mountain. I want a Villain’s Land with. Maleficent Dragon Coaster🤯
I’m sick of Disney inserting IP in their parks for cheap attractions. What happened to Original Concepts? Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, and Thunder Mountain, just to name a few, are some of the most iconic and memorable rides in the parks and they are all original. I don’t want Moana, I don’t want Coco, I want creativity and originality… you know, what Disney was once all about?
They have no idea what to do and my money is on most of this stuff never happening. If they had something concrete they would actually announce it and not say "oh we're thinking about it"
100 % disappointed Disney needs to update all parks little by little and that includes changing Frontier land and Liberty square and add the frozen themed stuff into the Tom soldier island
EPCOT show delays save them a lot of cash while the show is not running. Reworking of the music is a convenient way to save cash, not an added expense. Smoke screens at full.
I agree with you Brayden. I still like the idea of a Coco retheme in Mexico/EPCOT. If Encanto and Indy go to AK, I could see a South American tie in that would still somewhat work, possibly with animals from said region. The more property for Villains land at MK the better as thats what most fans want. Which leaves Hollywood Studios. It needs a whole PIXAR section. Cars Land, Monsters Inc. Door coaster, and Incredibles. Just daydreaming 😂😊
Why do they feel the need to ruin an existing land that is wonderful as it is and replace it, rather than develop the unused land to provide something new and original? Country Bears is iconic and Pecos Bills is our favorite quick service on the property.
