We have a Disney trip planned for Sept 2025, we've only been twice before. Big Thunder is my son's absolute favourite ride. If it's going to be down for over a year, we just may have to push our trip out further. Thanks for the updates.
Haha good alternative to lighting your money on fire. We honeymooned at Disney in 1986, and although I make a lot more money than I did then, we can barely afford a satisfactory trip. Our honeymoon we spent 5 nights at contemporary with "deluxe" meal plan, and then 5 nights at Polynesian (my fabulous bride didn't know about the second 5 nights😅). I recently priced what that would cost now, and it almost gave me an aneurysm. So sad Disney has become so profit grubbing.
I can only think of 3 things that say HEARTLAND. 1. Giant Barn & Farmhouse 2. Something iconic to the heartland. Tornado 3. Pickup trucks with fishin poles
So you are telling me they can't figure out which attractions are more popular without the "data"? Take a walk around the park and look at the lines, at people's faces, that is your data. They do this to get more money, that's all.
There should be a family discount . I refuse to buy a ride 🤷♀️. I’ve started to come and not do rides . Hate all the preplanning except Dinning reservations.
Thank you Brayden for putting in all this work researching, compiling footage, and presenting all the data for us. My wife and I look forward to watching your content for this exact reason. We had a number of moments where we paused your video in order to discuss what you mentioned because we couldn't agree with you more. We enjoy the Disney theme parks and strive to go often; whether it's once a year or whenever a new attraction has opened up. But Genie+ was a horrible idea and this new version of Lightning Lane is looking to be not much better. Sure they brought back some of the positive features of the previous fast past, but why do we still have to pay? We're already paying a decent amount of money to go to your parks and stay at your resorts, all of which haven't added much in the past couple of years. A new attraction here and there, sure, but a couple of those new attractions aren't worth it. A $20 premium price to skip the line on Tron, an attraction that isn't "new" and is underwhelming to the lore of the franchise? Come on... Guardians and Flight of Passage are cheaper and have better quality and features. It's just sad to see this continue to happen when you have a competing company building a whole new park. Allocate the profits from the parks back into the parks instead of failing films, shows, and merch and make the park going experience better and more enjoyable.
Disney isn’t for theme park lovers it’s for people who like Mickey and taking pictures of their food. It’s basically an overpriced county fair now. It’s dirty, you have to pay to get in, pay again to get on rides, overpriced mediocre food, the staff is hideously underpaid, and maintenance is sketchy. Where exactly is the Disney magic now? It’s a bad value AND a bad experience.
The slow down for regular lanes is so real! I went to Hollywood studios for the first time in several years back in December. It was later in the evening and I had time for one more ride. I wanted to try the Mickey’s railroad ride because I had loved the great movie ride and I wanted to see what they changed it to. I was in line for an hour and forty five minutes because they were only letting lightning lane people through. They let one party of stand by guest in every 15-20 minutes then you had to wait another 20 minutes before they let in again only one party. ONE PARTY! It was awful standing there watching hundreds of guests in lighting lane go by as the rest of us waited and waited and waited for just one party to be let in. The ride was okay but I don’t think I’ll be riding it again until I go with my own kids years from now.
I hate this. We spent the past 3 years figuring out Genie + and now we have to start over. Sometimes you want to wait until you get to the park to see how busy it is before you buy Genie +.... now that's not an option. Literally NO room for spontaneous moments.
I mean honestly, I think Multi-Pass/Single-Pass is an improvement. It’s definitely a problem that you still have to *pay* so much for this service that used to be free, but it seems like the new version takes the “best” of Genie and FastPass Plus and puts it together with much needed clarified/simplified language. And the app interface seems a bit better? Not sure exactly sure yet but I’m looking forward to seeing it in action. (I’m also happy that the Disney Resort hotels finally have some more perks 😎)
The orignal process of free fast lane passes was best. I do not like being tied to my phone because I miss so much going on in the park. I guess I am old fashioned but I just want to have a day in the park without work and phones remind me of work.
Why is it ok for Disney to stoop down to Universal’s level? I thought Disney was the “industry leader” in themed entertainment? Also, Universal’s very expensive skip-the-line system doesn’t penalize the everyday guest in standby as much as Disney’s does because it’s used by way fewer people.
Things will never change for the better until people stop going or being fooled into buying all of the extra add-ons. Used to be a diehard fan who would go very often. Havnt since 2019 and don't plan on going back until the nickel and diming stop. With the parts constantly full, this just validates Disney's decisions and keeps them making billions! Sad.
Worked in biggest casino in the world, when tables were packed, the minimum went up . 10. $ games could be 25.00, 50.00, + per hand. Simple. Supply and demand. Everybody in the world wants to go to wdw. So, it’s simple. Anybody in business does it. Cheap outdated motels in northeast in a lake tourist area get 500+ per night. And people pay it. Have money? Get room on beach. Simple. Been same since 1900. Open a business, you’ll see yourself doing same………..
Let’s all hope that Walt Disney World and the Disney company returns to the values of its founder, Walt Disney. I hope and pray that there is some leader for the company that can embody the wholesome American values that the company was found in upon.
That's why people need to stop going to these big amusement parks like Disney for instance. Because all they care about is money and getting involved in politics. There are tons of great amusements like six flags and similar ones. That will be just as fun to go to with your family
Why doesn’t anyone complain about Universal’s $400 up charge to skip the lines. Or 6 flags or magic mountain? I think you’re just looking for an excuse to come after Disney
To me this all feels like they are double dipping. If I don’t pay the extra fee to ride I’m getting almost nothing for the ridiculous admission price already. Then when you do buy these you get locked out of rides because there is no time slots left!! I bet Walt is spinning in his grave at what is happening.
I’m an annual pass holder but still loved planning my day. It was nice to just go to the park and not look at my phone and I could do everything with my Magic Band. The Kiosks were great and though it was hard to book one or two rides, I didn’t mind waiting in Standby. Now, I pay money, and I’m expected to pay more money for the top tier rides, and the prices change daily. It’s all so frustrating, but I get it. I just miss the paper fast passes and the FastPass Plus systems bc I felt I was getting more and I wasn’t constantly staring at my phone to plan the day.
International visitors are not able to do this until they arrive in the US. The ability to book 30/60 days out has been removed. What availability will remain if you can’t book until the first day of the trip?
For the vast majority of WDW guests, there is a budget - unless you got that brand new shiny credit card with that wonderful high limit w/25 percent interest. Then lets assume there is a budget, if you pay for this, something else has to give - its simple. This is just stupid. To continue to beat, my head against the wall - I really should quit.. But, WDW has spent more time and resources in taking things away - then offering anything for the guest experience. We used to be a family to go every couple years.. Now, nahhh, why should I be paying more in something that is already an expensive trip - simple. Ya wanna know why Dollywood is building in popularity.. Its really not rocket science, people..
Oh how I long for the days of free Fastpasses (and the absence of skip the line services altogether). If money is really all they care about, then I would rather them just raise park admission prices by $10 for everyone and do away with skip the line services entirely. I feel like it would dramatically simplify and improve daily guest experiences and Disney can still retain their averaged per-guest profit “gains” they’ve been reporting.
