I know I say this a lot, but Dan does not coast. Dan is always looking to make his content better, and it shows. Seems like every week Dan has done something new with the channel that really impresses me, and today it's "Kris gets to join us in live action content via a PNGtuber avatar on this monitor I've set up".

I love that we have a new format in which Kris can appear in live action content and I love when his model flips vertically to look around in bafflment/horror I've dodged all info about Forspoken save what was mentioned on BTD so I'm excited for this

I've noticed a bad trend in games recently now that you've pointed this out. It's becoming a bit of a lost art to make enemies that are interesting to fight. You can make the most interesting combat system in the world (Not that Forspoken seems to have one) but it doesn't mean ANYTHING if enemies just do nothing or you can't really interact with them beyond just dodge and attack.

So I mentioned this over on KZ's thing, but Forspoken is a game about a black woman who's a criminal street urchin facing jail time until she runs afoul of a gang that burns her house down which leads her to getting isekai'd into another world where she's facing jail time for being a witch or whatever the fuck, and then the second black woman we meet is also a criminal street urchin. Like guys come on

In all honesty though: TV writers, why? Imagine for a moment: The Big Bang Theory. A video game is, on average, 12-20 hours long, which is around how long Forspoken is. Imagine a single episode of the Big Bang Theory being 20 hours long. With no canned laughter. No window dressing. You can't reasonably write a video game like that-- Oh..wait, High on Life exists. With a 9/10 on Steam somehow. Nevermind then, I guess...

I was trying to figure out what the banter between fray and vambrace reminded me of and then I figured it out. It's like kaine and grimoire Weiss from nier, but if they genuinely despised each other. I really like how you have this set up. Kris reminds me of the vtuber neighbors you were talking about in that sitcom you where making up during kirby.

Absolutely love the new format. It sounded from twitter like you'd managed a good workflow, hopefully it's not too hard to keep up for the future. Really love the multi-cam set up from the Gears Ranking, but I had kept thinking, "this looks and feels great, but I know it was a lot of hard work, so I won't expect it often." Keep up the great work, guys. (Also, please stop letting Luminous make games.)

God, this video format for the spoilercast is so good.The visual feedback we get from it, which wasn't possible in the audio only format, makes it so much more enjoyable. Especially seeing visual representation of mechanics, like Dan did when he was talking about fighting the dragon.

With everyone talking about how unlikable Fray is and her horrible character development. I'm reminded of Neku from the world ends with you. A character many HATED early in the game due to how much of a jerk he was. But he actually had great character development that by the end you cared about him rooted for him to succeed.

It's really funny final fantasy 15 is actually in my top 5 final fantasy games because running around with the boys was actually really fun for me and forspoken would have been soo much better if Frey and cuff had good dialog when running around cause the landscape and moving around it was fun but that's kinda it

Kris is abosulutely correct about the demo I played that on normal and quit after like 20 minutes purely because it was non stop, at one point I had almost a minute straight of one liners to each other, I watched kzs stream and it felt much more like a normal video game companion there

One of the things that really put me off forspokene was that a lot of combat stuff felt like it had no impact. Like hitting things with wet tissue paper. I already didn't like the FF15 combat..and this felt a bit too similar. Yoshi P hiring Ryota Suzuki (Devil May Cry 5 combat director) to handle the FF16 combat was a galaxy brain level move!

What a bummer. I love Final Fantasy XV and I was really rooting for this team's first big game under their own banner. I hope this doesn't sink them, but they really need to figure their shit out. Also: love the new format! I'm not much of a podcast guy, but I do love putting videos like this up on a second monitor. This style reminds me of a way more thoroughly-edited RLM. Love it.

@@JoelBurger Nah I thought it was fun. Fun doesn't have to be good. *Devil's Third slowly fading in* The enemies have terrible damage values and dodging not being rewarding is terrible design, but I didn't hate playing the game, just everything else around it.
