I love your common sense and intentional way. Would you perhaps consider doing a feeder pig, grow out series? My first year and I'm all about learning all I can with my IPP's.
RuthAnn we are so blessed with your channel! You are a blessing to families. I am now in my mid 70’s and still learning from you. What I enjoy is your down-to-earth days that you show us. Don’t ever change that.
This is my 2nd or 3rd time watching this video. I ordered the zinc from Now products and have them stored with my canning supplies. When green beans come in this year I will can green beans with you. I’m a diabetic so I can’t eat corn as often as I wish I could. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of canning and gardening with us. May God bless you and your family greatly!
I think your family is precious! Nobody likes to work but you talked before about teaching your children how you be the example and the children follow your example. Doing the sauce I saw the little ones wanted to help! Awesome!
How do you know how long and how much pressure? I miss my Papaw’s canned green beans almost as much as I miss him and my Mamaw. This is a way I want to remember him, so thank you for this and all of your other videos. You’re awesome!!
You left your green tomatoes out. That got me wondering whether you make pickled green tomatoes? That's a multigenerational tradition in my family. At least 4 of my aunts made them, and I even remember my grandmother making them. She grew up on a farm in Slovakia, in theckare 1800’s, and passed on when I was only 8 years old.
Looked like a nice harvest I haven't had a chance to go back and look at any of you videos but I did check your about box and found out that you were from Northern Iowa. I'm in north Eastern Ohio we haven't had a frost yet but it's getting much chillier at night so the time I'm sure is coming. We moved this year so we didn't have a garden and I have missed it.
@@Ruthannzimm we moved into a different zone so our average frost is between the first and the 15th where I was from before it was from the 15th to the 30th and sometimes could push it a little further I know you can also but I didn't expect that early of a frost in your area of the country
Love the zinc tip! I already put up 60 quarts but still have a bean patch producing and will try this. Have you canned frozen green beans? I have leftovers in the freezer andi am wanting to thaw them and can. Just wondering if you have done this? I love your videos.
The piglets aren't the only ones growing on your farm! Is Mitch as tall as Dad already?? 👀 Ruth, you really do well with your short season there. I can usually keep a few tomatoes and peppers going until January here. We were a week into January this year when I picked our last fresh tomato for a salad this past winter!
I love watching your videos! I think your little yellow tomatoes might be Sun Gold variety. I had some last year and every one snacked on them . They are prolific growers !!
Have you ever tried using you last cucumbers to make what we call Christmas pickles some call them cinnamon pickles..using RED HOT CANDY, CINNAMON STICKS..soaking rings in lime?? Your kids will love them
Carolyn, I found a recipe that sounds similar for pickling watermelon rind. I did a small batch, but I felt like it needed more of something. It wasn't very pickle-y or cinnamon-y and tasted nothing like watermelon. If I ever try cinnamon pickles again, I think I'll find a new recipe. Does your recipe come out hot or cinnamon-y?
@@marilyncausey9348 look up Ms lippy Utube channel in her playlist under canning and preserving you will find a 3part video..I've made them from cucumbers and watermelon rind.. it's a VERY EASY 4 day process worth it.. I've made them for year's only I add more red hots than she does.my family always expect them for Christmas..takes why we call them CHRISTMAS PICKELS..once you taste them you will want to make them every year..hope this helps.. blessings ❤️
R all of the Children yours by birth. Well I know one little boy is not. I don't been to sound rude. Just don't think you look old enough for all those kids. Really I don't. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fantastic harvest! I am so happy for you and your family 😁 I really enjoy your videos. I came across you on Instagram. I follow Jessica from 3 Rivers Homestead and she brings your name up a lot. So happy to be following you. Thank you And yes...God is good ✝️
