As Bowser, Leon usually capitalizes on playing on the opponent's fear, but Marss is the most fearless Ultimate player in the game. Great set from both players!
Leon capitalizes on people hitting his shield then pressing Up+B or side B. Marss just played the set incredibly well and gave Leon sooo few of those opportunities. Also, bowser is such a good ledge trapper, but ZSS just has a stupid amount of mix-ups making it easier to get up off ledge
@@zsoliddanys1083 To be fair Marss just 3-0 leon. Also that was 7 months ago and Marss is a different beast now. Leon might of defeated him once but the meta has grown and ZSS has been explored and optimize quite a bit while bowser pretty much been fully explored.
@@rafikirana2468 not anymore, he plays wario wolf and occasionally Roy. He's dropped everything else (pt, young link, joker, banjo and probably some other characters I'm forgetting)
Just like Cosmos from Smash and Splash, Marss got his redemption from Defend the North 2019. Man, it looks like either Marss adapted a hell of a bunch or LeoN is getting washed
@@buffmastaflexx what do think mu is? Like plus 2 for ZSS I mean she has tools to zone out bowser, moves that're safe againsf bowser oos options, and generally just combos bowser hard. Plus bowser can't really ledge trap ZSS due to ZSS various ledge options. I mean we saw that marss was playing at ledge and that's typically where bowser excels at and leon couldn't do much. This is a good example of the bowser ZSS mu since they're the characters top reps what are your opinions?
As a bowser main, i can feel how bad the mu is. But Leon played this incredibly despite the loss. As a bowser its incredibly hard to approach chars with great options against you such as zss so well done to both of these players
Leon plays bower just like 90% of the other bowers I see online. Sits, waits in shield, and either side + b or up + air. His opponent obviously capatilies on this and grabs the sh*t out of him.
Leon missed three opportunities for early combos because marss mashed out. As a bowser main, this is the kind of stuff you should always be looking for.
Me when I watch sets: *Sees favorited player and roots for them the entire set* Me later: *Sees other player getting bodied throughout the set and begins to place myself in their shoes and feel bad for them, and starts rooting for them instead*
Defense options in disadvantage is what really separates smash from other fighting games. Don't remove defense mechanics. If the opponent mashes out, you have to throw sooner- not remove mashing from the game
@@Chizypuff It's not a defensive option. It's a type of input, specifically one that advantages people who can still afford to ruin their wrist. Any number of things could replace it. Which would be good, because a good masher can nullify buries and grabs that last longer than a third of a second.
@@nathanlevesque7812 and DI is a type of input that punishes people that can't react fast enough. Buries shouldn't be free punishes anyways imo, and grabs I'm pretty sure you can still buffer a throw before it's physically possible to mash out
That just matchup, leon is the best bowser, but playing a heavy vs a zero suit is a 10-0 matchup you are just combo bait vs a top tier combo character.
Isn’t it weird that Leon goes by Marss now and plays Zero Suit while Marss goes by Leon now and plays Bowser? It was especially weird since the player cam for each person and their information was mixed up. In all seriousness, as much as I wanted Leon to win, congrats to Marss for the victory. It was a hella solid win.
