Fuschia is one of my absolute favorites in the garden! Yeah, in California, we get to enjoy blooms all winter long!!

I live in the same general zone as you, Tara, but a bit closer to the delta, so usually a few degrees warmer. This winter has been so mild that I've been able to grow peas, beets, a lot of brassica, and fava beans, of course. Judging by the volunteer potatoes that are thriving, I should have planted potatoes too.

He had temps down to 19 degrees for three days in a row. I used my Green stalk covers and it was just too cold. I lost all my cold weather plants. Carrots, Tomatoes Thumb peas, lettuce, pepper, peppermint….😢

@@GreenLove1 it doesn’t normally get that cold for that long in central Texas. Waiting to see if at least carrots bounce back. I’m afraid to plant my strawberry starts.

Have you tried overwintering bell peppers? Would love to hear your experience

I have not tried overwintering bell peppers, but in general I have about a 30% success rate when I over-winter peppers. I've had better luck just leaving them where they are and covering them with something rather than digging them up and taking them indoors.

@@GreenLove1 I thought mine would be ok in the green stalk with the frost cover. Nope. Maybe if I put Christmas lights inside or something to keep it warm. The stalks on my pepper plants were really thick, too. Hoping maybe the roots were affected and the plant comes back.

@katharvey7324 fingers crossed... they might come back 🤞
