This definitely would explain better Iduna ending up in Arendalle. I wondered why she got into the cart. She must have had a family that she just left behind for a stranger.
she never did a soldier put her in the cart and there was to many people around the cart to get out she was looking for her mother until she had to help the boy
Orsy Godri I think she got in the Cart because Mattias thought she was Arendellian ( I guess that’s how you say it ) since she was wearing a cape from Arendelle.
@@aryy5203 In the movie. In the Prologue, Mattias* is carrying both Agnarr and Iduna. Iduna actually seems to be Arendellian here. She's wearing what looks to be a cloak of Arendelle. The guard spoke to her as if she belonged with them.
Mayor Le Birb The Duke of the Nest I just liked that they went more into the story of the war and the history between iduna coming to arendelle etc etc
The main Idea of the movie is to find the voice means Elsa couldn't find who is she really are the one she's finding is herself. why is she's finding herself? It's because the Lie that created by their grandfather. It's just that. The main reason why they deleted scenes? Because too many scene cause confusion and distraction. And peoplewill hard to understand specially kids boys and girls. Use our sense guys. We are not the screenplay & director
@@thelonelystargazer6651 i dont think so. Disney just didnt want a toooo long movie. Thats why they changed the plot. The hooded figure was probably the 5th spirit before become elsa. Just this.
@@jmbytes0729 did you just not watch the scene.... It was cut because it had plot details that weren't included in the final cut...not bc kids can't understand
in my opinion, if they have added this scene from the movie, then it would have felt more like the classic Disney movies, were there are dark elements added to the usual fun, musically-filled tone of it.
I mean good lord they killed Elsa AND Olaf in this film, covered colonialism and revisionist history and tackled very heavy mental health issues. You dont need a horned reindeer dude and dark colours to be dark. Concepts can be scary too. As much as I LOVE this scene. 😍🤩
@@robynwilson9227 they kind of glossed over it in my opinion. If you watch older Disney films like the Lion King or Mulan the tone is much darker than Frozen 2
Just seeing Iduna's expression at the end of the clip is already pushed you over the threshold. And this is a rough animatic, imagine how powerful it can be if made into full detailed animation.
Hope they make the third one about Queen Iduna and King Agnarr's love story. And also about Kristoff's parents in the way. There might be a high chance of Kristoff being a Northuldran and *maybe* Iduna's parents migh've known Kristoff or at least their parents. This is just a theory tho. P.S. imagine them being in the same family, that means Anna (will) marry her cousin ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I agree, but I'm not gonna lie I loved it when christop sang lost in the woods, but they did have a really cute song in another deleted scene where christop is trying to propose but just can't get the right moment, so Anna proposes to him instead.
@@meepmeep749 I got totally sucked OUT of the movie at that scene. That was the point where I stopped taking it seriously and really started to dread that the rest of the movie wasn't going to hold up. I was right.
@@victorstr9396 I wouldn't say better, but different. This seems like an entirely different story than the one that was given to us, and this scene alone does introduce new stuff, especially the hooded figure which can transform from a man to a reindeer, whose introduction might make the story even more complicated. They just went with a simpler story line in regards to the battle of Northuldra and Arendelle.
@@EironKyle I said it is better because I don't even consider the movie presenting a good story at all. The way it glorifies magic to be a righteousness that anything standing against it is evil, disturb me. What the forest spirits did to Arendelle is just exactly the same thing the painted evil old king of Arendell did to the forest. Imposing his/its will upon others without their consent. The old king built a dam, doesn't care how damaging it causes to the environment. Same as the forest spirits place magic on Elsa, ruining her life, tearing her family apart, killing her parents, driving everyone out of town unless Elsa yields and does whatever it wants her to do. Almost kill herself in the process. Her glorious destiny, my ass. She never asks for any of it.
I wish that scene stayed in the movie, with the Deer person maybe being the Fifth spirit before Elsa, kind of like Avatar. But I'm confused as to why Iduna would be wearing an Arendelle cape, and how the soldier commanding her to go back to camp wouldn't notice she's a Northuldra. I'm also a bit disappointed they didn't keep Mattias's girlfriend as a soldier.
At that point, nobody understood why the fight broke out. The Northuldrans believed it was the Arendelians that started it, while the Arendelians thought the opposite - even though the soldiers were told of the plan before, they were still confused and I doubt that any of them wanted to kill children. So I imagine the soldier who told Iduna to get back to camp knew who she was since the soldiers had spent some time with the Northuldrans. I also liked Mattias’ girlfriend being a soldier, I think it would have been interesting if they were separated by the fog and his girlfriend became a royal guard - perhaps she offered to accompany Elsa and Anna since she knew the area, which would have lead to a heartwarming reunion.
Juliette Vacaresse I believe she got the arendellian cape from an earlier deleted scene from agnar. They were both playing in the woods before this fight broke out, and if you notice he is not wearing his cape in this scene.
Meanwhile in an alternate universe people are enjoying this version of Frozen 2 with all the incredible deleted scenes that we don’t get to see in ours 😞
Because it was no longer fitting in the story, however. If the other scenes came out, there would be more unanswered questions that they have to explain and made Frozen even longer until the more questions was created until the story no longer make sense. Although, they're still keeping the most important question that all fans are asking. Will Elsa get a love interest? No body knows, for now, it's an impossible ships.
@@angelinenabua6336 No, they could have made kept these scenes in and worked a better story than the one in the movie. Frozen 2's actual story completely removes the the substance from their parent's stories and makes the newer characters like Mattias and the Northoldra do nothing for the resolution. I think it's more likely they struggled with making the film enjoyable for kids and removed the darker but arguably way more enjoyable story elements. It's sad that they made more room for a half finished Kristoff proposing side story and Olaf existential crisis (which both seemed out of place) than the actual mystery of the forest. They missed out on too many good oppurtunities just looking at the deleted scenes alone.
@@theodoor7394 To be honest, you can cut every second of Olaf's scene and still affect almost nothing to the movie. Just a few particular scenes that can be easily tweaked and still keep its narrative. Olaf is just Jarjar Bings in Frozen II. He is everywhere because his merchandises are cheap to produce and get a higher margin.
OH MY GOD... This is just epic! I can't understand why they eliminated this kind of scenes, they would have transformed the movie into something simply incredible o_o
DUUUUDE!!! I JUST REALIZED! THE DEER GUY IS AHTOHALLAN. It wasn't a place it was a spirit! That's why Iduna said "only ahtohallan knows" in the movie. I thought it was such a wired way to phrase a place but she was talking about the spirit! EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE UPDATE: Ahtohallan was calling Elsa to break the dam! That's why you hear the voice! THIS GUY WAS SUCH A PROMINENT PART OF THIS MOVIE NO WONDER THE FINAL CUT MAKES NO SENSE!!
Many people forget that on the day the forest fell, Iduna actually left not only her home but her people, her family, her mother, and her father perhaps. She sacrificed it all basically for Agnarr and she was all alone in Arrendelle and she could never go back and visit her home and I wonder how her family must've reacted too, searching for their daughter I guess and not realizing that far away she was a queen.
I know they changed the story MULTIPLE times, but at that point, I think that means you should sit and REALLY consider why you’re making a movie. Are you making it because you truly have an idea? You want more of the characters? It makes money? Because unstable storyline ideas are why scenes like this end up on the cutting room floor. Truly, a missed opportunity.
You have to remember it’s supposed to be mainly for kids. At the pre screening, the kids did not understand this scene. If you have Disney plus they have a docuseries about the making of the film and they explain having to change the whole prologue because kids were confused and needed familiar characters earlier in the movie
It’s actually quite annoying some of the things they deleted. Like the “get it right” song was the best one on the soundtrack. And this scene gives Matthias much more purpose.
Wouldnt it be cool if king Ragnar instead killed the ice spirit (what Elsa is) and that's why Elsa is what she is because maybe her mother helped the ice spirit?? I dunno
Way before the sequel came out, my friends and I had fan theories of Elsa being the long-lost daughter of The Snow Queen, or perhaps way before birth was cursed to have ice powers by an evil sorceress who wanted her to spread ice and snow around the world. Too bad our theories were debunked.
@Gacha Skyla They also explicitly had Anna say "You *are* the fifth spirit" to her, which she does not dispute. So yes, Elsa *is* the ice spirit, and together, her and Anna make the bridge, with Anna representing the human side.
Personally this would've added an even greater and deeper magical sense to the world than just the spirits, it would've made things so much more interesting and would've caught the eye so much more. Same for the deleted scene of the secret chamber where they find their mothers shawl-thing (can't remember the name at the moment) Legit Frozen 2 lost such great scenes that had so much potential, ESPECIALLY because everyone would've wanted to know about who or what the reindeer man is or was, HOW did he do what could do? Was he the fifth spirit at the time or was he a mage? Which personally would've been cool considering how close the other tribe were placed as to the spirits, plus it would've shown that Elsa isn't (wasn't?) the only one out there with the ability to wield magic and such :0 Plus apart from the dam... this made more sense as to what could've caused the rage of the spirits to seal themselves away from the world (personally they didn't actually seem too... pissed off at everyone in the movie...)
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that deer...person, spirit, thing, was that suppose to be the old 5th spirit that Elsa has taken over for? pffft because if so ,there were so many story gaps in Frozen 2, but this would've made Elsa's storyline make sense. I think this scene alone would've made the movie a lot better. Not only for Elsa's plot line, but the character introductions would've made a better transition. Kinda like how Atlantis The Lost Empire did their introduction.
Am I the only one who got goosebumps while watching this scene? It's dark but epic at the same time and it's a shame that this didn't make it to the movie
아렌델제라드 it’s a great guess..and maybe they’ll do Frozen 3 and it will be about Kristoff real identity...maybe he’s related with the people in the woods and maybe Sven too...
I really like the use of “Dark Sea” for this scene. It fits so well~ I’d only tweak it a bit and swap out Elsa’s Theme/Leitmotif for Iduna’s Theme along with the voice calling and it’s make perfect sense for an official release. I’m considering all of these deleted scenes head canon until the next installment. They really piece together the story that Frozen II told and is such a shame they couldn’t make the cut.
I like this prologue better because it gives off a more dire feeling. You can tell the stakes are high when you see Iduna running through the forest looking for her mother.
Wow... mind blown! This is just better in every way than the final result! They used the strategy of “Show, not Tell” there was a lot of action and Matias had a VERY big, amazing, important role! It would’ve made it the shocker when he appeared later in the film. Amazing!
This isn't just a deleted scene it's a whole different story that was scrapped at the last minute and then thrown away and then we were hit with a bit of Avatar the last airbender!
Although 'Frozen 2' was good it was kind of a let down, the trailers made me excited including the theories I enjoyed it in the cinemas but it at times I was frustrated- I know this is a kids movie and all but I kinda wanna see a movie with the deleted scenes about the king and Queen.
We need "Frozen The Prologue" it needs to be about the parents lives! I also wonder what that deer dude was or that their is a third tribe in the Frozen universe.
this scene is actually so good I can't! Why would they take it out! It made me feel so emotional and a plus is the heroics of Lieutenant Mattias cause you can see how loyal he is. He saves Prince Agnarr, the now king after Runeard is dead, and Iduna despite her being a Northuldran(I'm pretty sure she would be wearing Northuldran clothes), and after that he still decides to run back to try to save the King. True dedication, bonding between future romantic characters, and emotional scenes due to being separated from their families and some lose loved ones.
The reindeer magic seems like some plot element they must have cut out but they could have easily kept the rest of the scene and it would have added to Matias' and Iduna's characters and been way more interesting
This is amazing, I can’t believe it didn’t make it. It explains how Iduna learned how to communicate with the spirits, and shows a lot of the soldiers character too (can’t think of how to spell it)
I wish there was a 4 hour version of Frozen 2 so that all these parts could be in it, and it wouldn't feel so rushed. like, keep the theater version but then make a second alternative version. would be so good. Frozen 2 could have almost been a netflix series instead hahaha
I get why they didn't include it, but this scene does provide a far better explanation for how Iduna ends up in Arendelle. It's also super cool to see what I can only assume is Elsa's predecessor; super badass!
@@josearielortiz2055 we don't know yet if that reindeer guy was a villain or not, but according to the actual movie, the Arrendellians were the ones who attacked. So I guess he/it was just defending the Northuldrans? That's just my opinion tho 🤷♂️
It's a great scene but it changes everything. Who is the antler-ed man? Where is the wind spirit? Iduna was the one who had saved the prince and he didn't even know it was her until they were adults. It looks like they changed the story quite a bit since this prologue was drafted.
Wow and this scene even gives Mattias more of a distinct personality. I swear, the more that I look into Frozen 2, the more I see all the poor choices that were made in crafting the story. All the cut scenes add more to the story than they were replaced with.
They ABSOLUTELY should have kept this!!!! It would have explained so much more about the Fifth Spirit, for one thing-if it had introduced us to another character (the Shapeshifter) who manifested it before Elsa did.
And yet another cut, that could have make the movie much better. I ain't even surprised no more, just mildly disappointed. All these deleted scenes seems to be able to provide much more interesting story, than what we were given in the end.
What intrigues me the most is Iduna hearing the Voice. You know the one. It implies she wasn't going to be the one calling Elsa from across time or whatever that was. Which i think would have been much much better.
I like Frozen 2, but this honestly looks a lot better. Also I'm genuinely interested in the deer guy and I want to know who he is and what his story is
I'm actually one of those weirdos that enjoyed Frozen 2 over Frozen one. But even I have to admit, we could have had an amazing story just by seeing these rough sketches and storyboards. We could have had something that was straight up fantastical. And also if they had destroyed the kingdom in the end and had to start over new.
They could totally use some of these ideas for a different film, they are quite good after all and a good writer knows to never completely discard an idea even if you don’t use it in the intended story you might be able to use it elsewhere.
This prologue is way more interesting. It makes me want to know more about the woods and who that stag man was. Kind of wish they kept that plot point in the movie
I’m sorry but... WELL THE HECK DIDNT THEY PUT THIS IN! IT IMMEDIATELY ESTABLISHES A MYSTERY AND GIVES YOU IMPORTANT PARTS OF THE STORY IN A WAY YOU COULD NEVER FORGET! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!
This would have made the story more interesting. Though I understand that Disney wanted to keep away from having a dark force driving the story and focus more on psychological thing such as the sister bond in the first one. There was no main villain, it was just a determine sister wanting to help the other. That's what made Frozen unique in the first place. But in truth, it's always fun to have something like this in a story.
A prequel novel entitled Frozen 2: Dangerous Secrets: The Story of Iduna and Agnarr by author Mari Mancusi was released on November 3, 2020. The events of the book primarily take place prior to the events of the first Frozen film, and tell the backstory of Queen Iduna and King Agnarr, how they met, and their relationship prior to the birth of Elsa and Anna.
Fr lowkey might be having my hopes to high but I low-key want atleast an hour long movie just portraying Agnorr and Iduna’s adventures and childhood and romance. I didn’t come up with it but they should call it: Before Frozen. Just the sound of that gives me goosebumps!
Instead of this powerful, awesome mini story of how and why Iduna ended up in Arendelle and Actually giving Matthias a connection or both Agnarr and Iduna, we got the thing in the movie instead, where she just randomly hopped into the cart with Agnarr , not even showing any sadness about being separated from her family.
I wondered why Iduna just left without putting her family into question and we never saw any indication of her missing them (like maybe a moment when her husband wasn’t there or smth)... this makes more sense aghhhh I’m sad
In this version Iduna was not from the tribe, but her mother was a noble and high-ranked from the kingdom army, she was even allowed to take her daughter to the historical meeting and opening of the dam. Mattias loved her, but seemed not to be the father of Iduna. Maybe they also planed Elsa and Anna to hear some stories about her from Matthias returning at the end of the movie back from the forest. Too much as for me, F1 showed Iduna as soft quite woman, not as someone, who had a brave mother and could save a prince by herself. In that version Agnarr and Iduna were married because they were already friends as kids and shared the same sorrow, not a good reason for a marriage anyway. In actual version Agnarr suddenly felt in love in some orphan girl though he could and should find some princess, and Iduna also, as her daughter later, had to repeat to herself "conceal, don't feel, don't let them know"; from my point of view it is much better. But this deleted scene still could make sense, if they moved forward with the version from outtake "I seek the truth", where sisters were looking for the answers in the castle based on hints of their mother.
So in this version, matias technically steals iduna from her home. But It makes sense why they would cut this scene out, because at the end she calls out for her mother, and this would imply that later iduna would return to the forest to search for her.
Why were scenes like this cut-out?!?! I mean, I know it might, (Keyword: Might) be a tad bit gloomy for kids but this was for the audience that grew up watching Frozen! So this scene would've been perfect! It might've also cleared up some plot holes!
I have seen each and every Frozen 1 and Frozen 2 deleted scene and songs. Now i think in Frozen 3 some of these scenes will definitely be there with a bit of alterations in the message they give. I cant wait for the movie.
If the reindeer is a man and that's not Samantha!! Maybe "some one ta" "Santa" Water is memory work, Air is memory, also, fire is memory, and earth is memory also but only the water can be frooze by elsa. And air is translucent, can see the shapes and sides and also fire can burn the memories.
I think if they added this to the movie, it would've made much more sense. They shortened the actual movie really hard which isn't enough (for me).. It could've been 2 hours.
My theory: I think this was deleted because it seems like Arendelle really prepared for the battle because they set up camps and I think the person who could transform from reindeer to human is their leader which is protecting them like what he/she did to Iduna. I think it already gives out the answer to who attacked first that would make their journey and sacrifice of Elsa no sense at all/it will change the flow of the story. I think it also adds a question to who is the voice and that the ending will change like Arendelle gets destroyed and theyll have to rebuild it and then there's the scene where Elsa shows Anna the memory of her mother and father. It's just my theory hehe.
Damn it, why are the deleted scenes more interesting than the movie?! Since Disney's remaking all their old stuff, they should do something like "What Could Have Been", where they release movies with their original plot
It’s very unfair of disney that they deleted such curious scenes like that😕 Frozen 2 can be more mature movie with those scenes together, Although it’s been a series made for kids and I'm now 19+ and loved to watching frozen all the time 😐
It makes me sad to see this kinda stuff because every scene they cut from Frozen 2 seems like a way cooler and more creative film than what we actually got
This 3 minutes scene was more intense, hooking and interesting than the two movies combined I kinda want a whole new movie just based off this, magical reindeer man and all
