Sounds gorgeous. I lived near some of the St. Louis locks, but they don't let the public on them 🙁. I miss the Mississippi sometimes. Thanks for watching ✌️💙

It's cool to see how nature has taken over again and managing the place just fine. Interesting to be able to see the remains of structures along the way, but they are being replaced by what nature intended. Great to be able to get in places like this :-)

Howdy! Thanks for the visit, it's always appreciated. Do you have many icey creeks in your part of New Zealand (it always looks warm in your videos)? Best wishes brother✌️💙

@@DerelictDoug + hi yeah we get iced over sometimes in winter not thick ice but at times our water lines can freeze up..typically in the high country not so much where i am now..more central new Zealand or the south island..my part is very coastal and mild🙂

North chyenne canyon is a cool place I live in the area just up 21st street well cresta avenue or boulevard as soon as you cross highway 24 it's hard to keep track in Colorado springs the streets and roads same thing change names a lot even if it's the same stretch of road. It's a cool park and it's in city limits technically I'm pretty sure still the west side of colorado springs. Southern colorado is full of plateaus mesas and canyons. I haven't been there in a while since highschhool when my mom and I moved from aurora to colorado springs. Waldo canyon is cool too just up highway 24 west on the way to woodland park red rock canyon open space is really close to my house huge park I've hiked there a lot palmer park is cool as well Ute valley park is cool too there are trails all over colorado springs it's a lot better than Denver when it comes to the out doors anyway. Denver is more urban colorado springs is urban as well but feels more like a big city small town vibe if that makes any sense.

I am a big fan of all the trails and areas you mentioned. You can really have fun getting lost while still being right near town. Unfortunately, the Waldo Canyon trail has been closed since the 2012 fires. I also totally agree with your Denver vs COS sentiment. COS is able to preserve it's small-town feel while holding a half a million people. Thank you so very much for sharing your memories and watching. All the best!

@@DerelictDoug yeah I like both cities nothing wrong with Denver being more of a big city Denver does have some pretty cool city parks city park holds the Denver zoo and the museum of nature and science. I agree with the sentiment about colorado springs keeping more of a small town feel holding half a million people and being the 2nd largest city in colorado. Colorado springs is actually larger than Denver by land area. Yeah it sucks that waldo canyon is shut down it was always one of my favorite trails I'm not sure waldo canyon will open up again it might in a year or 2 I don't know. I wasn't living in colorado at the time of the waldo canyon fire.

Ari Basmajian Oh once again totally agreed! I’ve lived in both cities, similar to you. Don’t get me wrong I love Denver too. 😍 Actually they are opening up some sections of Waldo canyon next spring!
