Broke the USB on the back, and installed this up top as shown in the video. Worked great. I have a spare transmitter that's not broken, but thinking of buying another and installing on that one too just to get the port up top. 5 stars!
You prolly dont care but if you're bored like me atm you can stream all of the new movies on instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my brother for the last few weeks :)
Man you are amazing I just did it with USB type-C it is so amazing dont have to pull the crossfire out every time I want to play sim and I can just have 1 cable for all the stuff I use on my table. Much love to you 😍😍😍😍 Maby I can mod it more to even charge it with type C
Cool! So this will do data transfer and work on sim. I've liked how the USB cable works with the different sims but always new it was a weak link. My 2015 Taranis X9D+ just has started acting up enough to where I can't fly sim with it any longer. I can keep the radio still on the table and still do data transfer with it but leary of that.
Really nice job, dude! 😊 I've made so many holes like that... Usually for TP4056 boards I use to put in my "creations"... LOL Anyway, difficult job... But really well done!
hi there very good video. I'm wondering where you got those tweezers and the 8mm socket tool you used in the video? they look like nice tools. I Like the sweezers aren't razor sharp and they hold until you release them. thanks for your time.
Waiting for your Nirvana video... Jumper T16 has failed but is fixable, if when or ever you get too see the T16s scroll button, its integrity relies on a tiny 1.5mm pin like a toothpick. This is a major blunder... already see T16 plus metal scroll knob or buttons and hall gimbals. I replaced the plastic hex pin with a piece of 1.5mm allen hex wrench (steel) and some epoxy.
I'm planning a video on the nirvana. Just spoiler alert it my daily driver and has converted me from pinching to thumbing that's how good it is. The software is kinda meh.....
Hello, i also have a broken USB but i am from Germany. Would it be possible you send me just the STL data from the printed part? I would pay the full price for it but i cant order to Germany. The shipping is more expensive then the part itself
Mine have had issues with that port since day one. Brand new. I have to be very particular with what cable i use for it to work. I was never a fan of 'USB mini type A'. (That's the full name of the port). It has always been an unreliable port. I don't understand why the newer QX7 was designed with that shitty port. Anyway, thanks for making this video. I am likely gonna do this mod. Just bought a brand new good quality USB mini type A cable, and it doesn't work on my X9d.
If your radio knows it's plugged it then it's probably the drivers on your pc. Hit me up on discord and I can help you troubleshoot www.tweetfpv.com click the discord link.
@@TweetFPV Im in michigan so not sure why its charging me international shipping when in USA its less than 5oz and costs less than $5 to ship. I ship daily and average cost is $3.60 lolol
When I Initially looked into it, it seamed like a low quality power source could provide more than 5v. But after that I didn't bother looking into it more than that.
@@TweetFPV No when the cc pin is leaved unconnected, 5v is always provided. It is a more robust connector, reversible. It can charge lipos more efficiently, with 5v 9v 15v 20v awailable if properly negotiated with the cc pin. There are awesome mods to do with usb C in the drone industry. Do you approve ? Do you think usb C is the future for drones connections ?
That's all very well, but you have taken all the switches out of the front of your Taranis. Plus, there is no problem getting the correct USB cable, and my Taranis stands up perfectly well. Complete waste of time.
