It is crazy how much bs is involved just to be able to use the Taranis , and this is the way they designed this radio. Thank you for video it was informative . I just wish my radiomaster 16S would hurry so I can sell my frsky gear .
I couldn't figure out why I didn't have metering on channel 12, in the receiver tab for Betaflight. Your video was the only one that pointed out it was due to not having the firmware updated on the XM+. Other channels talked all around RSSI in Betaflight such as select and save channel 12. They showed after selecting a saving you now had percentage reading in the Setup tab etc. etc. But Other video's were assuming channel 12 was dancing around with all this information. Finally your video pointed out if you don't have metering on Channel 12 here's what you do...update the firmware on the XM+. It took me two hours of searching RU-vid till I found you video. Thanks for thinking further back into the whole process. I know we can fly without the RSSI value on the OSD screen but not having it is like not having battery voltage. Without either of those two pieces of information you fly with less confidence. Good video, thanks for putting this our there.
which file do i need? there are several listed within the download folder. the only protocol i have on my radio is ACCESS D16. am i looking for XM+_ACCST_2.1.2_fcc_rssi16.frk?
You can't tell if your radio is FCC or LBT by showing or not showing D8 mode, there is sticker on the back which says what what version is it. If not, try flashing both of them and try pairing it to the radio.
Maybe this is a stupid question, I'm not very computer savvy. but do I need an empty sd card? Or can I use the card with the opentx sounds files for my taranis on it? Thank you
Not all QX7 radios will work on bottom port. The early productions it was NOT wired in. In that case you must use the module bay pins and there ground and volt are reversed!!!
I flashed my xm+ but oddly I have tried everything I can rssi_scale and rssi_offset but my rssi shows backwards. Using betaflight 4.0 with matek f405 ctr
any idea why the value is jumping around so much? i just did this process over the weekend and im getting a max value of about 80 even when im right beside the RX and it only seems to drop 10-15% during flight, even when im pretty far away.
in other tutorials, the link to the taranis, made by reversing the negative with the positive ... which operation is right and which is wrong? Thanks ;-)
@@alessandromedos891: I think if you use the module port on the back of the QX7 you may need to reverse the + and - wires but using the cable connector on the bottom of the QX7 you don't. Try to confirm it before trying though.
I think yes, but the wire order might be different! I updated a receiver firmware wirelessly, Over The Air (OTA) ► ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0yK36Ovczeo.html
furulevi hi! At 4:10 it says “flash ext. device” but on my taranis it only comes up with “flash ext. Module”. There is also another option and I have tried all of them, however non of them work, and one of the options glitch the radio and switch it off! Btw thnx for responding!
@@Ibabthekebab Did you ever figure out a fix? Im going through the process right now and have the same problem, "device" is not showing for me, only "module"
Update! I tried flashing this firmware but as of recently frsky changed their firmware, make sure you go under older downloads, I downloaded the most recent one and it doesn't work, I guess it's for the newer access transmitters, and when you get into the transmitter, to flash it's now called s.port. it will save you a lot of headache😅
Dude I’ve tried both files the new one from October and the old one from like March both in 2020 and my xm+ and nothing when I connect my xm receiver straight to the taranis with the connector on the bottom of the radio the one on the left
I couldn't figure out how to complete this process to save my life....UNTIL... I saw your video. It finally made sense. You helped me get everything done and I appreciate you so much. People like you make FPV possible for so many. Keep up the good work. Thank you so much! Marcus in Florida, USA! Instagram: whoopsquadjax
