Bravo! This is an excellent podcast. All of the content is interesting and very well done. I think you have a very good balance in the segments to hold the attention of the viewer. The interviews were especially nice, and I loved seeing the colorways in of the festival yarns.

What an interesting interview with Margit Hofmann. The period of Lent is coming up as I want this episode (years after you made it). For me Lent is a lot about colours, something I will talk about in my knitting podcast during this period, and the interview was very inspirational for that. Another wonderful podcast! Thank you for sharing your fiber festival with us. I agree that knitting does help keep us centred. I'm a palliative care nurse and on a particular bad day I always find knitting helps.

I've been watching these out of order but I do really enjoy them. I appreciate that you're encouraging new knitters to start using patterns right away. I didn't and felt they were overwhelming at first. I am so happy I pushed forward and learned how to use and read patterns. It changed knitting for me and I am crazy about it now. thanks!!

It was completely appropriate to include that sad bit at the end ~ the woman clearly has paid homage to her loved one in her yarn. I made a wonderful sweater/jumper many years ago, that was one of 97% of my belongings lost in a fire. Just under two years later, I made a second one ... I bought the yarn in the same way, and used the same method as the first. However, my mind was still mixed up and my concentration wasn’t there, so there is plenty ‘wrong’ with the final result. This second one is now a full decade old, and looks it, but it is one of the most precious items I now have. A plus, is that almost everyone who sees it and says anything about it, declares they want one just like it - this without knowing the backstory. Knitting - as we all know - is an emotional experience. Our love and patience and DNA gets inadvertently knotted in-amongst the fibres. Therefore, as I said to start, including that bit was the perfect thing to do. Thank you. Joe Guelph, Canada

I found this episode totally interesting. Loved the interview with the spinning lady at end, luved the pic of sheephugging. It was very moving about her daughter, makes me think of my Mama, she taught me to knit etc, being a wonderful crafter, she knitted her garments n for Dad n me, withought a pattern, which included basketweave, cables , just simple stuff. I was always impressed at her jumpers not bad for only 3 years of school, I taught her to count, read and write. When I taught meself to knit socks, n showed Mum she said it was very good n promptly stuffed it up her jumper. She was poorly near the end and her memory was gone, pity she could not show me how to knit toe up. Could you do an episode with Toe up socks just plain with Opal sock yarn etc, I'm v curious. I only know Turkish cast on.

I have just found your podcasts and I love them. Love the idea of a kal for fair isle unforunatly It is November 2nd and to late. I have made 1 jumper for my grandson and it came out ok but I see the mistakes. Fair Isle fascinates me and is my next learning piece. I have been knitting 1 year.

Whenever desperately lokking for bittons: go to Antwerp, Belgium. In the Zirkstraat you will find a shop called 'Buttons' . They have got a huge collection of buttons and the shopowner knows her collection very well. She also makes suggestions which seemed always really good to me. Also, the interior is antique and of such a beauty and richness (came from an auction in Paris). Love your podcasts although I haven't been knitting for more than 25 years.

Just wanted to thank you for this episode! I had made an error in the length of the gradient vest I'm working. It's my first big garment. I thought all was lost till I watched this. I'm now well on the way to rescuing it!

Andrea, you have done such a good job on the cardigan. The cardigan is beautiful and my compliments to your daughter, she is the perfect model! Andrew, your socks are also very well made. I am a ' newbe' ( is that the correct spelling?, at socks knitting and magic loop. You are a point way ahead, I only knit 1 sock at the time, but I like that. I was moved with the story of Sabine, a tragedy. I am also a spinner and understand that spinning can help with overcome a loss. I find spinning having a mediative help it is so relaxing. All the interviews were very interesting. Love your podcast!

In terms of sleeves folks who have to add on or undo several rows as you were talking about, would it be possible to knit 3/4 sleeves on a larger round cable and do a version of the magic loop two at once method? Or would that be impossibly difficult to manage, either weight wise or just manuevering wise? Just a thought. (I'm not a very experienced knitter.)

I did this cutting on a bottom-up dress because the colour didnt look very nice with the bottom colour. Ill use the cut off top part to make a t-shirt.
