I love how The Professor is completely and totally insane and way past down with killing people but even THEN he's still worried for Fry in Zoidberg's care.
@@FirstnameLastname-py3bc I can detect the slightest hint of a change. Farmsworth and Bender lack their popular energy in their voices, and you can kinda tell that everyone's trying to smooth things out overall.
Same thing happens in the first season of the simpsons and family guy. It usually takes the voice actors a couple of seasons to lock down each characters voice.
@@tling321 I'm guessing that Zoidberg was saying something in a language only known to his people, and when Fry tried to imitate Zoidberg he spoke wrongly and offended him
I would have thought that would be when he completely re-assembled Hermes piece-by-piece when Hermes was addicted to replacing his parts with robotic ones.
@@ddthewolf In an interview Phil Lamarr (who voices Hermes) claimed that Billy recorded the scene in one take and the rest of the cast was really impressed
I always liked the idea that Zoidberg was not bad at what he was (A doctor for aliens) but he wasn't good with humans and, unfortunately, that's the only beings the professor hires. I felt like that had a bit more comedy to it instead of what he became later on. Either way, the delivery of "WHAT? My mother was a SAINT! GET OUT" was so wonderfully delivered.
I dont know if they retconned this but i still find it weird that he is truly a brilliant doctor, just does not know anything about human anatomy, he could of been a rich famous doctor if the professor didnt get bit by that space yeti
@@tyke2829 it was his hormones getting to him he was ready to mate Edit: i just realized he was talking about the space whale episode amd not the one where he returns to his home planet...
I love how "He's a little unusual" sets you up to think there's something seriously wrong with him (since the Professor of all people is calling him weird), and then "He wears sandals" sets you up to think he's actually totally normal (only the Professor could possibly think he's weird), and then it turns out this has all been a meta-red herring, he's a freaking alien space crab 😂
Is it just me that thinks the noise zoidberg is making sounds like” my mother was a saint” and Fry’s reply sounds like “your mother was a prostitute” 😂
Its true, even his confidence went down with time. Here he at least pretends to know what he's talking about. In the Yeti episode he tears the crew apart and seems hesitant the entire time...unless I'm just imagining him being a bumbling idiot when he switched bodies with Fry
They probably printed it from the wrong side of the door but didn't bother to pay to fix it (or Zoidberg painted it himself and isn't bothered by it since it looks right from inside his office)
I am rewatching the series and due to how many times I have seen it a lot of the jokes don't make me laugh that much any more, but I completely forgot about this one and just laughed so hard! Multiple things with Zoidberg have got me in fact haha
As easy and funny as it is to paint Zoidberg as a loser, I like this characterization of him. He's portrayed as reasonably competent in some respects, even if he's not as knowledgeable on human anatomy as he claims to be, and he's confident in his skills without seeming like he's sucking up to others.
