FS2020: G1000 NXI Mod - Basic Overview & Why You Should Install This Mod! 

This has given me some great tips before I DL this (noticed it on the marketplace yesterday). I especially like how you can have the map placed in the HSI, very cool. This saves a lot of looking between both screens. The G1000 was very intimidating when I first started learning it; now everything is familiar and it’s opened up a world of aviation. Thanks for the help in doing that. 🙏🏼

Great short overview of this G1000. Have been using this mod since installing MSFS2020. The moving knob has never worked for myself. Even last week on the live stream I thought I had done something wrong because it wasn’t moving. Keep up the good work 🤙🤙🤙

Hi HUDDISON, much enjoy and appreciate your videos , on this one your tip showing the way to change the map orientation is very useful and you are the only person who has even mentioned it. I was following a tutorial on another site and he changed the orientation part way through with out saying so, which made you think you had made a mistake when trying to follow it on a second laptop.as the visual layout was so different between the two settings.

Great Vid yet again!!! As for panning in the NXI, you're correct. It is not implemented yet. Not sure when it will be, but it'll eventually come in an update. Certainly, it'll be included when it becomes the MSFS default G1000, but currently in early access development, no panning available as of yet. Keep these coming my friend! 😎

To pan the map, left click the centre of the Range/Pan button until a white arrow shows in the middle of the map. now click and hold any of the four markers at north, east, south and west and the map will pan in that direction.Thank you for the immensely helpful videos.

Its a bit confusing when at 7:13 you talk about using the outer knob on the FMS whilst your mouse and the rotating symbol are very much over the inner knob. At 7.55 you say to use the inner knob then rotate the outer knob. There is a small knob (inner) and larger knob (outer) as far as I am aware.

Panning on GS1000 nxi. (XBox) I downloaded this Thursday 11th Nov 21 and panning does work on mfd. Seems updates fixed it. Not sure if you've been notified of this yet but worth a mention. Enjoy all your vids. Cheers...

Another great video. Every time I think I know a bunch of 'stuff', after watching your videos (and those of your peers) I realize how much I don't know! I just did this flight - successfully - and decided to turn around on the runway, throttle back up and head back to EGLC. I figured I could simply go into the Flight Plan and delete it to enter a new one, but couldn't find a way to do that. I ended up having to select and CLR each waypoint on the original EGLC to EGLL plan. Once that was done I could enter EGLL as the departure airport and EGLC as the destination airport. Question is, is there a way to delete the / a flight plan in its entirety with a simple click of the mouse? I guess as a workaround, I could have done a Direct To EGLC!? Again, great video and thanks for all you do relative to educating the MSFS community.

I have been watching your tutorials and find them very thorough and informative. Is there a CDI hot key on the keyboard? I am a newbie on MSFS (less than two weeks) and I have version 11 & 12 of X-Plane and quite seasoned. MSFS there is more to learn. I have to say with that with X-Plane, I like the pop out screen of either the G1000 of 530. Thank you Sir.

I have noticed when I switched to the NXI version, that the weather details have disappeared from the FMS screen. It used to show direction and speed of winds aloft in the top right corner but not anymore. Is this feature in a setting somewhere ?.....Great videos and have learned a lot from them so much appreciated....Mark

One oif the things that I like is that the settings remain from session to session. You don't have to change it or reset for every flight.

Huddison great video...As you know, with help from my son remotely, got my sim working after the last update kicked out my Logitech units and made my aircraft unflyable.....Is it safe to download this as it is a beta version....I can not risk losing the Logitech /sim again?

Excellent, helpful video. One question if you don’t mind….I installed the NXi today but I don’t get the bank of buttons below the HDG dial in the left panel. The right panel says it is NXi when it turns on so the patch has installed. I wonder if they have changed the patch or do I need to do something to the left panel? Thanks 😀

Hi great vid as always. Been using the G1000 for a while but today when I flew my C172 the display bar on the right panel that shows all the Engine information is now just an empty black bar. I have tried other planes and the Engine info displays fine. Is there something I have toggled to turn it off or do you think it maybe an update bug with the C172? It's driving me crazy. Thanks.

Hi. James, (hope you don’t mind me calling you by your name). Did you make a video about entering a new destination whilst in a flight on the G1000?

I don't know... this 'new and improved version' with the G1000 NXI mod is giving me a lot of trouble. Now that I figured out how to do RNAV approaches with it, I am having trouble with ILS approaches while in the previous version they all worked well.

I am trying to replicate the RNAV approach that you showed us in one of your videos from London City to Heathrow (27L). It worked fine with the older version of the G1000 but in this updated version I can't get it to work. There is no magenta diamond and so I cannot capture the glidepath. Any solutions to this?

In the GTN 750 add on, the brightness of the displays is adjusted from the menu and FMS keys? Worth a try?

OBS mode is something I will be trying later today, really like this update for the G1000. Also, I have never been able to pan the map with the button, on XBOX, tried many times.

This could be just coincidence, but I installed the new G1000 NXI and now my yoke/throttle quadrant (Saitek) have to be reset. So far, I haven't been successful in doing so. The C172 G1000 is unflyable. The CH rudder pedals aren't working correctly, either. I'm trying to find a way to go back to the default G1000 to see if that really is the issue. It seems that almost every time Microsoft had a mandatory update, my controls all have to be reset again. So annoying!

I'm getting stuck after you program the direct route when I come to program a departure and an arrival in it does not enter?

Do you need to uninstall default Garmin before installing this version - if so how do you uninstall deafult

Hey James. Whether it be with the standard G1000 or the NXI version I still have the problem with the range + and - scroll knob. Unless you have figured it out I am a newbie to MSFS as opposed to X-Plane range + and - which is so simple to operate. I just purchased the Carenado Cesnna 182 which incorporates G1000. Its an impossibility to use the range knob which the view is so close to the magenta its hard to see where I'm going. I want to scroll out to see my whole course but can not. I also noticed that the the Carenado does not feature the FLC (flight level control) unless I am missing something. But my range view is my biggest concern on any aircraft using the G1000. Any help sir on this would be great.

In your video, when you select keyboard input into RH screen for direct to code for airport etc, your letters go straight into search box. When i press keyboard i get a giant keyboard come up and enter my airport code and press enter. Then it takes me back to sim but no letters entered? So i end up twisting dial for each letter grrrrr. Great video by the way. 👍

I wanted to ask one more question. Is there an OBS mode with the G3000?

Shame the current version stops the Alt function on my Logitech multipanel...

I thought on the current older one, you could pan map just by clicking and dragging on the screen. But after I've done that, I can't figure out how to re-center my plane? My plane just flies off the map. Grrrr

Added it and then Uninstaller it as my as my autopilot panel stopped working.Hope this is fixed before update 10

I deleted this version...auto pilot wasn't working or ils and rnav..back to the standard g1000 and works fine..

Any impact on sim performance?

I'm short on space, so my TV is up 7ft from the ground, so I stand and play.

Is it possible for me to put them into any jet?

So the nexrad functionality does not work on 0.6.0? I thought it was implemented on 0.5.0 already
