I would love to see some sort of force-feedback pedals. In real life (at least in a GA aircraft) the effort is extremely light to move the rudder while on the ground or at low speeds, but as speed increases and in flight, they are much more stiff to move.
@Huddison

Interesting: sounds like a good market window for a company to make something like that.

Totally agree with your findings, great quality and enhance immersion significantly. Moreover, I have both V1 Flight Stick as well as the yoke. I use the former for helicopters and although it does have a twist action available for rudder control, I find this very difficult to use in helos when in the hover for any significant length of time. Not only is the spring on the twist axis quite strong (so fatiguing for my old wrists), but it is almost impossible to eliminate 'crosstalk' between the yaw, pitch and roll axes. So for me, the rudder pedals are essential . I suffered somewhat from the connection inconsistencies when I was using XBOX X (which improved when I connected direct to the PC rather than a USB hub) but on the PC they have been rock steady.

I use the V1 flight yoke an the Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder paddle. Use them on Mfs an Xplane 12. Very happy wit that combination. The build quality of the trustmaster is awesome. Expensive but worth the money.

I got these a few weeks ago along with the V1 Yoke and stand. These pedals are great! I was using the the Thrustmaster T. Flight pedals along with the Hotas before as they where my only option on Xbox when MSFS first came out. Upgrading to the V1 yoke and pedals was game changing for me. The pedals seem to be made very well, with heavy duty Plastics and steel! The Thrustmaster pedals got the job done but they never quite felt right. The V1 pedals are so smooth and I love how they come with 2 different spring sets to adjust the tension. Mine came with the black ones installed which are the firmer ones. I haven't even tried the silver ones as the black ones felt good to me. I should try the silver ones though just to see the difference. I also love the different pedal options, I've been using the GA configuration and really like that! Like others if there was one thing I would change is the resistance in the toe breaks. I would like a little bit more resistance but that's just nit picking. They just seem like a solid product that will hopefully last for years to come!
@Huddison
@Huddison Год назад
Well said, that's pretty much how I also feel about these fantastic set of Rudders.
@Nor0252
@Nor0252 11 месяцев назад
You can increase the brake resistance in the GA position by lifting the springs at the back with a flat screwdriver and insert 6x20mm screws to keep them up. I prefer the silver springs, since the rudder is mostly used on the ground at low speeds.
@DrFod
@DrFod Год назад
Only had mine a few weeks but I'm very pleased with them. If I had to nit-pick I'd prefer the toe brakes to have a little more resistance. Perhaps they could be modded with stiffer springs.

I hadn't given the toe brakes much thought, but yes, more realistic resistance might be a good thing.

Recently got back into VR and, with DCS being so overwhelmingly complicated (wish it wasn't, but it makes you feel like you need an engineering degree, just to close the canopy and do pre-flight stuff), 'VTOL VR' is currently the only military flight sim which offers accessibility with realistic options. Never used rudder pedals before (and I come from the days of Microprose's 'Gunship', which brought a nostalgic smile to my face to the box of, in your introduction), but VV's non-HOTAS set-up makes the rudder control... Tricky. It does, however, allow for rudder pedals. Watching your videos on Turtle Beach's offering have definitely made me think they might be an ideal solution for that. And their flight stick combining mouse funcitons on it feels like an obvious new standard for VR stuff. It's really intriguing to see how the technology has now arrived where simulator game controllers now use things like magnetic fields to avoid any internal friction wear and tear.

My 15 year old saitek pedals broke on Sunday, I purchased the turtlebeach velocity one rudder pedals to replace them. Apart from the ease of adjusting the width, the swappable spring tension and pedals from GA to airliner, they are blessed with hall sensors, so you won't get the crappy noise you get from potentiometers, I believe even the more expensive honeycomb pedals aren't hall sensors.

@Huddison

The triggers are ok for Rudder controls, but the V1 Rudders really elevate the whole immersion ten-fold. Yes, you can use the triggers as brakes.

The only real issue I have with mine is that it is a dust magnet. I have to constantly clean it. I never had that issue with my old pedals. I dummo if it is a property of the metal or because it is black. Still, I'm loving mine.

I'd really love to buy these to replace my Thrustmasters, which have gotten sticky. Silicone spray helps. But in my particular setup, the Velocity One pedals would be a problem since they are so high from the floor. My keyboard tray is almost at lap level and the Velocity One pedals would push my knees too high. Something to consider if you're contemplating these. I could remove the keyboard tray but I prefer the keyboard to be easily accessible.

@Huddison
@Huddison Год назад
I've never owned the Logitech Rudders, but my instincts are that they are very budget orientated (build quality etc); whilst the V1 Rudders are mid-ranged priced and this shows in their build quality and features.

post my own update since i owned it since launch. I fly airliners and with the default springs, its actually pretty strong already 🤣(Also to add do to the way my floor and janky desk setup is, with the default springs the thing slides on the floor, so gotta fix that issue before i try the stronger one). As for any issues, I have a dog that sheds a lot, so even when it collects dog hair, I still haven't had problems. Would recommend especially if ur looking for a first rudder pedals (and highly recommend over the Logitech dogshit).

I'm definitely wanting rudder pedals as one of my next flight simulation investments. Just going to wait to see how well the Honeycomb Charlie Pedals compare to these! Already have the Alpha Flight Controls and Bravo Throttle Quadrant so having the Xbox / PC compatability would be nice where I wouldn't get that if I got the Turtle Beach pedals. Definitely will be great to compare though. Turtle Beach made a great product!
@Huddison
@Huddison Год назад
I've no doubt that the Charlie Rudders are also going to be a great product.
@GamingWithFusion
@GamingWithFusion Год назад
They're definitely looking quite great, even with the different ergonomics and the massive weight. I'd imagine they'll do something like they did with their addon Airbus throttle package, making an option for airliner pedals too as the pedals can be taken off and even adjusted, just as the tension can be adjusted. Although, being like $100 more than the Velocity Flight Rudders and not having the swappable pedals by default seems disappointing. Really hoping you get to compare the two though! Here's to the next month as they start getting initial shipments hopefully.

I started with the airline style pedals but found the shallow angle made it very difficult for me to apply the brakes - my feet just don't naturally stick straight out like that. Maybe if you're a ballet dancer. I also initially installed the silver springs but I'm thinking of going back to the black ones. There has been an ongoing issue in Xbox with the brake mapping. It seems that if you do a soft reset it loses the brake axis, it doesn't even show up when you search by input and there have been all sorts of threads on how to fix or avoid it. I set my Xbox to never go to sleep so it's either full on or completely off cold and dark. My final solution - I'm building a PC and ditching Xbox.
@Huddison
@Huddison 11 месяцев назад
I must confess that besides from doing some testing with the V1 Rudders on my Series S, I have not thoroughly investigated issues that may occur. PC does seem to be the best fit for MSFS; I wonder if things will change with FS2024?

@@Huddison I don't mean to knock Xbox, it's a very affordable option for people to get into FS. There is however a possibility you may outgrow it considering all of the peripheral enhancements that the PC offers.

The worst part of Xbox is a lot of things aren’t compatible, or if they ARE compatible… you have to stay with one company throughout. I have a Thrustmaster Boeing yoke and it is great, the throttle is decent… but the rudder pedals kinda leave something to be desired. The turtlebeach pedals seem superior in every way, but in order to use them with my current setup, I’d need to either buy the Turtlebeach flight stick and use the pedals that way or get rid of the Boeing yoke for the turtlebeach yoke. It would be nice to use whichever components I’d like how PC users are. It’s one of the main reasons I’m also wanting to build a PC

What is the simplest way to avoid losing the toe brakes? I reboot the Xbox and disable and re connect the rudder in the accessories tab on the yoke. This doesn’t always work though.

hope i will not regret after use twist method from the end of 90x lol. just ordered this stuff because of curiosity, what the heck is that, and how much it will more precise than i have in x65f twist axis. i absolutely good with twist, however, i think, some time in heli i need more rock fixed position for hovering and landing, and some of models like asobo mustangs have a broken logic for toe so there only way to use tow brakes for normal taxi. in standard situation for lazy folk like me, we can use twist, and then when we press brake button, tow brakes pressed asymmetric, but some of models don't works that way, and so we need to use * and - keys on keyboard, because whatever your rudder position pressing brake trigger in that models press the both virtual brakes and that's annoying as hell. so that's two cause and only that's two cause i bought that stuff. one more cause probably, if i will good with pedals it's probably can motivate me to take realsimulator's stick that's have some more functions than grip of x65f, but same cool concept of force sensors control. no crosswind in local stories, so i get this one, i guess they are similar cool quality. one day long time ago i said to myself if i will got pedals that's will crosswind. but after all this thing was out and i change my mind, as this looks good enough:)

@@Huddison such a horrible... i knew this not a good idea:) after 30 years twisting, i still rotate my stick instead of push pedals, when i push pedals my chair moves back, but if i push one and pull another - o.k. lol... when i want move chair closer to table it rests on pedals, if move rudder forward it stucks on table's balk hahaha... probably most anti-intuitive thing in the world for me... but i think i will good with it, just need some time for relearn and make some adjusting my flying space around table:) and may be i will change springs to 60n instead 80... but don't sure about that:) i have a feeling that's will better than twist, but after some nervous crises
