I leveled out an area for a building and it created a steep drop off from the road to get to the building. After tons of frustrating attempts to fix it your video saved the day. Thanks.
One of the best features in this game!! I’ve spent 6 hours just trying to get farm looking decent so I can set and forget it. Only issue is my OCD doesn’t help 🤣 good thing plants and trees cover it up
Man this is the video I needed to find yesterday before putting my house and garage down. Need to fix the surrounding levels now though lesson learnt as you obviously would IRL to flatten the ground before building
Never even noticed the slope tool. I was trying to use the level tool and thought that was as good as it gets wasted a good hour or so. I can't thank you enough, cheers as you would say.
Thanks mate - yeah placing near roads can be very problematic and time consuming to get right due to the road element blocking the tool fully - but with lots of patience and trial and error you can get a pretty good final outcome.
I have notice in Fs 22 and Fs 19 that the grass textures in landscaping is never the same as the grass texture they have that is already place. I always wondered why that was. Really enjoyed the vid. Found your channel by chance. I am subbing. Have a good day !
Thanks Tman for subbing. The grass texture in FS22 works a little different. When landscaping you place down the base layer with the painting tool, and then if you want the wild grass to grow to be able to mow etc then you need to paint that in from the planting section. You will then get the 'normal' non-planted grass growth back again.
I won't argue with you, but I do think the compromise between the two has produced a better tool, for me its most important that we have the ability to create gradual slopes instead of the geometric rigidness of the FS19 implementation. @@Duckzorly there was nothing that made me more upset in fs19 than making a nice slope and accidentally pressing the raise button and destroying all my hard work by turning it into a flat cube

When I raised my field to make it even i realized that the land that I raised is not able to be farmed on can you plz tell me how to fix it and have farmable land.
Thanks for the video. One thing that I did not get is how you change the angle and distance of view for landscaping. On my version, angle and distance are stuck in a unuseable position. Too bad.
For the life of me I can't get this down. All I want to do is grade a decent path for my tuck to get to my facility, but I always end up with a hole or a hill
Nice How To video with the landscaping tool Duck. That leveling feature seems to be a really nice addition to the landscaping tool. I find it a little strange that they did not implement the 'raise' and 'lower' function to the placeables by default. I think that is a step backwards on their part.

I wanted to wait and experience the look of everything for myself before I seen anything on it beforehand. How are you liking FS22 so far? What are your thoughts? I do not think it's in the mess that FS19 was when released. I feel that FS22 is in a much better place at the same time frame after release.
Yeah for the levelling as follows (PC Based): 1. Right click on the reference area - that is the level you want to set other areas to. 2. Set the size of the tool with the N and M keys and set the strength with the K and L keys(how quick/sever it will change) 3. Left click and hold the mouse to apply the level setting to the desired area. For the Slope tool it's a little different 1. Right click on the reference area - that is the level you want to set other areas to. 2. Set the size of the tool with the N and M keys and set the strength with the K and L keys(how quick/sever it will change) 3. Left click and hold the mouse to apply the the bottom level of the slop setting and move towards the reference area. This needs finessing and finetuning if not just a straight ramp but patience will get you there.
No matter how hard I think about it, my landscaping tool does not change size. Also pushing every single button on my controller has no effect either. Back to FS19 for me!
Hi mate - you have two options. 1. Plough over it - obviously if you are making a field or the like. 2. Use the Landscape tool, selecting paint, and then paint over it with another pallette. Be aware that you may in some instances not be able to adjust the texture under building or in collision protected areas.
Chain saw for the trees and brushcutter for the small shrubs. There is a new mod on the ingame modhub that lets you destroy trees and stumps as another option.
Asphalt and gravel not as yet - but it won't be long for modders to get there I guess. Forestry work is there by default with the minor production options for FS22
@@Duckzorly yeah I hope they add mining and construction as a dlc for gravel and asphalt production. Think it would be awesome for production chain and doing city work as higher contracts. I seen some mods already for FS19 and would love get on that one day.

I don't understand why they don't offer the square brush tool in the painting section like in 2019? (only available in sculpting in 2022)... or am I just missing something?
Gday Mattie - the option is there for landscaping and painting - on PC/Mac you use the V key to change between them - on console I imagine it would be the same button to change the tool in landscaping...

does grass grow from landacape? does medow plants cut and or grow? deleting fields seems to be wastful if not.. cant put grass to fill in without flat u growable grass looks all weird
Hi mate - yes but its a two stage process you paint the base grass texture (under painting) and then add the growable grass from the pant section then you have regrowing grass without it being an active field.
Hi mate - do you mean the floor as in building floor level, or as in the level of the ground? If the later there is a couple of mods that do assist in doing that
Hi Murray - unfortunately Giants didn't (or couldn't) put in a undo system for landscaping. So you are left with two options - repair the area with the landscape tools or start over (either with backup savegame or new map) - Sucks I know!
@@mgtfighter Try using the smoothing tool - use the M button to increase the size and then increase intensity with the L button and it should smooth out ok (obviously vary the size so you don't impact areas you may not want smoothed) and ignore everything if you already knew this or tried! lol

They clearly *didn't*. The question is between "couldn't" and "didn't want to"? And "couldn't" would mean extreme incompetence. Not that this would surprise me.
They should've never messed with the Landscaping Tool from FS 19! They've gone and made it less accurate and moire difficult to make look natural! The grass paint doesn't even grow from what I have witnessed now and nowhere near the selection!
Gday Rig - I am not sure I agree with the accuracy comment, but it is a individual user thing. With the grass its a two step process. You need to paint the grass texture (or other if you wish) and then paint the grass over it. That will give you grass that is mowable and regrows.
@@Duckzorly True ... but the painting part seems to have lost the snapping feel. In 19 I could get straight lines on the fields edges, and growing grass paint, all in one step! Now it feels more or less sloppy and takes two steps! Maybe I'm too OCD and yes, I know fields are not perfect ... it just doesn't feel as precise anymore! One of those "if it aint broke don't fix it" It worked fabulous in 19
by far the worst tool in the game. I tried to level out a field and it just made everything worse. My tractor is doing a slalom course like its in the x games
