Love your maps and looking forward to the new Oaks - looks awesome, but just a couple of gripes before this one drops. Thought I’d play Saxthorpe after watching your previous promo… Bought a field of Cotton, thought it a bit odd since this was England… Then found there was no where to sell it. Funny that. Also it would be great if the hedges can be removed like fences - in segments, just so you can put in an access or driveway rather than just “driving through”. Also noticed some small ground cover can’t be painted out until you replace with another (like grass), then that can be painted out. Hope you don’t mind the feedback. I’m sure there’s a thousand details to deal with in creating a map of this calibre and detail. Cheers
you can ignore the Cotton, it wont grow after year 1, as for the grass painting, iv been told this has been happening with FS for a while, i don't have the experienced with mapping and the game in general to know what causes that, The Oaks is working ok ATM.. i'm still learning my trade but always look and listen to what players would like in a map.. :)

Been playing FS for a while now and coming from a P'shop background professionally ( think I started on version 2 in the early 90's - it didn't even have layers lol ), I've started swatting up on Giants editor. @@simonhall2326 before i made the jump to rebuild The Osks I had already started making Woodside, there’s some videos in my channel, I still want to finish that map but it may have to be saved for FS25 if it’s happening.. iv got tons of ideas and not enough time, I’m probably fully booked making maps for the next 2 years lol.. and there’s the should I make a 16x Oaks to consider. 🤪

@@simonhall2326 map making can be mentally draining, since I made the original Oaks, Saxthorpe and now re made the Oaks thats the equivalent to making 9 standard maps in 20 months, it can seem Daunting at times, 16x may break me 😂
Can’t wait for this map. I have well over 1000 hours on the original in various different play style saves. Without wanting to delay the release I was just wondering if you were considering using RDM’s choose starter farm mod? I think that would have worked so well with the original.
Hey mate, I’m not sure yet, I’m happy for people to play the map however they choose, there’s over 16 farms to choose from and to play the map exactly how I made it based from the 80’s everyone would have to down load a ton of 80’s mods which I’m trying to move away from as some people think downloading other mods to play a map is to much aggro.🤪
The excellent cinematography and choice of music really adds to the excitement and anticipation. You can just feel it building up to a very climatic .....wait!
@@martinburton1956 yeh, iv got a couple small farms on the map, once the map is ready for final testing pending release hopefully the content creators will help with an indepth look at the map :)
