FSB -- Chris Reeve Tanto Umnumzaan: This One Works 

I know I'm kinda late to this vid...but, I've made the standard zaan my first CR knife purchase last week. Wow. Always been a Hinderer guy. I find that same solidity of those knives in the zaan. Thank you for the vids you put together. You have a great, positive impact on this hobby.

Why not just use the edge pro to maintain the flat on the tanto tip? No micro is the way to go.

Hi Rob, my apologies for my recent absence in the comments section of your videos... Duty calls! Thankfully I've now got a few days to play some serious catch-up! To date I have not been particularly taken by the Umnumzaan design as I've pretty much occupied that void with my three Sebenza 25's. However I have a feeling that's about to change... What a beautifully engineered and stylised design, that to my eye at least takes all the best design accents of the standard Umnumzaan and blends into a beautifully executed "American" tanto. Not a fan of the tanto blade in the Sebenza platform... but boy does it work in the Umnum! I've got four in various configurations and the Umnum tanto hasn't left my pocket over the last few months. True North Knives does offer them in left handed versions as well... Neil confirmed they have more on order and they're expecting some in the next few months. Keep up the great work Rob! absolutely agree the tanto on the Zaan looks way better than on a Sebenza. I guess I'll just have to get a Zaan in tanto and harpoon because the harpoon is just as cool imo

I don't own a tanto knife but that is a pretty cool knife.

Scot has a very diverse collection . I hadn't seen this variation before but I prefer the Japanese style Tanto myself .

I don't know if that was your intent but you got me to order a Sebenza 21 just now. I own a 25 but all that talk about the pivot. Just thought I'll see for myself. Thanks!

Did you do this sharpening with the edge pro? If so, how did you position the blade to do the front section? Did you leave the main portion of the blade parallel to the Edge pro table?

Not liking frame locks, especially in 4" + b;ades. They look & feel like a part is missing. Uncomfortable in the hand & I believe some knife makers do this frame lock to save $. Thanks for sharing
