Marker: First Strike FSC
Projectiles: Grimburg JUL version 2
Barrel: Grimburg 5” barrel.
Magazines:
T8.1/T9.1 aluminum 12g 8-round,
Cymrutec 3D printed 12g 7-round, and
Cymrutec 16g 8-round magazines
CO2 Cartridges: Crosman 12g and Red Rock 16g unthreaded (must be unthreaded and must use with FSC valve with black seal. Only 12g carts fit T8.1/T9.1 valves with clear seal)
Marker mods:
Velocity screw turned 95% up.
Factory relief valve setting.
Grimburg Heat Core O-Ring
Factory aluminum mag release (came stock on my FSC)
Double trigger release spring
Left handed safety

I just bought the 5" grimburg barrel, the FSC, and 16 gram mag. Waiting to receive it and get some other things to add to it I also bought the same pack of co2 you have in video

Good video. The guns don’t get tired. The c02 temp can definitely influence pressure but the gun itself is pretty neutral. I’d like to see a video with Chrony showing the difference between a Grimburg barrel and a rifled Lapco and an accuracy test, if the rifled barrel really matters to a meaningful degree with Jul rounds.

I get that. For some reason “tired” just was the only word I could think of. From a physics standpoint a rifled barrel should have no effect on round ball. I’m fact, it would have a bad effect. Think about a pitchers curveball. Spin on a round ball with any imperfections would make it curve rather than go straight. I believe rifling is meant to keep shaped projectiles from tumbling. If rifling does have any effect on round ball velocity, it might simply be that the rifling causes a tighter bore match tolerance. I’d venture to say that Grimburg is the absolute ideal barrel for Grimburg JUL’s. Of course barrel length is the other major factor and the longer the faster, but I’m focused on maintaining the compact form, so 5” is my personal max.

The stock FSC barrel is garbage the bore is oversized for the joules that we use so there is a ton of air blow by. I know this is an older video but hopefully someone sees this and it helps. 2 things to change immediately on the FSC for less lethal are the magazine to a 12g mag and that terrible barrel throw in the trash and get a 686 bore size barrel the FSC becomes a far better launcher with just those 2 upgrades. After that hey why not change out the bolt spring, sear spring with VKS spring and sear spring. Then do a PRV delete and milsig o-ring and you’ll have yourself a nice launcher for self defense.

The grimburg 5" barrel should shoot 320-340 ..unless the 12g co2 is left in a cool/cold place?

Need to get to the bottom of why the mag doesnt work with grimburg barrels. Annoyingly it works fine with mine so I might try and get a hold of another barrel to test this. Works well with all other barrels just the grimburg one, and I think its because of the shape of the breach, I might need to modify the angle of the projectile channel slightly to line up better. The other barrels have a larger breach which is probs why it feeds better

I'll make some tweaks and send you a new mag to test. Ill add a disclaimer on my site in the meantime that it may not work so well with grimburg barrels.

Ok. Keep it up. You have the best mag designs. Btw, I keep forgetting to mention to you that the factory mags have interlocking slots on the front edge. I think if u can incorporate that in yours it will strengthen the flexing on the front edge, which I think might attribute to it a little

Thanks. Whoops, I said ur name backwards. Yes, I was starting to explain that label but got distracted. I put that on. I was going to warn everyone to label their bags ASAP because there is no way to distinguish from the bags. But the V2’s are significantly made more perfect so even if u mix them u should be able to feel the difference.

Great video, don't use that Chrono inside, won't read correctly, I have the same one and I never get a correct reading inside. It states it in the manual, hope this helps. 👍👍 Also make sure all your regulator screws are tight and including velocity screw and the little screw inside the velocity opening, I forget what it's called, I think it's the relief screw or something like that.

I'm hoping the lighting is what's giving me low FPS values. Either that or Optical chronos score lower than Doppler Radar in general. I am aware that the Optical chronos dont work with florescent lighting, but I have LED lighting, and usually if there is a light problem, you would get an error reading. But I will try to do a true outdoor sunlight test in my next video to get to the bottom of this.

@@BonesDT from my testing, l.e.ds don't work either on this Chrono, I've tried adding lights, moving the Chrono closer to windows, doesn't work. Sunlight would be the best. I know they do sell a light kit specifically made for this Chrono for indoor use, I think it's like $50 to $75 if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the magazine / barrel comparison. I have the Pepperball tcp, stock barrel & Lapco 5" barrel. I have the stock magazine and the Cymrutec 8 round magazine too. I'm having problem with two .68 cal roundballs loading double for the first shot. And excessive jamming with the Grimburg hp68's. Any adustments I can make to the gate spring and mag springs? I'm keeping the fsp down to 300 or below. All combinations show same results! What's up??

I never modded my mag release. It’s the same one that came with the marker. I just mention it’s aluminum because I guess that was a recent silent update. I hear FSC’s purchased in prior years came with a plastic mag release.

Because I can’t. The velocity screw is already turned to the max. Either 1) others claims are exaggerated; 2) my chrono reads lower than others; or 3) the tolerances on my marker are unfavorable. You decide.

@@BonesDT did you change the oring…. And I have see some people get 400 FPS Bu most get 340-350 FPS first few shots

@@xpy1 Yes. I have the Grimburg Milsig Heat Core O-Ring installed. I don't think I've seen anyone get 400fps. Are you sure they are using 8g projectiles? Are they chronoing on camera? Please send links.

What lube do you use on your firing bolt? I found that makes a significant difference in my TCP. Too sticky will slow it down.

I Tell ya,...parts of the problem,..is most times i saw your doin three turns on the co2 after you hear the click of the barrel,..,..too tight,....your dumpin a half tube of co2 on the seals,..then changin mags with frozen internals,..and shooting right away,...youve done these tests with the gun maxed,..getting worst every test,...the guns needs to be cleaned out and everything tightened up and lubed,.....you did alot of shots the day before ,...and alot of shots before and while you recorded,.......shits just prob loose in the weapon or your fryin your seals dumpin all that liquid co2 into the gun every 3 minutes.
