Really appreciate these FSR3/Steam Deck videos! I've had a deck since launch and recently upgraded to the OLED. It's such an awesome little PC that has grabbed about 90 percent of my gametime!
HZD is such a loner: doesn't receive updates or modders attention, people keep forgetting about it and of all the titles, it doesn't gain performance with fsr3 (at the moment hopefully).
Thanks for the support! Yes, I agree, I didn't want to publish this video as there wasn't much performance gain but I thought some people would like to know anyway.
I have to disagree. The game runs on Steam Deck. But that's it. It doesn't run great. I already played the game on my PS4 Pro and I am happy I did, because the PC version on Steam Deck is not my preferred way to play the game, because of performance issues. HZD on Steam Deck has a horrendous amount of traversal stutter, no matter upscaling, low or high settings, SteamOS versions, Cryo Utilities or not. If you stand still or barely walk like in your video, you won't notice it, but when you really do play the game, travel from one area to another, you simply CANNOT notice it. You should test at Makers End. The frame rate dips waaaaay below 30 fps even on lowest settings - The hallway up to the "arena section" with the Deathbringer is the worst offender. Edit: Well, that cam of a bit sour! That wasn't my intention. Nevertheless I like your video! I hope well see more of these FSR mods for "forgotten" games. Thanks!
Windows, and not any, win 10 lite like ghostspectre or something like that, is the way to go when playing HZD. I did like half of the game that way with settings at original almost everywhere 40fps at 40hz and the stutter issue was finally gone for good. Later on I did the other half, cca 60 hours on SteamOS but by that time it was much more bearable and improved. And believe it or not, both Windows and the game were running on the same microSD card. All the other games had worse performance but HZD was way better on Windows. Also the SD card way eliminated the virtual memory crashes and you could put Deck into sleep, leave it like that, pick up and it still wouldn't crash at all.
I think its like avatar frontiers of Pandora, not going to give much more performance when gpu and cpu(or just gpu?) Is maxed out like that, turning on fsr 3 only lowered GPU usage to 92%(goes up to 96% too) from 99%, with CPU dropping to 70%(or 60%) from 76% So probably best to lower settings to get a bigger difference
Thanks as always...off topic question...i have this game but i have to start in handheld mode..pause then attach to tv to use my xbox controller..if i start in dock mode the controller is unresponsive and i have to restart deck and start game in handheld mode to play .anyone have this issue?
BRO... I DOWNLOAD horizon zero dawn cracked version in fit gril websit and i install it on my steam deck and added in non-steam games but its not running or opening plz any solutions ?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG There are many methods. I installed both with lutris but the games don't start. Do I also have to install the Ubisoft app or Lutris is enough to get the games to run
Yeah I wasn't too impressed with cyberpunk when I tried it, the smoothness of 60fps was cool, but the stutters and very high input lag made me switch back (and I am not even sensitive to input lag), and weirdly it looked worse with virtually the same settings. Hoping for improvements though, it's still a great thing to see mods like this being attempted on the deck
