I missed that music at the start of the video. Really brings me back.

Highly recommend this! I already have two of them. My son and I are already designing new DIY foam board airframes that work really well with the electronics from this kit. They can easily fly in my smallish backyard. This is an excellent product for kids (big or small) to get into aircraft design. I'm having so much fun with these. Every time we go out to fly them I'm smiling from ear-to-ear the whole time. Pure fun! I will be buying these kits for my nephews to get them started in RC.

I have the banggood version of this. Just ordered the FT version. I'll update which one is better. I tend to trust Flitetest with everything I buy mind you. Never been let down by them. EVER

A bit different to my first model, rubber powered, balsa, circa 1955. The FT Freighter would have been beyond science fiction imagination at that time. Really enjoy Josh's vids, his enthusiasm is infectious.

To Josh and the crew from FliteTest. I've been tuning into your channels for at least 10 years. Initially I thought you guys where a pack of clowns, however over the last couple of years not only have you won me over I can not understand the importance of the work you are doing. As organisations like the AMA, MAAA, BMFA etc have proved impotent to promote the hobby and protect it from regulatory over reach, the work you are doing in bringing new people into the hobby, inspiring kids into STEM and reminding the FAA what is at stake is beyond priceless. Keep up the great work.

Props to whichever Bixler was handling the camera. It must have been tough to follow that tiny sucker against grey skies, but you gave it a lot of presence in the lens.

Got my kit in the UK yesterday - great effort! I did notice the anomaly in the video and instructions about the battery being front or back. I guess that the centre of gravity is not much changed.

How about making an airplane based on an airliner. Like a DC-3?

Got mine today and just got done building it. I did a few things different and here's why. Glue the motor pod retaining clips on 1st then glue the pod on. The clips clock into the wing much better leaving less guesswork as to getting the pod in position. Leave the vertical stab assembly until very last, this way you don't have to hang the plane off the end of the table. And keep a small drill bit or pin in the end of the glue tip if you're not going to use it for a few minutes. The thread engagement on the glue tube is horrible. I had the entire tip blow of the tube while gluing the control board in and almost ruined the bottom of the plane.

I am saving up so my mom can by this amazing model for me. The ft 787 or airliner did not look too nice. But this is amazing. Would love it if you could support me in anyway possible, but you do not have to.

WARNING! ERROR in the video : 13:00 - 16:30 The electronics package is installed backward. Per printed instructions and the flight at the end the battery compartment is behind the power switch.

Before anyone asks if this is the same plane that’s sold on BangGood the answer is no, it is very similar but the wingspan on the FT version is longer and the dihedral is 1.3 degrees more.

Maybe integrate your chuck gliders with that powersystem on the freighter to make FT NANO FLYERS !!! Like for the p-38 or any of the jets !! Or a bronco too cool

What's the use of the right joystick if this is a two channel airplane?

Just built two of these with my kids this weekend, I noticed in the video your installed the receiver and battery compartment backwards, according to the instructions.

First, I am glad I found this video. But I have a problem to bring to your attention that needs to be fixed. I just bought this only 2 weeks ago. It arrived today. Following the instructions I was greeted with a 404 not found. You need to update your instruction manual materials or your website to reflect this. Edit: Also, just found out the glue applicator isn't even properly hollow all the way through. Instead of coming out of the tip, it filled the cone and started oozing out of the base where it screws to the tube. I am now stuck until I go buy a new tube of glue. Second Edit: I want to be clear, I am very happy with this product. I just wanted to point out a couple things I thought needed some attention.

??? im confused..if you glue the motors and wing in place..how do you reuse them on your 3 stem planes..what size motors and controllers can you buy for the other planes???

Looks like fun, even for someone (like me) that's built at least a dozen of the Foam Board Planes of yours!

The sub 250 gram market is going to grow massively in the uk might be a good idea to sell the motors and flight pack over here for scratch builders I would have one or two.

Ok question FT TECH one thing i have noticed is that the controller has a button for led lights or lights something that was not explain next thing also i notice on the board where u connect each motor too that there are 2 more connector spots and the color of those are blue can u let me know whats it for?or is that where you connect the LED lights? The other thing is also not too much was explained I know it's just a beginning video which helps out but what about the extras like what I just mentioned I like to install LED lights but in relation to the plane just like the real planes which I know there's a cargo plane that resembles it so would like to know what colors and where to install them to give it a authentic look next it would be nice to have a decal sheet to make it look exactly what the picture on the box is at least unless you have more ideas for this Freightliner plane but if the ideas I gave will work let me know either way just need a little help with this since it's my first rc plane I got a drone but I'm locating parts that would be for a different discussion but I'm more into RC cars either way let me know will appreciate the help and ideas thank u and i like it also so let me know thank u

Hey ft, I just assembled this model, and after testing the throttle, the left motor continues running regardless of throttle stick position. It starts running as soon as I connect the battery. Is there a fix for this?

I have a problem with the glue, I attached the transparent nozzle cap to the glue and when I tried to squeeze the glue out, the glue wouldn't come out. Is there any solution to this? Thanks

Flight test I'd like to build a three channel plane with aerolons rudder and elevator that is easy to build and comes with all the pieces electronics and controller in the box and is just as easy to build as this one what can you recomend for me. By the way I live on the island of MALTA in the middle of the Mediterranean sea so shipping cost will be high therefore I need something that is not expesive

Can you use the motors and other parts to build a scratch build?

I would expect something more from FT than just printing your logo outside the Banggood plane box. Ideas for the next one: 1) Have it already built and ready to fly. 2) Another brand for receiver. 3) Maybe another paint job. 4) One motor instead of two with a micro servo at the back. 5) Wheels that come up. 6) Combination with a foam board build of yours for upgrades such as bigger winglets? 7) maybe vertical take off? Come on. This was a bit lazy :-)

Can FT make a P-38 model like this?

Looks like a plane that even a guy like me who have flown som 10+ years could enjoy. I assume the included glue is contact cement, and if so a tip is to actually remove the parts again and let the glue airdry for a couple of minutes, and then put them back. Then the glue will grip much better, but dont wait to long, because then it may stick immediatly and you wont be able to position the part correctly.
