Hi! I’m watching your videos for my upcoming exams. I was a bit confused on the question “which of the sequences below is arithmetic?”. It was explained it had to be the same sequence, but answer D is multiplying each by 2. Would that not also be a correct answer?
Hi Ms. H! That's a great question. In order for the sequence to be arithmetic, the same number needs to be added or subtracted to each number in the sequence. If you're multiplying or dividing, like in choice D, it is a geometric sequence. Terry walks you through those differences at 6:17 in this video if you'd like to review.
