So, I have taken the oae Professional knowledge prek-12 like 5 different times. I have noticed that the 2 essays are the same. But I guess I'm adding the wrong information every single time. How can I fix this?? One is about ESL students and a teacher who had an outline of things the students had to do. I have to tell what he did right and what he could have tried. And then the other is about inquiry based learning. Or it's about how to incorporate deeper level learning. Aka Blooms taxonomy
@@hopebullard460 hi! When it comes to essays on certification tests it’s all about being clear, concise, to the point & always follow the scoring rubric. This rubric should be on the testing site where you registered for the exam.
In a dying industry that no one is going into, the states are making it impossible to pass these ridiculously hard exams! I’m in FL and teaching for 15 years this may be my last!!!!

Yes, I agree. I’ve been teaching in Florida for 15 years and because of Covid and not renewing my certification. I have to take all four tests over again. This is why all season teachers are leaving the profession they don’t support the teachers who have given their lives teaching students I was high impact teacher, two years in a row 2016 and 17 out of only 200 teachers in the whole state and I’m still having to retake the exam. This is insane.

I don’t get this stupid test, there’s a shortage of teachers, in Illinois and they are doing nothing to help graduates students , to pass this test that doesn’t make ANY SENSE AT ALL!!

I live in PA, and I am studying for the Pect Module 2 of my teaching cert. So far, I have written down all my competency that will be on the test. Next, I'm going to take the practice test then focus on the questions I got wrong. I'm going to find what competency the questions I got wrong falls in and write the meaning and examples of the competency. Then what should I do? Keep finding different examples of the competency I got wrong? After i feel ready i will schedule my test. I already have my Masters in education but i need my cert to work as a teacher.

I can't seem to pass my content test. I have spent the past 8 months studying and preparing and have failed it 3 times by only 10 points each time. I even had my dr. prescribe me anxiety meds to take during the test the past time. I believe I only have one more chance to take it.
Hi and thanks. While is true some study guides are just that.. A guide.. there is one book that i can say it helped me to pass because it has at least 90 questions (exactly) like the actual test.... So.. I have to give credit to this company for that. The test was the ESE k-12.....
Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately it sounds like that company conducted unethical measures by taking the exam repeatedly and violated testing laws. While I’m happy you passed, we obviously can’t support a resource like that. Yes...we are aware that some companies do unethical things to make money. It’s unfortunate they get away with it. These exams were the reason why I gave up on my teaching career-the worst decision of my life. After the intense pressure of studying for the TExES core EC-6 and PPR, I was given little time and massive information thrown at me that caused me to fail my PPR and CORE exams. I was never good at studying since I have always relied on my great memorization skills and always managed to pass with minimal effort. Ignorant as I was, I thought this was a memorization game as all my exams were in the past. As you mentioned in your other video. These exams are anything BUT memorization. I wish I would have found this video a year ago. Now I hold a useless bachelor's degree and go through a different teaching program, splurging on more money just to be allowed to retake my exams.

First of all, I purchased the limited study resources online, which were costly monthly, and they did not work. In fact, none of the content was on the test! Go figure! Imagine my frustration and willingness to proceed, questioning myself, is this profession for me??!! So I regrouped and found your video helpful. I needed this. I only have 1 chance to pass my Texes Science 4-8 exam. I am really good at looking at questions I missed and learning the material instead of memorizing the answers.

I'm following but I think I'm confused. We have domains with competencies on mine (TX). Ex: Domain II is US History and under it is competency 008: US as a world power. Sounds like a same difference thing to me but I'm not sure.

Even to the point I switched my degree plan because I thought I wasn't going to succeed..I want to get my alternative certification to teach math. Once I found out about this test and these books everyone is saying to purchase I started to get anxious again. As I am a visual learner. This video gave me hope and a useful strategy. Just for some further insight...how can I apply this strategy for the FTCE SAE Elementary K-6 exam? Its four subjects...each subject containing a number of competencies but each competency has sub-competencies. For example, the Language Arts & Reading subtest has 5 competencies, one of them happens to be the reading process. But the reading process has 11 sub-skills to be covered. How can I go about with the approach for studying for this exam?
Hi Christine! What I lay our here is how you must use your study guide to target concepts you get wrong on a quiz or practice test. So you would have the five comps listed on page one, then put tally’s in the comp you get wrong, then as I discuss, use the following pages as a running record to do the notes (list concept, define it, 2-3 additional examples).

Arizona does not require Praxis but has its own teacher certification exam. The good news is that all these exams are similar, so strategies will work on any of them. You will need to pass the Arizona Education Proficiency Assessments (AEPA) and National Evaluation Series (NES). Let us know if we can help.
