FTIR Microscopy: Optical Zoom 

Here's a quick look at the Optical Zoom feature of JASCO FTIR Microscopy instruments
The IRT-5000 7000 Series infrared microscopes include a simple feature to change the focal distance of an optical element in the observation camera. In most systems a digital zoom is included, but this does not improve the resolution as you zoom in. The advantage of the JASCO system is that you can improve optical magnification- from times 0.6 to times 2 in addition to digital zoom, this gives you the benefit of increased resolution as well as a larger optical image.
