FTL Hard mode, NO pause, Random Ship Streaks! Zoltan B, 34th run

June 27, 2024 stream, playing FTL on hard difficulty with NO pausing! We had a pretty smooth run on the Fed B, and the next ship can be pretty decent early as well: the Zoltan B! This ship needs to spend 100 scrap to get shields up early, but at least it has some pretty good weapons to start. We find an early Burst Laser 2, which makes me hope for a smooth run, but the scrap gains seem a little low. Hopefully, we can fight through and keep the streak alive for a 34th GG, cookie time in a row! -- Watch live at / rand118

Ngl I was yelling at my phone for you to sell the second Ion Blast and buy Long Range Scanners at that store, but when you came up against that scary auto scout in the asteroid field your play of holding onto the Ion Blast really proved me wrong lol

Yeah, I love me some LRS, but I've had to make some different decisions to improve my consistency...like sacrificing utility for immediate combat power in some cases.

I watched some of holo’s no pause hard mode for the first time today, and… wow. But he did move just a “little” faster than I like. Like he knew everything to do instantly, leaving me confused and rewinding a lot. I prefer yours, nice pace for a relaxing watch before bed. But my goodness, he is scary good. Meanwhile I still haven’t beat a hard mode no pause run and I got the game its first sale after release (my first rougelike). Love the vids man keep it up. I believe in 50 at least!

You really handled those early rigger / beam master encounters well, I think in some of your earlier streak attempts this run would've been a reset thanks to either that or the surprisingly low scrap.

This might be a random question, but which is the lastest run which rand has played and gone to the crystal sector? I remember one recently but I forgor.... Anyways rand if you are reading, can I be the Engi B pilot?
