I'm glad that Yaesu stood behind their product. Now, I know I made the right choice buying my FT-65R & FTM-200. Also, thank you for the videos of the FT-65R & FTM-200. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks for sharing your experience with Yaesu and the repair process. I'll have to keep an eye on my 200, as I move it back and forth between shack and mobile like you do. I have experienced their warranty repair process first hand with my FT-65.
I have an FTM200. This week it says it is transmitting, but I get NO RETURN from the local Repeaters, Two of them are on hills I can see from my house. This is my THIRD Yeasu Product in a row that has taken a dump on me. I also had Two FT-891 tank on mens well. When I got the second one back, the service people at Yaesu treated me like GARBAGE! I sold BOTH of the FT-891s. I DO have a THIRD FT-891 now. I'm currently on a trip THREE HUNDRED MILES from home with ZERO 2m or 70CM comms. I'll be checking my HF rig tonight, and if IT has also gone South I will be PERMANENTLY finished with Yaesu products!
A little off topic but be careful if you ever need to send anything into Samsung for repair. Sent my watch in to them and two weeks later on a Saturday night around 11PM I got a message saying the watch was connected to my account meaning somebody was using it. It was on ATT service. Sadly Samsung claimed they had not received it yet even with tracking saying they had it for over a week. Funny thing was I got an email that afternoon telling me they just received it and it shipped back to me the next day. Another funny thing one of the emails from them reminded me they tell you to take your sim card out of it. I replied it had an esim and I would use a hammer next time to remove it.
My yaesu ft200dr I got a line in the display they replaced it but now when I go into hri mode the the a banks the disappears half way. They told wait for a a firm ware update. Wtf yaesu
I chose the 200 and upgraged it with the bluetooth module. Because I dont need a second VFO in the car, the 200 with PMG + bluetooth is the best choice for me. And it still saved me some money.
@@filippetersen1304 Great reply. I was thinking same thing. I have FTM400 and seldom need dual receive. what do you use the bluetooth for and how do you like it?
@@mattb7406 I am using bluetooth to connect the trx to my bluetooth speakerphone through my infotainment systems. The audioqualiry is reasoble but this is of course due to the NF range of the car loudspeaker and infotainment system. So I can lay the microphone ont he center shelf of my car and listen/speak through my bluetooth speakphone/infotainment. As I said, audioquality on TX and RX is reasonable but still a good compromise. We are not allowed to use handmikes while driving here in Germany.
