Timeline & Costs:
I began gender therapy and coming out April of 2007. (Cost per therapy session with insurance: $20. Cost per therapy session without insurance: $90.)
I started T on January 21, 2009. I have been injecting 50mg weekly since then. (Annual cost with health insurance - $50. Annual cost without health insurance: $650 - note that yearly visit to the endocrinologist costs $500 for the conversation and blood work..)
I had my name legally changed (no, I won't tell you my birth name!) September of 2009. (Cost to change it and all legal documents: $180-240ish)
I had top surgery December 2009 with Dr. Melissa Johnson in Springfield, MA. (Cost: $7400, all fees included)
I had a hysterectomy January 2012 with Dr. Travias in Concord, MA. (Cost: $14,000)
I graduated college May 18, 2013 from Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Total $ spent over 6 years on transition related expenses: Over $23,000

I know that some people are against it still, but it's great to live in an ever-changing world where people are becoming more free to be themselves. So glad that people like him make these transitions. They're difficult, yes, and scary, but they make them so mud stronger... they make us all stronger as a community.

Dude, i just found this video again after 3 years and I just wanted to thank you so much. I met someone on this chat site, apparently one of your friends, and he showed me this video and it opened my world up to transgender people and transitioning. It's taken a lot of time trying to come to terms with it, but I myself have realized that I'm trans, and even though I probably would have eventually figured it out I have you to thank for opening my eyes to the trans community. Being a lesbian would be the latter, not the prime. I'm not sexually attracted to Skylar, but I have no problem admitting (the now) he looks mighty fine, since he has male characteristics despite being born as a female. Just like a man wouldn't be gay if he found a MTF attractive. There's no need to be sexually attracted to a gender to find them good looking; and if considering someone good looking =s sexual attraction to you, then you're just an incompetent swine.

Well considering a object or animal attractive doesn't always inhibit sexual feelings to the object or animal. For example: your favorite color is red but you wouldn't date or have a sexual/romantic attraction to the color red. Same thing with kittens/cars/houses. This logic is pretty obvious and simple to understand. If a man, for example, said Kate Upton was "hotter than regular girls" and she was "one gorgeous girl", then it is very safe to assume he would enjoy a sexual/romantic relationship with her. This logic is also obvious and simple to understand. Just because one word can describe both attractions doesn't mean the same logic applies to both situations. If you weren't such a simpleton you would recognize this and not post such a dimwit dumbass comment like you did. It's obvious you find a lot of offense in being semi-lesbian.

videos like this are honestly so great. like i can see people become happier as they get farther into their transition and its just so great. you are one good looking dude, too. i have a friend who is trans and i've known him since kindergarten and it's been so great to watch his transition too because i know he's becoming more comfortable and idk it just makes me so happy and it's so fun to see how people change after starting T.

I seriously want to thank you so much. I remember about two years ago, I watched a few of your videos. Back then, I hadn't came out to anybody already. I was a little confusd about my gender but I knew I wasn't cisgender. You really helped me figure out who I truly am, and watching your videos really inspired me to become more and more comfortable in my skin. ...You're stronger than I am. I know that my parents and would accept me, but the thought of ever physicly changing still terrifies me. I kinda just learned to live with Disphoria. How did you get the courage to tell your parents? Was it hard to come out to your friends? Have you ever regreted it? Sorry. Don't mean to be getting all wibbly wobbly or anything. I know you're probably expecting a reply from Sky, but I just wanted to tell you my opinion. I had/have had the same problem as you. From a young age I just like the things that guys did and I like there clothes and what not. When I grew older I realized that you could be transgender and I started researching and stuff. I started getting all hyped about it and thought like I just needed to tell someone. I started out by telling my friends and then I basically said "screw this, I'm telling her..." So I wrote a quick note for my mom and asked her to come into my room because I needed to talk to her. I actually was really worried about what everyone is worried about - your parents not accepting you. She said I was probably just going through a faze, but if I wanted to do this when I get older that she will help me out anyway she can. By the way, I'm turning 13 in October. Everyone thinks I'm too young to be thinking like this, but all I can do right now is try to ignore my dysphoria. I'm not sure if that helped in anyway what so ever, but I guess I tried.

Breathless Banana yes you are correct that he had surgery but you can see in the pictures that he had top surgery which means his breast were removed and he identifies as man now but I believe that he still has a vagina but he did very well and passed even when he wasn't on testosterone for very long

+skylarkeleven Might I suggest Jiu Jitsu (the Brazilian variant it quite impressive), has an awesome mix of skills, I'll tell you joint locks, nerve pinches and leverage moves will take 98% of the people who will ever bother you straight out of the conversation, giving you more than enough time to use the most important martial art of all, run-fu. Get the flock outta Dodge if there's trouble there.
