Just a few days ago we all expected Starship flight 5 to take place no earlier than late November. But in a matter of days, no, hours this expectation changed to this weekend. And now theire imstalling FTS already! Lets hope everything goes as planned, go s SpaceX!
I like Das's regional accent and the way he pronounces words. It adds to the feeling that we're all friends just chilling. NSF has such a collection of accents/languages spoken on screen; from various brands of English to German & Spanish. It's good.
Idk why people knock others for how they pronounce words, especially here online. In the online space we literally are from everywhere in the world. People speak differently and there’s no single “correct” way to speak.
What bothers me is how _long_ this nonsense has been going on. It's not just on NSF, it's live commentating on LabPadre, RGV Aerial Photography livestreams, etc., usually the same half-dozen comment section disrupters.
fanastic. thank you DAs, Jack , Mary and the NSF team for sharing such wonderful udpates. Cant believe this bohemot is going to take to space and come back in few days time
The pilings were temporally exposed right before hurricane Allen made land fall in 1980, I remember my dad driving us kids down to Boca Chica, before the storm came ashore, I remember being some confused since it was sunny summer day the storm was still way offshore, and caused an extreme low tide, the pilings were actually taller, but the tops got ripped, beach goers who could get access to beach (since the street was practically gone) found some around and the flats way passed the dunes, I actually thought they were completely ripped out, thanks for posting this, If my old man was still alive I would tell him the pilings survived, LOL, ask Mary about Hurricane Allen, I was 10 years old at the time but they said concrete from boca chica highway leading to beach were found around the village.
IMHO, the narration really ties everything together quite nicely. I seldom watched these before Das started narrating, and now I watch every one. Question Das: how did you get that nickname and what does it mean?
If the guys actually building the ships and equipment have been this careful and precise about everything before F5 I don’t even want to know what people from the engineering and software side have been up to. I think it’s gonna be a great flight and no matter what we’re going to see more progress just as we’ve seen with every other flight.
@NASASpaceFlight at the 1:50 mark in this video, those antennas on top of the tower look like they will be used by the booster for triangulation to it's exact location during landing. That is where they will get their measurements from during the booster landing approach.
Holy crap am I nervous for this launch. Mainly because of the catch attempt. I’ve been watching the development of Starbase, the launch tower, the OLM and surrounding infrastructure since the beginning. A miss or anomaly, I feel, and I’m probably not the only one thinking this, will have devastating results to everything. Having said that, I have 1000% faith in everyone involved down there that are working towards absolute perfection. Sunday should be interesting! Thank you NSF for all the work, the effort is epic, for getting it done. Awesome on so many levels. GO FLIGHT 5!!
Yes the wood is to let low hanging cables slide over the tops of a high load. Yes do a video on the Del Mar thing (HA Now you gotta do home work) On tower one they left the flag up until they reeved the cable through. I hope they do the same here. It should be ok as far away as it is.Thanks all... kinda enjoying the Boca Chica radio thing!
The 2 towers did refer to Minas Morgul (the one with Sauron's Eye) and Orthanc (the one with the wizard in white with the palantir). However, Orthanc was made of a black stone, so you just had the colors backwards. Black Orthanc and White Wizard, Saruman.
I think they should wait until the second tower is ready for launch procedures before they try the catch, so if the first tower is destroyed, then they can continue launches from tower 2.
nasa most likely is certifying them instead of faa as they got vested interest for sx to get this system operational asap and at the pace sx needs/wants to go instead of the slow bureaucracy that gov normally operates at.. otherwise there will be no return to the moon before CHN
Seeing all these rocket and space-related stuff has made me realise that the infamous "Rocket Science" isn't really as scary as people say it is, at least in my head. Like, sure, it may be complicated but it's not something that is impossible to learn even for someone relatively normal. To the point that I sometimes joke to myself while studying, "This subject isn't rocket science. And kind of enjoy rocket science. So what's stopping me from understanding this subject I'm studying right now?"
nasa can do flight certs on its own for space.. while sx must go to faa as its commercial... due to starship being needed for return to the moon nasa most likely has taken over the cert job to give sx the opportunity to go faster than what gov normally operates at
I don't think so personally. I read from sources that US Fish and Wildlife finished there review faster than the 60 days allowed to them. I think FAA just worked really hard to speed the review process up. t@@joansparky4439
at 11:06 you state " We do an entire video on the Delmar Beach Resort"? I cannot find it anywhere where do I find this video on the Delmar Beach resort?
Just like council workers in Australia. So other countries are not so different. 20 chiefs, 2 on shovels and 1 spare, 1 on machine. The funny part is only 1 can move at any time but only when the cheifs have a "parley" and tell them what to do in detail (but only 1 detail at a time) ??????
On the banner Starship still has no legs 😭. We aint colonizing ***** unless SpaceX puts legs on these things. The vehicle is cool but catching is totally useless and creates more weight for booster especially with need for burn back fuel. Put legs on both and land down range...
Unless they can target their landing for a safe landing it doesnt matter. Legs on the side of a crater will still tip. So legs are a secondary concern.
