That exactly how I changed the motor mounting on mine too, made a huge difference. No more snagging that’s for sure! I also added a kicked-up skid plate underneath too to help it travel over obstacles.
its like a completely different truck with this arnt they. I should add a plate to mine really as I used metal brace and the bolts are a bit sticking out and catch but this truck has no problems there 🙃 cheers bud 👍😃
🇬🇧🏴👍🏻👍🏻great video informative on this modification Marc I’m sure will help a lot of people that want to change their Kanyon, you just have to take care and time when you do it 🤔😅nice shot s how to,haven’t done this myself yet still avoiding as she’s running ok on the terrain I’m going over,so I will be saving this 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻stay safe and well my friend Dave in Cornwall 💨☔️👍🏻
thanks dave , I didn't film mine and been asked a few times how to do it so took the opportunity, yes mate definitely dont rush it theres not much room for mistakes 😀 may come in handy in the future for you. cheers mate 👍😀🐿
Fantastic job mate it's gonna help people a lot this video with mine I put the shocks soft at the front and stiffer at the back it sorted out the angle then👊🤟🇬🇧👍😎😊
yes I hooe so mate, I've been asked a thousand times how to do it but its a bit hard to explain once already done so I thought I'd video this one. yea I still need to set a few things up but he should be happy I hope, prop angle very important isn't it 😀👍🐿
Hello mate, great video. I've just had my kanyon delivered today and have done the chassis mod, moved battery to under the bonnet area, spot lights moved back and converted to run from power bank. All of this from watching your videos. Thank you! I'm about to do the motor lift but I am also worried about props. Any advice for longevity? Grease I presume but anything else? Did yours ever break?
Hello mate, got my kanyon 3 days ago and just done the chassis mod today thanks to your help. Been looking at this motor mount mod, you said that it can put a strain on the drive shafts as they will be under more strain because lifting the motor. Is the cure for this to replace the plastic ones with metal ones? Many thanks
hello , agh nice job you got the most important bit done. to be fair I just ran the plastic ones until I get a problem, I literally just broke one at the weekend but that was running it on 3s lioo and not the motor lift. just make sure the angle isn't too much and they should be ok.
@@009ADVENTURES ah right fair enough. I'm only running Nimh batteries at the moment, I'm wanting more life than power at present. I might look at doing motor and servo changes down the line, but more concentrating getting the clearance and suspension at the most ideal position.
yea I get you. however if you run it on a 2s lipo you will get a bit more speed and way longer run time without having to change anything only the esc settings as they will run lipo. mine has all been changed to run 3s so don't try that 👍 just upgrade as you go along that's what I always do 👍
@@009ADVENTURES ah I see, well I may invest into lipo in the future. I'm also looking at the ftx outlaw Brushless as a fun speedy bashing car. Then noticed you had got one yourself lol! So it's very tempting to get one of them as well.
ha ha yep I got one, it's a ton of fun that one, I upgraded the pinion and spur gears in mine as it would chew the stock ones for fun but no trouble since . I do push it beyond its limits just to show what it can / can't do and whatever I damage stays in the videos, and there's a few of them 🤣
