FTX OUTBACK GLADIUS 4X4 RTR 1:10 TRAIL CRAWLER - GREY
The latest release in the FTX trail Outback series, the Gladius fuses the latest in design with an affordable price tag for all comers to enjoy.
Featuring the very latest in high clearance portal geared axles, along with a low, forward mounted high torque transmission, manned with robust steel gears, the Gladius is ready to take on some extreme terrain.
Switch speeds between obstacles, gradients and surfaces with the servo operated high and low, 2-speed function or navigate out of a rut or low traction surface by engaging the front or rear diff lock feature.
Aluminium oil filled shock absorbers look after each corner, while a 20kg metal geared steering servo and Hobbywing 40A ESC look after the control via the latest Etronix 2.4gh 4ch radio.
Moulded inner wheel well fenders, side plates with aluminium checker plate inserts add some scale realism along with the moulded grill with headlights and mix of matt and gloss finished bodyshell.
With everything pretty much ready to go inside the box, all you need is to plot your routes and look for a good weather window!

That was impressive to watch. Was about to put 100mm DL on ours but after seeing this might consider those 110mm 👍 . Rear drive shaft popping out might be those longer shocks though? Love the Gladius so much we got two. Can't wait to see what you do next. Great video guys👍

Thank you for supporting the channel. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! Regards, the shocks they are desert lizard dual stage. They are set up for droop. Work fantastic. The car is totally different now, compared to a stock car. The best thing about it is that it costs less than a stock trx4, and it will easily outperform a trx4. Which is a great benchmark for performance and price. The price point is amazing! Really enjoyed this build! 👌🏽

I wish I could get a hold of this in the states! Looks like a great budget crawler! I've gotten a couple of RGT rigs which I think is like the ftx but I couldn't find this model in RGT form 😭

@-Astro-- metal knuckles are £20 a pair that was the only weak point we found. Regarding brushless setup, I guess it's worth doing just to see how it runs!

Appreciate the enthusiasm but way too heavy on the wheels ( kills snappy throttle as well as unsprung weight} far too wide track meaning you now have portals for rocks to hang up on and the desert lizards are set raising the rig too high. The cost is way up there and a standard TRX4 Sport would match it .Keep up the enthusiasm and content .

Thank you for the feedback it's really appreciated! The rig is so much more capable than it ever was stock, so these modifications have improved it for crawling 100% . All the weight is at the lowest point of the truck, which helps the tyres keep contact with the ground no matter the angle it's climbing with in respect. I've got rid of the stock motor and snappy throttle and replaced it with a hobbywing fusion setup, giving more control and modulation on throttle. I think this video demonstrated its capabilities, and the portals never got caught, so win-win there. The desert lizard are 2 stage shocks they haven't raised the rig too high, tbh or it would be tipping over. They are set up for droop and drop into rocks and holes perfectly. Everyone sets up their truck differently depending on what they are doing. But for crawling and from a price point, this has definitely done the job I set out to do! I guess you can't make horses drink if they don't want too 😉 My Gladius is how it's done but to be fair I think you are just better off building something.
