A new homaje to the classic salsa sounds of the 1970's has been released (May 1, 2012) by Miami-based pianist, Grammy nominated producer and band director Marlow Rosado and his band La Riqueña. Entitled "RETRO", the album has been touted as a "major DJ alert" with it's "army of salsa greats and killer dance-club ready tracks that throw fireballs left and right" by thew editors of Descarga.com among other high profile Latin music websites.
This new album, called RETRO, is an all-star release that counts with the participation of legendary instrumentalists and singers, among them: Bobby Cruz, Ismael Miranda, Tony Vega, Luigi Texidor, Marlon Fernández, Kevin Ceballo, Enrique "Papo" Lucca, Salvador Cuevas, Tito Puente Jr. and Quique Dominich

El nombre original de este numero es "La Jicotea" y es del compositor y director de orquesta cubano Rosendo Ruiz Quevedo conocido como Rosendo Ruiz Jr. Hijo de Rosendo Ruiz Suarez otro famoso compositor cubano.

El video se ve de muy mala calidad y poca coordinacion. Aunque es una cancion muy movida - que fue tremendo exitazo de Marwin Santiago, considero que con el talento de estos chicos, el director de este video pudo haber hecho mejor trabajo. ƸӜƷ✫✫✫

Good musicians and great song, but the video was disappointing. For example, the clip of Tito Puente Jr. didn't match up with the music, the woman in red was always dancing offbeat, and I didn't understand the section of the woman sitting outside with rollers in her hair. Too many ideas just sloppily thrown together by the director/editor. Keep up the good music, though!
