The video was a lot of help. Did have a hard time getting it out. I took the flat tipped screwdriver like you said, and pressed against the housing and the filler tube, It took me about 5 minutes or so to finally get the tube moved over enough to slide it out. Slide back it really easy. Whole thing took me roughly 15 minutes from start to finish.
Getting ready to do this with my 15 Durango. Chrysler wanted $100.91 for the part and $436.88 for labor. Of course this isnt a warranty item because we have all "apparently" opened out fuel doors to far and its our fault!
We have a 2021 Jeep Cherokee Limited. I want to ask you a question. How do I replace the locking fuel filler door, fuel cap, or gas tank? Unfortunately. We don't have a locking fuel filler door. Cause crooks could be gas thieves. Because the gas prices are so high.
I had to do one where the door hinge pin broke so I drilled a bit and drove a screw into it. There is like three hinge pin replacements that are solid metal that are made for ford f150s and/or Lincoln's that look like they should or might work. They look like same thing to me just stronger. Wanted to know if anyone has tried one?
Good video, how much does the new unit you bought cost? I need to do this on my wife's '15 GC limited. Her fuel door is having the issue you stated being all wobbly and won't unlock anymore without pushing the fuel opening button while also prying on the door slightly. Makes it hard for her to fill up on her own
@3:10 prying the door part out with the bare screwdriver pushing against the paint.. man what a rookie, this is cringe, there are other vids on here showing how to do it properly.
