I fitted a Barrett Exhaust muffler ( Australian made) to my 800XCx. It cost $500Au ( $300US) and weighed 5 Kg. compared to the 10 kg stock muffler. Sounded good with a baffle plate inserted and needed no change to the fuel maps. For me it was too loud without the baffle plate for long cruising days.
I fitted a new black widow exhaust to my tracer 900, it was the worse thing I ever did to my bike, sounded fantastic but I couldn’t go more than an hour on it because it deafened me. I went down to Bristol (250 miles) to part ex the bike for a tiger, I felt like I had been to a loud concert.
This was an oval one, look at 7:30 and you can see it from the rear. No idea on the carbon one, sorry. Maybe phone Fuel and they should be able to tell you.
Hi, The exhaust was good quality, the construction and finish was good. It is not as perfect as an Akra or similar high end pipes, but at its price it was very good. I did not do a remap, but its likely that it would work better with this done. I don't have the bike any more. Overall the pipe was a good deal.
