Thanks! I got a pretty bad case of hyponeutremia at CIM. Symptoms were the finger swelling, headache, and nausea (not to mention hitting the wall). All this despite hyperhydrating the night before. Unfortunately as a heavy salty sweater, I just didn't get enough sodium during the race with my fluids. Lesson learned, even after 45+ years of running.

I was shocked when I found out my sweat rate and sodium loss. Struggled with my long runs till i understood my 70 ounces of hour sweat rate.

Didn't know you could do more than 1 1/2 scoops of Skratch. I've been afraid if I did more it might trigger stomach issues. I get the "long run hangover" headache. Really liked this episode. I live in the Dallas, TX area and running has been brutal this summer.

I can literally see the salt everywhere on my body when I'm done running. It looks as if white sand was thrown at me.

Himalayan salt in water or lemon water.

My sweat sodium concentration is 1597mg/L. In normal weather or indoors, I'll loose right at 1 Liter per hour. When it's hot, it's at least 2 Liters an hour. I am tall. I've cramped at the end of every marathon I've run and half-ironman I've completed. Even if it's 50°F, I'm still down at least 4500mg of sodium when I'm trying to dig deep in the last miles of a race. Meanwhile, every ounce of regular water I drink only makes the situation worse by diluting my blood's natural salinity. Get in the car, loser. It's 2024, and we've figured out the sodium thing. 😂
