The small sleeve that comes off at 6:00 needs to go back in the correct way around - it is not the same at each end. Also, there is a small O ring inside the mating half that needs checking is present and in the correct position.
@denniscountry9853
@denniscountry9853 3 месяца назад
Does the tapered side sit up and also how does the o ring go?
@hometooflyer2418
@hometooflyer2418 3 месяца назад
@@denniscountry9853 One end of the sleeve is shaped to help keep the O ring centralised. You just need need to check the O ring is not twisted or lying to one side or broken or missing. Try a trial fit of the sleeve in the opposite half of the pump up against the seal to check.

You made that look very easy, I’ve had mine apart twice and it was “emotional” both times ☹️😬 The pump assembly and housing seems over complicated to me? I may look at replacing the whole thing with an after market option in the future. Great video, thanks 👍🏻

Hey brother need your help I have 2000 model Hayabusa same external fuel pump like you. Issue is the fuel pump or maybe injectors fuel pressure is less it is not spraying hard or fast what can be done shall I replace complete fuel pump or change any parts .I recently cleaned the injectors and tried again same issue so it causes problems in starting
@TheAmateurBikeBuilder
@TheAmateurBikeBuilder 3 года назад
The OEM fuel pump is hard to find new and if you can it is really expensive, as you have seen i stripped mine down and replaced all the filters, not cheap but did the job and still running good and starts first time everytime, i would say the problem is the pump, also check your fuel tank as mine had rust in it, the early ones were prone to rusting and the debris ends up in the fuel pump as you saw from mine.

@@TheAmateurBikeBuilder absolutely agreed brother my tank was replaced recently I had read your previous messages. Hello sir. Thanks for the wonderful videos. I need help with my 2006 Hayabusa. It was in perfect running condition last year. For the winter I usually put it in storage however this winter I couldn't find one in time so it stayed outside. I put some fuel stabilizer and let it sit outside for the 2018- 2019 winter in central Pennsylvania - under a nice cover of course. I did start it once every two weeks and it did fire up however since late February, it is not starting up. I was told by some friends to put new fuel and try. So I siphoned out the old fuel and added exactly one gallon for new fuel (highest octane) and tried again, but it does not start. Battery is also new. Here is what happens: The lights turn on, I can hear the fuel pump prime, when I push the start button, the starter turns and cranks, very rarely there is some life from the engine - there is a small roar but it dies as soon as I stop pushing the starter button. Someone also suggested that water could have gotten into the tank, so I put some HEET. No luck still. Finally I tried spraying some starter fluid on the air filter - Still no luck. Now I really do not know what could be the issue . So I need some help / advice on my next steps to fixing the issue.
@TheAmateurBikeBuilder
@TheAmateurBikeBuilder 5 лет назад
Thanks Krit, appreciate your comment, are you trying to start with the side stand up or down ? as sometimes the switch can stick, was the battery connected to the bike the whole winter ? may need to do a load test on it - Battery voltage should be 13.7 when ignition on and 11.65 while cranking , also check the ignition switch and the clutch switch and tip over switch, check the fuses as well, are you getting a spark from the plugs ? check and clean, if you have no luck with this then its more than likely water in the system, which will mean a complete strip down - Tank/Fuel lines/injectors/fuel pump, hope this helps
@recovering_collector
@recovering_collector 5 лет назад
The Amateur Bike Builder . Thank you for the quick reply. The battery is a new one and yes I did try starting in the upright position without the side stand. I have not checked the fuses so I think I will try your suggestion to check them and the spark plugs as my next step to solve the puzzle. Once again thanks for the reply. Cheers!

@@TheAmateurBikeBuilder It is quite a mystery as to what was wrong. This weekend I turned the dealer mode on to see what code shows. I was getting a C00.Since that means no error and I had been unsuccessful in starting it last weekend, I was going to give up but decided to try one last time and hit the start. The first couple of attempts there was nothing, then there was some life as I opened the throttle. On the 5th attempt or so, it came to life.... what a relief. I let it idle for a few minutes and then shut it. Couldn't go out for a ride as it was raining. Now the only difference between last weekend and this weekend was the outside temperature. Last weekend it was in the 30s and this weekend it hit the 80s. No idea what the problem was. However I am glad it started and also thank you for your videos and encouragement. Take care.

@TheAmateurBikeBuilder
@TheAmateurBikeBuilder 5 лет назад
Thanks Abdul, have a look at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-15nqZWmFY8s.html this is putting a busa into dealer mode, there is a list of fault codes in the description of that video, thats the best place to start, then that being said the usual suspects are: 1. Faulty or blocked Fuel Pump, check fuel lines and the fuse or system relay switch. 2. Battery starting to fail due to old age/damage, perform a load test. 3. A discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary. 4. Faulty safety switches/sensors: run/off, ignition, clutch lever, neutral, side stand, tip over, fuel, and or their connections. 5. Broken wire or worn insulation exposing wire to a ground situation especially inside wire harness at tight bends around fairing brackets, under dash panels, under fuel tanks over cylinder heads etc. Many harnesses are open on the ends that will allow water to enter and accumulate at v-bends. Dielectric grease and contact cleaner are your best friends for wire/cable/harness connectors, look for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets. 6. Installation of aftermarket accessories ie. exhaust systems, mufflers, air cleaners, fuel tuners, electrical component etc.

at 0:46, which fuel line connector goes to the filtered line from the tank and which one is the return? Is your thumb on the return? I've had it explained both ways, and had it connected both ways, and now my fuel pump has burned out. (probably when it was connected wrong, it pulled in some crap from the tank (just my theory). Thanks!
