Thank you for this. Im no mechanic by any means but I DIY every vehicle ive owned and this content you provided helped to put me in the right direction. Thank you.
Thank you vertu much. The last guys comment made me really past attention to you and he court your way of explaining rib was perfect I didn't even have to finish your video. The way you explain The a/c made me realize I mediate that I forgot to put my oil cap back. Thank you so much that little mistake would of been costly if not foot you, peace love and soul brotha.
Damn good video my guy!! I've watched Atleast 20 videos of guys did good but I think your way of articulating this problem is what did it for me!! Thanks for making the super informative video!! You remind me of every teacher I had that really cared about the information they taught about!!👌🏾👏🏾
It may be an optical illusion but that injector appears to be seated at an angle. I would be interested to learn what the final fix was for this. Great video.
The manufacturers use plastic on automotive parts because they know the plastic will break sooner or later and it costs money to fix them and because plastic parts cost less make
My 2016 A6 3.0 has a fuel smell also. I can only smell it when I’m motionless or in park after I drive and it’s really starting to get to me. I can’t smell it from underneath the car but I can smell it from the engine bay.
@@Jay5hundoCheck the fuel delivery fittings and lines under the hood. In my case it was smelling from bad tank cap on the filler as well as evap cannister. It can be a line from the purge valve leaking vapors as well under the hood
2000 Cadillac Seville STS after I put seafoam in the gas tank and I used A/C pro to fill up for the a/c i got in the car the next day and all I smell is gas. Been like this for about 3 days now
5:47.. If you watch closely, you can see fuel drip from toward the top of the injector on the left hand side. Probably needs a new o-ring.. but could possibly be a crack in the fuel rail.
Really appreciate this video !!!!! My dads a mechanic and I’m trying to be more independent very informative video bro. God bless I have a question for anyone reading if there is engine codes on car will engine light also come on in most cases?
Thankful that owner taking gas smell action with Kenny ! Many Kia, Hyundai vehicles have caught fire. Guess that cheap plastic fuel rail says it all. You buy cheap Korean car, get cheap parts with equally cheap dangerous quality. It's worse with DI because the fuel line and rail must be leak free at > 3000 psi. No place for cheap quality parts.
I got same issue and same spot no. 1 injector toyota vvti. The smell is like less strong smoke (burning oil or fuel) . Idk if thats causing it and i suspect also oil overfill.
Interesting video. I have a general question. If fumes are coming from the engine bay, how do they get into the air intake for the cabin? Is the rubber seal for the bonnet just not good enough at separating the two?
There's a vent that pulls in air for the cabin, it's near the wipers. So the car pulls in air really close to the engine. When Kenny says, "recirc" he means recirculation of the cabin air. So that lead me to the vent pulling in the air.
I have just come to understand that my girlfriend flies on a magical carpet , when. I point out maintenance items the response is either “I’ve never had a problem with it “ fuel leak smell , “my car has never had a car leak before “. This will be a car on the side of the road on fire in the near future , I just never met someone as oblivious to car issues in my life .
@@FjoriKarabina i have spent $60 thousand plus for repairs to my 2012 Diesel and $15 thousand plus for my 2019 gas sprinter. Love working out of them hate repairing them. Im ready to burn the 2012 if it goes into limp mode again
@@ptech88 Bro i have a mercedes benz w203 of 2001 , 220 cdi diesel , i swear i am in Albania and we have cheaper service costs for the cars , and between 2019-2024 i may have spent 6000 € , it is so comfortable and such a beast on the road , but the maintenance is a pain in the ass , totally understand you
Okay this is so random. I have a 2010 Sedona I'm smelling gas for the past year on and off doesn't smell on the highway but after you run it really hard and you slow down you will smell it all throughout a parking lot😅. Why I'm posting this comment is because of the year making model. I literally just wanted a general explanation in this video is a home run it❤😂
I don't like it when mechanics say," We are going to do this or that." Instead of acknowledging it's the customers prerogative when it comes to what happens to his or her vehicle. I stopped going to a shop because of that arrogance.
Yesterday, my Kia Picanto old one, went through change of brake discs and pads rear and front. Back home, I’ve got a strong fuel smell inside which didn’t have before. Could it be something they forgot to adjust, damaged or what could have happened? I’m dying for tomorrow to arrive and ask but I’d like to have an idea if they might have forgot something? Also, I’ve found a metallic piece seating on the back seat just under the belt. Have they forgot to put it back? 😮 Please, if you read this, HELP! I’m scared as first it was quoted £288 then I ended up paying over £500 🥺 Thank you 😔❤️
Hi Kia owner! It's Mrs Wrenching. I would go to the repair shop first thing in the morning. Kenny would hate to have a customer worrying about their repair. That being said, having brakes done all the way around would not cause a fuel smell in the car. I have had mechanics leave tools in customer cars though. Get with the shop in the morning & get some piece of mind. Your brake pads will squeal when they need to be changed. It's good practice to have your mechanic check your brakes every time you have your oil changed. I get my oil changed every 5000 kilometers. That way you should be able to avoid another BIG brake bill. I hope this info helps. Thanks for watching! PS let me know how everything goes - Megan
Hi, Thank you so much for the video. I have a 1997 Ford escort and I smell gas not to long after a cold start. Soon after rolling down the road, I have to open all the window🤢☠️ would really appreciate any help or ideas with this. Thank you, Diane
It's something you really need to investigate. I don't think the Escort has fuel lines that run in the vehicle , but I'm not 100% on that . I'd check the fuel rail for a leak . Also , try turning the interior air to "recirculate" . If it's on recirculate, and the smell isn't as bad , then you have some sort of leak under the hood
Very hard to say as there are quite a few components in the fuel system. There is nothing I know of that's a common failure on pilots or any of the Honda V6 fuel systems
Here's one for you. 2012 Ford escape XLT. Overwhelming fuel smell inside cabinet. Zero smell outside. Car doesn't have to be running. (I've had it parked since I noticed and there was really no noticeable difference while running). No code. I haven't been driving it so don't know about mileage difference. No leaks found. No problem filling up. Just eye watering fumes inside. Any guidance/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
If the fumes are coming from under the hood, would you smell it when the heater is on? I smell fumes every time I’m stopped at a light, but not when the windows are up
Our nissan had a bad fuel smell after cold start. Then disappears when it warms up. All the spark plugs were loose and leaking vapors. Think thats why they sold it so cheap.
I just got vakve hasket cover akd valve adjustment done few days ago and now there is a gas smell through vent inside cabin. Honda says it not rekated to vakve gasket. I have 2016 accord 2.4l what can be the reason
They could have very well disturbed a fuel line . I believe you have a fuel leak . I would have the dealer check it to be certain. You never had the smell before the work was done . I would make sure they know this
@@nikhilgaba1 the engine stops ignition on purpose as to protect itself during unneccesatry revving. it a function that the fuel injectors keep going in time but ignition is cut causinf fuel to dump into each cylinder and escaping its normal.
Doubtful . Usually, water settles at the bottom and will get sucked thru first. Dry some isopropyl alcohol (dry gas) . That will help if there is moisture in the fuel. But I think you have other issues
Had this on my 2020 Altima dealer ship said they couldn’t find the leak and charged me my 165$ fee I had taken it to a well known after marker shop in my area and said yeah my injector had a small leak for that to go bad in 4 years is ridiculous I get with this vehicle 180k but on a car that’s 4 years old with 65k that’s poor manufacturing by Nissan in my opinion and
I have the same exact problem Except it's not from the Ac on ,,it's just The defroster on which is basically the ac on lol and it only happens on occasion,, I also had a evap leak code.. which I have reset a few times one was p044 m then I checked the gas cap and all that reset the code then got a p045 code , reset that then it threw a P044 code again after a week or 2 ...What should I do smoke test it? What would more than likely be the cause. Any help would be appreciated.. I keep my tank between 3/4 and full most of the time so it doesn't really have a chance to really throw a code again.. even though I could reset the codes anytime I want as part of my aftermarket head unit, but I'll smell gas for a second or two.. then Goes away... Might not come back for another week or two sometimes even a month ... It's the first time I'm actually dealing with an evap problem in any car... what should I check ? Yeah the car doesn't smell outside of it just on occasion with the blower/Defroster motor on full Which is basically the vent open ac on.. Just going through videos... Don't have any other smells around the car and my gas cap does look pretty good the seals and everything.. It doesn't happen often that's the thing ,, obviously it's dumping fumes Pretty quickly then dissipating .. I've already looked at the lines they look pretty sturdy and in pretty good shape
Hi. I got a question. I have a ford escape 2002 v6, but the check engine turn on with a code cylinder 5 p0305. I already changed spark plugs and coils, but the engine kind of shakes and smells like gas fuel. It runs roughly and the catalytic converter overhead red. What do you think that the problem is?
