Wow you have been the first to explain it the way I like it I've been struggling lately after surgery being off training for six seven weeks up to 2 months before getting back on it on top of that I'm in Florida so the heat it's nasty ugly and not the best for long distance but I'm still manage I am 61-year-old going for Chattanooga September 25th I got about 8 more weeks and even though it's not the best I'm going to calculate all my nutrition base it on what you just explain it and see what happened thank you and keep up the good work you have been the best so far.

How does this vary based on weight? What did you weigh for races and how would that change for lighter or heavier athletes?

You guys do the best practical advice for training and races. Any suggestions on gels for the running portion of IM. My stomach is fairly sensitive, I've been training with gu and hammergel and tailwind. The bike portion should be fine but I won't be able to carry enough gels so I'll have to stop at aide stations. The Maurteen gels work for me sometime bit others it kills the stomach. Coke and Redbull are fine, but gatorade endurance also is hit or miss. Thanks!

Remember to train your stomach just like training your swim/bike/run by using your nutrition in your training sessions. I prefer the PowerBar gel. I also recommend people use gummies (and gummy bears are good) and put one in your mouth every mile.

Thoughts on taking Imodium before a iron man… when I run hard my stomach starts to hurt and cramp and feel like im going to crap myself. People say Imodium can mess up hydration status?

I carry 3 or 4 bottles max with me and then grab bottles at the aid stations and/or special needs.
