Is your Duke running rough at low revs? Modified your bike and worried you might damage the engine? FuelX Lite is an autotune, fit and forget product that will work for you at a great price.
Or for the racing guys who run fixed maps, do you have issues with the stock map overriding your map in the closed loop? FuelX Pro allows you to change the AFR at the touch of a button.
FuelX Lite and FuelX Pro are both easy to install and run an autotune to keep your AFRs where they belong.

Do you think the Lite would be able to handle an open airbox lid? Or would that require a more substantial piggyback?

Hey, I have the same Duke 390 with a decat and a DNA stage 2 Airbox lid mod used together with my Rapidbike Evo Exclusive. Would you recommend to install the Fuel X lite as well for some extra power? I am planning to use a Leovince Slip on too.

Does this device make the closed loop on the duke 390 an open loop. I have the powertonic ecu piggyback device already installed on my bike with a paid for custom map and know the bike still has a closed loop to about 60% on the 02 cencor before its open. I did use an o2 censor delete from Power Commander with mixed success. I'm sure a saw a vid saying you could the powertronic ecu and the fuel X together. For maximum results. Can you shed any light onto this.
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius 4 месяца назад
Difficult question to answer since there are two FuelX products - the Lite certainly does not make it open loop because it is autotune, and both connect to the O2 sensor, so it would make no sense for them to make it closed loop. Pro may make it open loop because it is just bumping the maps - but still it's likely closed. Do they work together - yes, Race Dynamics are quite clear that the two products can be used together but they would achieve different objectives.

Looking to add the Fuel X Lite and/or the Powertronic piggyback you my Duke 200. I am wondering though if the Fuel X is even needed/worth it if I am going to run the ECU piggyback. Does running the Fuel X add any actual improvement to the ECU piggy back? If so, what? I appreciate any insight you can give.
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius Год назад
FuelX is designed to work with the PowerTRONIC unit. If you only fitted one, I would go with the FuelX Lite, not the other way round. The PT unit is a great one, but it relies on having the right map loaded - an incorrect map can damage your engine, and the maps loaded on the unit at the factory are a starting point for your map, they may or may not be appropriate for your build and how and where you ride. Even if you have the perfect map loaded on the PowerTRONIC, the Lite will fine tune the fuelling as environmental conditions change - bear in mind that the PT unit is designed for the race track, not street riding, so the Lite helps to bridge that gap.

Hey David, Greetings from Jersey Channel Islands! Love your work and attention to detail. Recently upgraded my 125 Duke to a 390 Duke. Just ordered the FuelX lite as bike stalls randomly while on traffic etc. I assume will fix the problem (speed limit in Jersey is 40mph.. got to behave lol). Stay well and keep on "Ready to Race!!"
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius Год назад
Thank, nice upgrade. Going to be hard to keep that speed down! Watch the clutch control - just a little bit too much clutch, just a little bit low on the revs and it will stall regardless of fuelling - it's a compromise with a fast revving engine and don't be tempted to change up too soon - the bike loves the revs.

@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius Год назад
This will work with your PowerTRONIC unit. If you use the Lite it will correct fuelling issues in the map, if you use Pro you can use it to bump the fuel levels in your PT map up and down to compensate for changes you haven't altered the map for, especially useful if those changes are short term like running at a different track or location.

I don't recommend resetting the ECU. Your ECU is currently optimised for your location and riding style - as much as it is able to. The Lite can then just optimise that. If you reset the ECU then it will need to relearn from scratch all the parameters and it will just make the learning period longer.

@@MotoMirius awesome thank you for the quick reply! I'm subscribed and I'm going through all your vids and liking them for sure. I'm not going to change the sprocket as I do ride on the interstate from time to time where the speed limit is 80. If the bike doesn't like lower revs, I'm just going to keep it at higher revs for now when practicing low speed stuff and maybe think about getting a fuel x lite at some point (maybe). Right now my biggest problem is stalling sometimes after doing a stoppie when the rear tire gets back on the ground and I'm trying to take off real quick without ever putting my feet down. I don't stall doing this drill with other bikes that I have more muscle memory with. I just remind myself to be more patient/focused with the Duke, stay relaxed with my upper body, squeeze my knees against the tank a little tighter, and give it a little more gas while slipping the clutch out than I normally do. When I do that I don't stall after the stoppie and keep going just fine and I'm doing that more often than not now. Just reworking my muscle memory a bit I guess from past bikes. I like the idea of the fuel x but if the engine wasn't designed for lower revs I guess I won't force it to work there artificially and just get used to it how it is like I have been.

@@MotoMirius thanks for getting back. I don’t know any of this stuff. I’m 58, have had a triumph speed triple, triumph Daytona 675r and currently a used ktm 990 superduke. Love the torque of those bikes. I think all I need for the back roads and occasional freeway short run is a ktm 390 duke. 50-60 mph on back roads, and passing speed if needed on freeway. Maybe I’ll learn track riding, I don’t know. I’m thinking a 2023 ktm 390 duke, core out the baffle on stock exhaust or get not too pricey slip on. Next do the air breather thing and one of these piggybacks to improve ride quality. Think I would be ok with the stock sprocket set up. The most reliable set up without headaches. Coiner has some things on line, but it’s $550 and $850 with some pipe thing, I guess to eliminate the catalytic converter. Ah OK. Pro is a specialist tool for professional tuners (hence the name), it's designed for professional race teams so they can do a hard and fast hack on race day without loading a new map - it is NOT designed for street riding - I see a lot of people fitting this and it makes me cringe. The Lite is the autotune unit for street riders. I'd ride the bike stock first before you even think of making changes. The trouble with a small engine is that a 10% increase in power isn't' really very much in actual powers so a couple of % from small changes isn't very noticeable at all. Bear in mind that the engine isn't designed for pottering around at low revs, you need to use it as you describe for back roads and ring its neck - this is what the engine designers intended. Most of the mods you see are more sound oriented not power. I would suggest debaffle, cat delete (do not delete the ugly black presilencer), airbox lid filter and the lite. A cat delete pipe isn't much money and you will be well under the numbers that you are talking about.@@michaelrieser9928

If you are riding with just the stock ECU then you need to do some testing to see what the setting you need is - there are a number of factors which drive this - temperature, humidity, altitude etc which means there is no advice I can give you as this will be different for you than for me even if we both had exactly the same bike setup. Be VERY wary of using a setting because someone else thinks it is the best one - this is an easy way to damage your engine, and engine rebuilds are very expensive. Hi , I have a project with my duke 390 , I am buying an adn high flow cap filter ,a k&n high flow filter, I have a full system non catalytic exhaust "akrapovic"(Chinese)😂 and a gray area ktm injector . The question is a Fuel X lite configures all that well? Or do I have to buy a powertronic ECU? I really don't look for final speed, but the as optimal performance and if that gives me more horses is a plus ,but I look for smoothness and responsiveness ,with good performance , I love it but like it lacks something else 💪.

According to the Race Dynamics engineers the Lite will adapt to all levels of change. Getting the right fuelling will help not so much with improving the power but in correcting the things that are currently losing you power. But for actual power improvements you need a full piggyback and spend time on the dyno so the map and build are all optimised.

@@MotoMirius Thank you always, all your video are very good and educational, already told me that the fuel X works but do not install the injector, everything else if. And if I want the injector than install a powertronic or rapid bike evo and take it to dyno. I just wanted to improve its efficiency but not invest so much money. I appreciate your guidance
