I’ve come back to this video so many times now. I love this game! I’m currently in chapter 9 of my first playthrough. Regarding the requirements to get the true ending, from what I can tell they actually went back and patched in some QoL features, letting you know you’re going to want to rank up your affinity with this character, as well as adding a “Retry Mode” available after beating the game, which essentially acts as a New Game+ except you start back at chapter 7 instead of the very beginning.
@@TarksGauntlet Oh man, thanks for the pin! Yeah, it's a fantastic update. I'm really glad they're clearly listening to feedback and making fixes and improvements where they feel it helps. Also among the updates are things like being able to check what materials you need for Taranis facilities when you're at shop in towns between chapters, so you no longer have to rely on guesswork or writing things down. EDIT: Just beat the game and can confirm the pinned comment is true! It also explicitly tells you exactly what you need to do to get the true ending. Carried over into Retry Mode are all character levels and Taranis upgrades, and even items and resources, best I can tell, and even expedition locations. Additionally, characters who had died are all brought back to life AND given a level boost to make the trip back through the game even easier.
Fuga is incredibly underrated, took a chance on this game since this is CyberConnect really trying to step out into their own, and what a good game it is. I can't wait for the other two games in these thematic trilogy.
I absolutely loooovvved Tail Concerto back in the day. I even started watching the cutscenes a couple weeks ago, to get back all those feels. I sadly missed out on Solotorobo :/ I didn't have a DS when it came out. However I came across a Noisy Pixel review of this game and just about fell over in excitement! I am so glad they are keeping this series alive. The art style and absolute love that they pour into these is just such a joy to play. Really glad to hear that it turned out well. Amazing and thorough review as always! Also as a professional video editor I just want to say that your vids have been progressively getting snazzier. Love it! Love the title template animations and cuts for comedy. The "heh" cut was hilarious. Keep up the good work ya filthy motha-FUGA (I think it works haha)
To be completely honest, I would be one of those individuals that would have completely blown by this game if not for your video. So thanks for putting it on my radar! I'll definitely be checking it out at some point!
I'm a big fan of CyberConnect, and it makes me so happy that they're getting to continue their passion project. This is the first Little Tail Bronx series game to be available on platforms with digital distribution, so it has a much higher sales "ceiling" than previous titles, since it isn't limited by print runs and will basically be perpetually available to new interested players!
I really liked this game! I was initially turned off because of the difficulty but i read some helpful tips online. Basically boiled down to 'employ a buddy system at the beginning and have the characters max out their affinity with their buddies as soon as possible in the early game' second piece of advise is accrue and save link attacks with as many pairs as you can for the boss fights'
Amazing review for what seems to be an awesome game. Will play it eventually, because right now it is 215 bucks where I live (shitty countries being shitty, yay). Fun fact: fuga means flight (escape) in Portuguese. Thanks for the content!
OMG! Solatorobo is a great game, one of my favorites of the DS library (a little repetitive on the gameplay side, but probably have the most charming and lovable characters with whom I have ever played). Thank you for sharing this one, I have no idea that the same developers are still around.
Loved it. Still have to go back and get the best ending (yeah i didn't get the social ranks with that character). I guess i'm part of the inner circle now.
Before, I never understand furries, but after meeting Flam Kish, I felt things. She's hot...yeah. Anyway, I love what they did with Fuga, especially with the art direction, OST (by Chikayo Fukuda baby), and COMBAT mechanics. They made it so damn fun to play! Though they definitely should add save options, more gameplay variety, and improving the AP management as well as the affinity system. Also, I achieved the true ending on my 1st playthrough through sheer luck hahaha. Overall, its 8.9./10 for me. Definitely would recommend. (My favourite OST got to be "Flower on the Trails"!)
This game looks fantastic. I can't wait to give it a try. Maybe you said it and I missed it, but do you know if they will have a physical release? It's sad when gems like this only release digitally. Either way, I can't wait to play it! Thanks again, Tark!
This game actually was on my radar for a while...but this game scares me. I don't want to use the soul cannon on such cute characters, arrghh, resource management? Arrghh! PTSD flashbacks of Valkerya Chronicles (which I still haven't beaten yet). I'll probably still buy this game (most likely in a sale though....then 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim....(my backlog is huge...)
Europe I take it? I've heard from people in my discord they still can't get it there. Not sure what's going on as they seem to have resolved the other issues already, but where this is their first self-published title I wouldn't be surprised if all the ducks weren't quite in a row for that launch yet. Sucks too, cause the series is way more popular there than it is here.
@@TheMacC117 I didn't. It would have been around 300 after tax here and that's way too much for me. From what I seen in other people's videos though the figure looks really nice.
Characters being injured ore depressed is a lot rarer then you make it out to be. You dont have to spend AP that often to cure that. Spoiler alert: I did not get the true ending which resultets in a forced Soul canon use at the end. The funny thing is I choose not my least favorit character. I choose my favorit character going out as a heroine.
I think the first thing really, really depends on your playstyle and what/how you've been investing as you go along. In the later half of the game I was having to do it for at least a couple characters every rest stop.
I saw this game well browsing the eshop and thought it looked neat but the fury shit stopped me from getting it this review might have just changed my mind the mechanics look fun
I dont really get what peoples issue is. Is Furry not just a term fore people who like humanoid animal charcters? What do you even mean with furry shit? Honest question.
Tarks: *delivers a 23 minute informative video into the story, mechanic, and overall depths of a game I've never heard of* What My Brain Heard: "Hey John, there's a game with cute dog girls in it, and it's a RPG with board game stuff and social elements. Why aren't you already playing this!?"
I don't think anything will be "13 sentinels of anything" ever again, that games too damn special haha. But this game at least stands a stands a chance of unfortunately sharing the fate of the last two series entries.
It's a shame the game had fallen into obscuirty again. It definitely falls down to Cyberconnect having a horrible grasp on how to advertise and spread the word either due to lack of budget or other factors. I only just found out about it cause a friend mentioned it passively
Hey with Fuga 2 coming out in a couple months I am curious if you are going to do something to bring attention to that. Forgive if you are and I wasn't aware. I am hoping this and sequel along with the Little Tail Bronx series in general get notice like with Klonoa.
