I'm a new hobbiest about to get my first real camera - the X-T5 - for a mix of travel, street, and family stuff. Part of the reason I'm not going X-S20 is because of the lack of weather sealing which seems important for travel. That and after renting the X-T5 and A6700 for a week, I discovered I like tilt screens way more than flippy screens!

Believe it or not, I get great Landscape shots from my X-T1 and 18-55mm kit lens. Having said that, the X-T30 II with a 35mm 1.4 does a great job. Street photography, yes, my X100S does a great job.

I use the XH2 for landscapes. One advantage over the XT5 is that the electronic viewfinder has greater resolution which I find useful..

For a budget camera, I’d recommend picking up a good used XT-2 or X-E2 from a reliable camera reseller. They are two great cameras that will serve the purposes of many serious camera enthusiasts.

I'm using X-T5 and X-H2 for multiple uses, personal + client work. I've been loving the X-H2 + the recent XF 150-600mm for birds and wildlife. 900mm ff eq field of view and 40mp is fantastic for small subjects at a distance. The lens reach + cropping ability with 40mp is a nice fit for me. Some say X-H2S for wildlife because of the autofocus advantage (I haven't tried the X-H2S). I'm satisfied with AF on the X-H2 and would miss the cropping wiggle room 40mp gives.

My first fujifilm is X70 in 2019 after my ricoh gr failed. Then XM1, XE2, and X100F, sold it all but my X70 always with me, best compact for everyday camera, travelling, documenting family, street photography, and surprisingly fujifilm never make compact camera like this anymore.

And I'm here burning my X-T5 for landscapes, wildlife and street. I've yet to use it on an outdoors portrait session but I trust it will do fine. Hopefully by the end of year I'll grab an X-H2s for wildlife and video. If you are a dentist with money to burn I think for landscapes and portrait the best choice is Medium Format (GFX line) for the increased dynamic range and MP to work with. At least its what I would pick if I were such a dentist lol. Happy new year, Booray!

Booray, I just found your channel a few days ago, and as a Fujifilm enthusiast, I’mlearning more about Fuji than I’ve learned in the five years I’ve owned one. I’m currently shooting an XT-2, and loving it. I like your style of teaching, because although you have opinions, you also welcome opposing views. Civil discourse has all but disappeared in today’s society…which is incredibly sad. Progress as a society is impossible without civil discourse.

I shoot nature, wildlife, candid kids macro, so probably a bit of everything and have gone with the XT5. For me the only down side is sometimes with wildlife on continuous shooting it can take time for the lag to catch up. But I still get amazing images. I went with this as I already had the XT3 and like the dials on top and the screen setup. Best camera I've ever owned and I came from canon DSLR full frame. Still own the original X100, amazing little camera

Special shout out to the Fujifilm x10 & x20 of years past. You get the x100 line look & feel but only main difference is sensor size. You get flash, shoots raw and it even zooms (28-112) while still remaining compact. Think that makes it a contender in travel, street photography & budget category.

I have used about four different Fujifilm cameras in my journey so far and that's only been about a year and a half but I pretty much agree with everything you said couldn't fault it I would probably add one thing if you are serious about landscape Photography Maybe the GFX system is the guy having switched over to GFX for my landscape photography I can now see why everyone was raving. How good it is. It is a different beast the dynamic ranges the big thing for landscape Photography you're often in situations with uneven light. Now in saying that I did really well with an XT5 for my landscape photography, and I actually sold a lot of prints as well when I did use the XT5 the colour rendition, and also the sharpness in that camera is grateful landscape photography, but there will be certain certain situations you're going to run into that are difficult from a landscape perspective, but that doesn't mean that it's a bad landscape camera. If I was to given an award for the most underrated camera, the S-10 that little thing packs a punch, it has the same sensor as the XT4 and it is a phenomenal little camera. If you don't have a lot of money and you want to get into Fuji, just get the S-10 and go and play. You'll take great photos and you'll think that life is good again because it is. Sorry for the long message, I use voice text because I can't be bothered typing. I'm at an age when I cannot be bothered typing into a little keyboard.. The great thing about Fujifilm is, and I don't think you mentioned this, but it's probably worth mentioning is it really doesn't matter too much which camera you get you will get similar. Looking photos from pretty much every Fuji camera because of the simulation if you're using JPEG, but even in general the raw photos look quite similar in most of their cameras and I actually think that's a good thing. It's consistency across the line of cameras. Always enjoy your videos mate and keep them coming. I am planning my own RU-vid channel this year. It will be a little bit different and won't be so much about gear. It will be about landscape Photography and the spiritual mindfulness education around landscape photography which is something Im passionate about?

Started in Fuji with used x100f but needed a camera with changeable lenses so I sold it for almost what I paid for it (regret selling it). Wanted to stay small and light with flash for travel. Went to x-t30ii but hated the position of the Q button (tried to disable it but kept getting messages) sold it. Then x-s10 - nice camera but soon after I bought it the x-s20 came out with better battery, ibis, sensor, and autofocus. Sold the x-s10 for the x-s20. Really happy with this camera as a backup for my Sony full frame and especially for travel. Still keep looking at the prices for used x100v’s and hoping Fuji announces the new x100 version soon so photographers like yourself start unloading your x100v’s!

the x-t5 may well be best suited for controlled lighting portraights, the x-h2s is probably best suited for outdoor natural portrait shoots, especially if the subjects are moving in the frame. The X-h2s has a stacked sensor which is its headlining feature.

Thank you for this video. I’m a street shooter and looking forward to the X100R or VI. I am not paying a premium for a used body. I can wait for the new body. I’m hoping for the 40MP sensor and processor 5. I want IBIS and a sealed body without buying the filter. This will give the Q a run for the money. Have too many cameras. XT30 & XS10 for small & ligh. XT4 for general use. You didn’t mention lenses. A video of its own. Is this your next video? Just purchased the 27mm pancake. Love the versatility of the kit 18-55mm lens. Very important to mention the OIS. Love the 23,35, & 50mm chrons. Small, fast, lightweight, and cheap. Dentist with money to burn? Look at Leica. Who needs medium format? Not me. I don’t do advertising or professional portraits. I need small and lightweight. This ain’t that. We need to use the right tool for the right job. Thank you for your review. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

I agree with you 100% regarding the X-pro3. I would love to have it, but I won't pay the price for it. Specially not since I have the X-T30 and X-T3 which both have the same sensor. I am waiting excitedly to see if there will be an X-Pro4 and what awesome features it will have, but I am pretty sure that won't be in my budget until it's been on the market for several years.

Hi again- I am a big fan of Fuji. Probably how I found your channel originally. I have owned several Fuji products. I had the x100F until I kicked that down to my daughter and upgraded to the x100v. I also have the XT5. Here’s just something to noodle on. I love street photography and have the best subject on a daily basis. NYC. Most times I prefer the xt5 with my 35mm lens over the x100v. I switch back and forth now and again. The only reason why I think I prefer the xt5 and it’s not because of the lens. It has to do with how I shoot and the low angle I tend to use for my subject matter. In this case the vertical flip out screen is key to getting the shot. The x100v doesn’t have that. I think that if it did I would use the x100v. So like you I am waiting with bated breath for the next iteration of this camera hoping an upgrade to the screen situation. Heres to number six what ever they call it! The competition to buy one I am sure will be fierce!

I would love Fujifilm to create X100 but with medium format 100 MP sensor. 28 or 35mm FF equivalent lens, IBIS and all those bells and whistles that GFX100 has. Camera would be smaller of course but no need to change lenses. Really excited about X100VI though. I hope that it has 40 MP sensor, IBIS, high res mode and new film simulations (reala ace anyone?)

The most versatile has to be the X-S20. Personally I hate the look of it though, and would much rather have the X-T30ii (I'm still rocking X-T10 and 20 cameras)*. Both models (X-S and X-T) do everything either well or at least good enough to get the job done. The other models excel in one or two areas but have more egregious shortcomings in the areas where they don't. *Kudos to Fujifilm for not changing the body shape and size (unlike most of their other ranges) with each iteration of the X-Too line, as all one's accessories still fit from one to another

Hey Booray. Love your channel. Your post is very timely. I currently use my X-T5 primarily for travel landscapes and family event stills. Love this camera and the ability to crop in post for the best composition. Looking for a smaller camera for international travel primarily for cityscapes and some pics with friends. Your Sports and wildlife choices make no sense. If you say go for the H2s for sports, why wouldn't you use the same camera for wildlife? I'd take the stacked sensor of the S any day for both types of photography. The only advantage of the H2 is the larger file size if you need to crop. You can't trust those darn portrait photographers to give advice on shooting sports and wildlife...LOL. It's Always a pleasure Booray.

Sports/wildlife: no Fujifilm camera is great. AF/Tracking is still far behind the competition, the lens lineup isn't great. There are good reasons, why Fujifilm doesn't play any significant role in (pro) sports or (pro) wildlife photography. Portraits: out side studio - the eye AF isn't as reliable as the AF from Sony. There's no fast (and silent) focusing fast portrait prime lens in the lineup in the range 35-85 mm.
