another quick non technical "review-rant" about the GFX 100II and the often mentioned Medium Format Look. To me it is more about image ratio and file size then depth of field.

Good to hear, once I pick up a Gfx body, I will look for a few of those Pentax MF lenses again. Years ago, I had one (50mm/ 645) for my old Mamiya ZD digital camera, it was great… the sensor was large, 36x48mm. Clunky camera, but great files…

I had the Rolleiflex 6008 Phase P20 combo and the P30 (?) on mamiya 645 and RZ, good files (great at the time) but I found the crop (especially on the mamiya RZ) hard to live with. we have come a long way, I would like bigger sensors (the latest phase is out of budget) but all in all the GFX 100 (both s and II) packages are pretty incredible.

I use the 110TS and 30TS on the II and I'm not sure, if I want to use vintage-lenses. A little bit of a dreamy soft look I can allways do in post. The one thing that I would be interessted, are those hasselblad-lenses with central-shutter in the lens and flash-sync-port, to use faster flash-sync. But I'm all-in for the latest and newest glass on my II. The one other visible lovely difference with larger sensors is the different distance-compression to compared fullframe focal-lenghts 👍

I have not had a chance to try those, they must be amazing! I only came across the T/S adapter by accident since could not find a simple one. Not sure about leaf shutters and how to actually fire them on the GFX? Faster sync was the main reason why I went with hasselblad X for a while but there are limitations there as well, especially outdoors and getting enough flash power for those extremely short flash durations. In the end I found that HSS (not perfect either) is a decent solution on location.

@@paulschefz The 110TS and 30TS are just a dream come true! As far as I understand it now, the h-mount gfx-adapter from fuji brings a new menue-item to the body to set the shutter to "lens" (I don't know if I'm allowed to post links in here?). This adapter have electrical contacts. And then you get up to 1/800 flash-sync with the body-flashtriggers with listed "compatible" hc-, hcd-lenses and h-accessories. But how the other pure-mechanical adapters can trigger the leaf-shutter, I don't know yet :-) HSS is ok for not fast moving objects. Faster stuff like waterdrop-collisions or strawberries splashing into milk or so, works not so well with hss.

@@dan_thamanI was never a big fan of the H series lenses but yes that adapter should work. You are absolutely correct, HSS definitely has limitations. I think for studio applications leaf shutter with short flash duration is the best.
