I rented this whole setup and it will arrive tomorrow! Can't wait to try it out. I'm also going to try a high school football game from the sideline so that should be interesting.
Hope you enjoy! The pre-shot mode could be really cool for capturing the snap. Maybe even a quarterback’s throw. I’m not sure how it would do with tracking the focus as he’s moving around before the throw. But it’s a nice feature to have so you don’t have to time it perfectly or take a million shots. If you’re using an sd card, I find that I’ve got a very long buffer shooting at 20fps and the autofocus seems the most consistent at 20fps. 30 and 40fps work well but the tracking on a moving subject can be less reliable.
@@heymikeriley Nice thank you for the info I'll find out soon I'm gonna take it out for some animal wildlife shots first. Then Friday I'll try out the shoot for football I'm gonna need to go over the camera itself for a couple of days before I figure out what's what. I've been shooting on the XT2 for 4 years.
Was fun to use! It works really well. Keeping in mind that if you’re trying to capture fast, sudden action, you also need the right settings. In hindsight, I probably needed 1/4000 for most of this, but it was heavily overcast, in shade and I’m already at iso12800 with the kingfisher so with the f8 lens, you’ve got to really pick the settings carefully but the mode and autofocus work wonderfully!
@@heymikeriley I like photographing small birds :). Really enjoy it. So was debating between OM1 as procapture is working nicely and xh2s :). Still not sure which one to choose but at least I know that XH2s is more than capable in this more :). Thank you very much.
@@maxiguppy the hawk and falcon were jpg, raw for the rest. I use a lexar good cf card, but all of my stills go to the sd card. Just a v30 from Sandisk. Shooting stills to the cfexpress, I’ve shot 2000 in a burst and not buffered out. It’s pretty wild!
@@maxiguppy depends what you want. For me, the cameras cost about the same but the Fuji has a bigger and better sensor as well as way better video options. The Olympus has some cool program modes and the 300 f4 lens but having owned an Olympus and now coming to this, I think the Fuji wins pretty easily considering they’re priced about the same.
It's a great feature to have for certain situations. I have been experimenting with it on my X-S10, photographing insects landing/taking-off flowers in my back yard. It works pretty well but depth of field is slim when you are close-up! Can you use continuous AF in this mode, I can't remember?
It does work with continuous on the xh2s but I’m not sure I like the idea. If the camera is reaquiring when something good happens, you might miss it. I’d much rather use single and lock it down. But, need the DOF as you say. I think it’s a good mode to stop down in
@@koolkutz7 for sure. I’m already at f8 with the new lens haha, as fast as it gets. But I’ve stopped down even more depending where I think the bird is going to go. For insects I’d stop down even more because they’re so small. If they’re not in the focal plane, they’re probably totally out of it
Nothing different, same settings as normal shooting, I just turned on pre-shot. I set it up a custom button on the top of the camera so it’s easy to access when I want it
