FUJI X100VI: The most anticipated camera of 2024

Hi i ordered my Fujifilm x100VI from wex photographic in glasgow i waited 12 weeks, i am really impressed with the camera, i still use my fujifilm x100t and yes its over ten years old i will continue to use both, i am coming over to nyc next june/july and hopefully do alot of street photography , keep the videos coming

On the recipe disappointment - I think those who seek ‘perfect’ shots from the simulations are missing the point of the camera. The film camera theme isn’t just aesthetic. Setting a simulation is like putting in a roll of film. You go out and get some shots, and when you look later, you get what you get. The imperfections are a part of the appeal. When my IV arrives very soon I look forward to releasing some of that control I’m used to in digital.

Just to make you jealous, I too ordered my X100vi on the morning of the launch day and it arrived on the 28 Feb 24. (in the UK). Took it to the Swiss Alps in March. It is simply a simple and fun camera to have, carry and use. Thanks for the review.

Read/write speed is likely because of your film simulation... tends to be the "clarity" setting. It's in the manual. Basically don't use clarity on your film sims. 🤜🏾🤛🏾

Film recipes only work well on sunny days-most of the time, they’re pretty useless. I bought this camera specifically for the film recipes, but I end up disappointed far more often than satisfied.

Thank you for this. I really appreciate the recipes info. I was always curious about that myself. It's best to go raw. Then it's best to stay full frame ? Can you do side by side photo with your Sony and the Fuji. We can see same composition and see the real results

Used the 100V for an overseas trip, then traded it +$$$ for a new R5. I ordered the VI March 6th and was just told not expect till December or January.

I hate how I just recently knew about this camera and now I probably won't get one in time for my trip to Japan this Christmas. Sellers here in my country are now refusing to take in orders because they're having a hard time fulfilling the preorders. Used ones are still fetching up to $2200 despite having thousands of shutter count.

I'm waiting for to see what the GFX 50R2, the xpro4 and xt6 will look like...if they aren't better than the leica Q3...Ill get the Q3

I get the dream of wanting to edit less but I just don't see how a camera will ever be smart enough to read the mind of the photographer and know what to do in all or even most cases. I feel like I have to adjust exposure on nearly every file from my Nikon and 100% of them from my Leica, even if just a little bit. Even with film, unless you are shooting transparencies and projecting them directly, editing was part of the film process for every shot unless you were genuinely OK with the default scanner settings on the one hour photo printer. The X100VI seems like a cool camera. I originally wanted to try one out but the availability issue has (nearly) destroyed that enthusiasm. Every day I become more and more skeptical that Fuji really can't meet the demand for the camera after nearly six months. Fuji slowly meting them out seems to have accomplished their goal; keep people talking about the camera. Heck here I am still clicking on a video about the camera because you know if I could get one at retail price I might still go for it.

Now, Fujifilm India has revealed the price of x100vi in India and it's too high. On paper it say's 1600 US dollars - And that does not translate to ~1.35 Lakhs but 1.8 Lakhs (i.e; ~45K more) . With this pricing, seriously, it does not make any sense at all. X100v initially was just 1.2 Lakhs . X100vi's 33% hike in pricing is just odd. I'm very much decided now, not to go for it. I rather will increase budget a little and get some compact full frame - That's a wise decision.
