Everybody wants the Fuji X100VI but why? I kind of think its do with this one aspect of cameras that nobody actually talks about.

I’m like 45 seconds in and I agree, the experience for me is what starts to influence which gear I use/don’t use 🙏🏾

On point! That's why most people fond of photography or cameras enjoy high tech cameras (sony,canon,nikon) but also old, tactile or old-like cameras (film,leica,etc) for the experience.

This kinda goes hand in hand with a thought I've been tossing around for a couple years... "manual matters". It started with cars, and how enthusiasts love manuals because of the experience. It's engaging, requires input, and for many it induces a zen-like state. This can be extended to just about of these trends we've seen in the last decade- fancy coffee, tactile cameras, airport lounges, record players, movies being shot on film... the list is only going to grow.

What a great explanation. Fantastic video this and it really resonated- thank you

Its quite interesting. I have the fuji x100vi and i love it and use it mostly. Recently i bought a sigma 70-200 and its very nice to take pictures but just thinking about walking around with it already makes me take the fuji for all the simplicity it provides.
@bondgabebond4907
@bondgabebond4907 5 месяцев назад
'20 seconds later:' Imagin not being able to use a 70-200 when the time comes. Fixed lens and no way to exchange lenses. I think too many people are not thinking things through. Camera sounds nice, but it is a trap. A Sony a6700, for instance, can be fitted with a retro lens from TTArtisan that makes that camera as retro as possible yet allows for the exchange of lenses. Soon, you and others will realize what a huge mistake this camera is, and Fuji will be laughing all the way to the bank. The only camera where the hype was warranted was for the a6700. It is simply one of the most incredible and capable cameras ever made, far better than the Fujifilm retro camera yet people overlook the better choices. Must always be wary of hype. It can make people buy things they really don't want but must feel part of the game. Tomorrow it will be forgotten when the next greatest things come out. I've lived too long to see this happen over and over again. Remember those stupid spinners?

Spot on bro. I agree! I've used the original fuji x100, x100s and X-T1 before. There's something special with making the most out of the already imposed limitations of these cameras. It makes you focus on yourself more than what the camera could help you with. ✊😅 Looking forward to the next vid.

First cute kids! I have Grandkids, and Grandkids are just wonderful, mainly because I was too busy trying to pay the bill to enjoy my kids as much as I should have. I love Fuji color but sorta bought into the hype to get FX3 & FX30. Now I'm retired and as much as I love my A74 with the Tameron 35-150 that is ONE HEAVY setup. So most things I take pictures and video are on the iPhone Pro which let face it is pretty darn good. Being old I had the first (and only) Apple camera, but the little Fuji Film digital camera was my favorite camera for a long time! I haven't bought the 100 Mark 6, but I'm so tempted but since the backorders are extreme, that has saved me money (for Now)!

@@chrisbrockhurst yes you did, but doesn't show how you made the presrts, on each image what preset you used. We just see thr final results... I did these images with sony film simulation preset... The end.. Well the green tint one which preset it is? The golden one which kodak, the blue tint one??? Understand me now? There are 1000 videos which simulation i used in my fuji Camera, but for Sony there are under 10

@@strippedlistI hope I don’t come off as rude, but it sounds like you just need to use your camera. Explore it, experiment with it. Discover things for yourself instead of trying to copy. Seems like you’re plenty inspired, use that to create instead of emulate 👍🏾

that's why Fujifilm users are amazing, they help eachother and show how too, then all sony users: why can't sony gives us film simulations in camera? because the comunity is focused not too@@Nic_v.

@@strippedlist I guess. I also don’t understand getting the latest & greatest in mirrorless camera tech just to try to go back to film looks. Just shoot film?

Nah, I use a 5-speed manual Nissan Patrol because manuals are at least 3x more powerful than automatics gear-wise, and probably 10x more reliable and don't require cooling or suffer from overheating because the mechanism is just different. Also has 4x4 transfer that is manual, so you don't just get stuff and the computer decide s not to engage low 4x4 in a critical situation. Also it has a handbrake that isn't a glorified brake but actually holds the driveshaft and you can use a combo of low 4x4, diff lock, 1st gear, regular brake and handbrake that literally saved me from falling into a valley in a very slippery situation in the mountains when managing with the regular brake wasn't enough. Autos are great for daily drives but stick cars overall have souls.

x100v owner since day one. so I wasn´t on the hypetrain, I just wanted a fun camera after all that super specced sony gear I use for work. what I actually want is an rx1 mark 3 or some other manufacturer who does 35mm in a compact body (no thanks, no sigma fp). I could go nikon, olympus, PENTAX even. I just don´t want to support leica with their 6.000 euro q3 which is just stupid. it´s not even good. so yeah, until fuji is the only one being competitive in that market, I will wait for my lucky number x100SEVEN.

I don’t want a leica,hasselblad,Fuji….so not everyone wants them….i’m all about the final image…I don’t get a buzz from feel,look or the shutter sound….🙄🤣🤣…..so if you get a shite image it doesn’t matter because your having a “different” experience…..The image is all important to me or what’s the point….
@cameraprepper7938

Well today people want a camera that "looks good", it makes the people feel good !? THAT is false hype. like having a Gucci bag ! The most important thing for a camera is to take photos !!! I do NOT like range finder cameras, I do not like cameras with fixed Lenses and I do not like shiny cameras ! I do want a Camera that is easy to use, the ideal Camera would be a camera with custom buttons and dials that can be replaced with the design you want, I want a camera with a dial for the shutter and a dial for the ISO, NO compensation button.

I’d politely disagree Chris - it’s psychology. “The cool ________ has it” its subconscious - look at the distorted market prices. It’s not a better camera than other similar spec devices. Market psychology is the driver. My Ricoh produces equally good colors, sharper images, and more compact. It’s also not really smaller than an a6700/a7c2. Small lenses exist and they’re detachable for compact portability.
