I hope Fuji Look this and send your monet Back or send you Sony. You spend 3000€ for head movement turning sharpness. + Useless eye animal mode. Im sorry for you. Fujis agenda is making those medium format still cameras and they hate video things where they suck. They dont care, they just want sell (for stupid innosent people like you). So thanks for warning all!!.😀👍
@@erkko69 Sony A1 would solve all his problems. Autofocus that does not suck, 50mp sensor, 8k video downsampled to 4k so it's sharp as a tack. 4k 120p. And Sony color science can be worked around rather easily (shoot Raw/Slog3 and have Lightroom Presets / Luts to correct to preference) He already has the 200-600 Sony lens.. He's on the verge of greatness. . . just needs to take the step.
@@Kenriko You must be carefull My friend. This channel IS about how those ufo things try to make you buy bad stuff, or good stuff. Maybe great Canadas goverment is there too, whitt they satelites and spy tegnology. Even thou i have sony, not A1, But older stuff and i only shoot stillts. Or do i ? 😀👍
Watching someone struggle with buyer remorse in real time is wildly entertaining. I’m not even sure why, it just is. I’d give it MAX 2 more weeks before the X-H2s is up for sale. Great content as always!!
It's just the hit of incremental improvement for his use case on top of the massive upfront cost to purchase it. He's not really seeing the benefits of what was improved upon. He needs to wait a generation or two if he wants an upgrade to blow his mind. You either get a 2 new cameras a year, or you get new cameras with big tech leaps in each iteration. You can't have both.
Thank you for all this Fuji love! Keep basking us in those Fuji colors! The XT4 remains one of the best deals out right now! 4k 60fps 10-bit color at up to 200mbps with Eterna is so good! Good flip-screen, stab and weight, lens aren't too big or expensive, the perfect sensor-size, cheaper than full-frame... so good!
XT4 with a gimbal, image stabe off... would be better than the XH2s.... I kept thinking the XT4 was the better look 90% of the time. I feel for your buyer's remorse! Only slight improvements does not make it worth the money you spent! You gave them a pretty fair comparison.
I shot Fuji for years and most recently had the X-H1. I was holding out for the X-H2S, but after much thought I decided to leave Fuji for the Lumix S5. Glad I did!
You should change the name of the channel to ‘Camera Buying Remorse’. You’ve almost gone full circle so I agree it’s time to start again with the Panny boy 😀
I haven't found a camera that is consistently more cinematic than the Panasonic G85. It's amazing in every way, and so lifelike the images almost appear to be breathing.
Hehe, I use 4 G85 at work in a studio setup with fixed camera positions and kit lenses. It is actually a very nice camera for that setup. They have fixed focus and a high f stop and plenty of light. I am not sure a more expensive camera would give much better quality.
I feel like... The XT-4 was just better overall. The XT-4 would be the superior camera if they somehow gave it perfect auto-focusing especially for in-studio videos.
I’ve never had any of these issues tho like he has. I use eye auto sometimes but then keep my focus box where my face would be anyway if it loses my eye.. then I adjust af settings so where it stays locked on more so it hunts less
Coming from an XT-3 skipping XT-4, the things I think where XH-2S beats XT-4: headphone jack (you want to both use the USB jack AND monitor your audio!? XT-4 says F you!), full size HDMI (finally), better heat mgmt (maybe, especially with weird fan thingy), 6K mode for taking out both horizontal and vertical video, and better AF (I think).
This is mostly because of the stacked sensor, it helps reduce the ibis wobbles, this is a big reason I purchased the camera and it works great for me! I think the stabilization is better, but most people where expecting to look like it was on a gimbal for some reason, and are getting disspointed that it does not.
Well, that's the last we going to see out of that camera (I found your ad on Kijiji), I totally agree with your decision Kasey, the XT4 is just either best or equal on most of your tests. I hope you find a buyer quick, and thank you for your sacrifice!
I am noticing a bit of a greener cast in the XH2s shadows, I thought at first it might have been the lens but found out the same happened when you did switched the lens. It would be curious to see how both cameras are managing auto white balance comparatively. My XT4 is showing more purple in cloudy weather in auto white balance (I believe that most camera do to), which is fixed by manually selecting the right white balance setting. I am glad your channel exist!
The white balance conspiracy video is going to be complicated to make because the lens has a big impact on the white balance. If the camera is looking through warmer tinted glass the white balance is going to need to be cooler to compensate. You can clearly see it in this video since you set the WB manually. The Zeiss glass is quite a bit warmer than the fuji lens.
Kasey can no longer be considered as just a fanny guy anymore, so much serious work went into making this video. Even if it is not super techy like CVP and Cined it was very good.
I'm so glad you mentioned the lens noise. I have a 85mm f/2.8 that sounds like a Pterodactyl riding a rusty bicycle when focusing from very near to very far. I'm considering taking it in to a store to ask someone what they think.
The older lenses (like the Zeiss in this video from 2012) use motors that make some noise. They were designed primarily for still photography. Newer lenses are almost silent and work much better for video.
I just keep seeing the XT4 mugging the XH2s, which is bad for new buyers but it does make the former camera get its place in the APS-C hall of fame of camera bodies along with the K3-II
Seems like an odd choice considering he usually always shoots handheld and complains about the wobbly jello effect on all his cameras. The XH2s has superfast readout and therefore next to none of that. He should love the XH2s. It's what he's always wanted and asked for.
H2S colours looked much nicer on my TV as was the dynamic range. XT 4 was far too red! H2S not as sharp though... bat as you say may be deliberate cos the skin texture looked much better
I love the camera and I’m not sure why he’s struggling with it so much, but I didn’t notice a real difference between the two before selling my X-T4. However, I set all the settings how I wanted them individually. I didn’t just copy the X-T4 settings, I would actually adjust the settings based on the looks I liked.
I was here to decide to go for XH2s after my XT4. Now as i can see so far there is no need to move around to spend more money for less sharp images in photography. Autofocus and video specs didn't impress me at all. Thanks for sharing this video and saving my money back. I like your sense of humor while you are touching pro points in your comparements. 🎶☕👍
I think the main "advantage" of the XH2S for certain people is the S part, or speed. Super fast bursts, low rolling shutter, etc. Versus the XT4, the dynamic range, slightly higher specs, better AF and more formats is nice, but the main selling point for this camera specifically is the stacked sensor and speed that comes with it. I'm guessing if you want a truly upgraded version of the XT4 and X Trans sensor 4, you'll want the XH2 (with next green X Trans 5 sensor) or XT5 (if that's even a thing). I have a feeling they'll bust out the cripple hammer for the XH2 though, especially if rumors are correct that it's going to be priced @ $2k. Maybe say goodbye to 240p? F-log 2?
You can adjust tone and sharpness for each film simulation. Maybe try adding a notch of sharpness on the X-H2S. Also, where’s the Eterna test? In my experience, every Fuji has its own slightly tweaked version of Eterna and that’s where you can really see the difference between them.
It makes you wonder how many youtube channels are just in it for the selling stuff. This vid makes me want to do a similar one for my mavic 3 drone: for stills It's laughably shite compared to 7-year-old P4. I still shoot with my 9-year-old d800, and I'm seriously considering dropping $9K(aus) on a z9 with worse dynamic range. So thanks for your honest vid, man. It's giving me a reality check. One thing that might make you feel better is trying to stabilise the footage. I found that with my GH5: the fast readout meant you could chuck warp stabiliser at the shittest of shots (as long as shot at high shutter speed) and they'd work, whereas my g85 would warp like a warpy thing.
You could make a comparison video between a potato and a slightly larger potato and I would watch the video and I would enjoy it.:) love the channel. but before you sell the X-H2s, can we get one vlogging comparison to the em1 III. Idk, I just always enjoy it when the underrated olympus gets a lil bit of love.
4:00 -- well, seems less warpy than the XT4, but sheesh -- even with digital stabilization on, the impact of your careful footsteps "rattles" the image. I hate to say it, but my Panny G85 with my 12-60mm kit lens at 12mm is noticeably smoother with just the dual-IS....
already told you... GH6 is the way to go, better AF than that Fuji probably, Dynamic Range is very good with the Full Vlog, and you just know that the IBIS is just on a whole new level.
I think hardly anyone would be able to tell the difference unless they knew you were showing two different cameras and lens combinations. Just seeing one of them on the screen I don't think hardly anyone would know.
if there's one way to improve the sony a7siii footage, check out joel famularo phantom lut, it literally makes sony footage to have great colours. it emulates the alexa and helps to fix the yucky sony green tint which is very hard to fix if you're not experience colourist.
I come from xt3 to xh2s, and I'm still disappointed. I think that the new generation of sensor could be difficult to develop, with the xt4 they already had experience in the hardware. I have faith they can update the xh2s and improve everything promised, I have faith--- it's the only thing I have left, or sell.
XH2S can record at All-Intra 720mbps 4:2:2 4K60 XT4 can only do the inferior LongGOP 200mbps 4:2:0 I hope you can tell us the settings used on both cameras. Not just the resolution. I didn’t even mention ProRes recording in the XH2S yet.
The X-T4 can do All-I 400Mb/s 4:2:0. Even the X-T3 could. Though there's no visual difference and it's purely the editing performance between L-GOP and All-I though so it'll be all the same if youre not editing on a laptop.
these are just fuji pushing specs as they know it sells...I remember my xt3 100mbps and 400mbps just had no difference in picture quality, it only made my computer cry more lol
I know they are old an no one cares, but I would love an EOSR VS R6 video. I’ve decided to sell one of mine and I can’t decide which one to keep. I’m honestly leaning towards keeping the EOSR. 🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️
I'm photographer, have no idea about videos and I follow you, you know why... This video show to me that you HAVE to sell the XH2s ASAP... XT4 and Zeiss rule mate!... 😉
You should check the audio of these two camera side by side, especially if you can find some wind and see if both clip the audio in auto or if the HX2s has corrected the problem.
Hi I'm looking to rent a camera set for a holiday. I mainly want to film landscape videos. The following packages are available. Fuji X-T4 16-80mm f4 OIS WR Sony a7iv 28-70 f3.5-5.6 OSS Sony a6600 16-135mm f3.5-5.6 OS What would you recommend. Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks for the video. I have the X-T4 and the performance seems even better in some cases on the X-T4. Why should i give my $$ to get the XH2S... just for the new name :-) ?
Why don't you return it? If Fujifilm has really failed with AF tracking and the IQ is less than the previous generation, the X-Series may be tough to sell in the future, especially at these prices, as the market is very demanding now. Hopefully they can improve things with the X-H2, as they would be great cameras if they had AF like Canon/Sony
Fuji XH2s you say worse IBIS then XT4 maybe little but XH2s have non corner wobble (warpy) 2:27 XT4 grouse corner wobble. I would say XH2s is slightly better in almost everything. Wait a month or two and then I would sell XT4 recover some money or sell XH2s. (I would also try in camera white balance outside.) According to Gerald Undone for video turn off noise reduction and do noise reduction in DaVinci. (Fujifilm X-H2S: A Very Nerdy Review & Technical Guide)
"...you should buy both of them..." Two weeks later the Fuji summit details the XH-2 and the GAS is ignited once again! 🙂 Ahhh, but what about the XT-5? I see good times ahead.... Have a rockin' weekend!
so its all about the zeiss/lens? who could have imagined that^^. xt4 is a wobblemachine ohne blurred background. btw have you ever noticed that a video seems to be sharp af and as soon as you hit the pause button it looks like someone put a pshop gauss filter on it?
The IBIS in the X-H2S is so bad compared to the X-T4, it isn't funny. I noticed it even in the intro. What did Fuji improve, other than their own bottom line?
You're right about all this stuff. These two cameras look way too similar. I guess the XH2s is not a next-gen camera. I also think your Em1 iii looks similar to the Fujis when vlogging. That would be a good comparison. I really want a new camera, but keep being disappointed with all these new offerings.
@Camera Conspiracies better option than switch button in X-T4, but no as good like in Sony for change to MF and adjust focus in difficult situation while recording like target behind leafs of tree. I'm thinking between X-H2s and a7IV
I am so ashamed of buying the xh2s I can't see my face in the mirror holding the camera. Everything I notice, you confirm it in your video the next day.
Can someone please explain to me what seems to bother me here? When I am looking at the footage it seems pixelated?! How do you get clear resolution then? Why does the footage seem pixelated still?
With what you have shown, I reckon that, apart from the autofocus and possibly the 4k120, the X-H2S does not appear to be an upgrade at all from the XT4. However, if you are just going to end up using one of the Fuji's as a studio cam then the X-H2S probably wins due to the autofocus.
X-H2 looks a little more desaturated and slightly more yellow in the skin - so, maybe toned down reds? It doesn't seem to be the lens. Also, the tone curve isn't as muddy in the X-H2s. It makes it look higher contrast, but muddiness isn't the solution to that. Davinci balances green because those are video standards. The Fuji is aiming for photography standards.
It makes absolutely no difference to your channel mate. The content is the heartbeat. So, watching the comparison was useful, it saves me the cost and trouble.
My comment on one of your recent reviews prompted a reply from someone saying to buy the X-T4 and spend the saving on glass… imagine what piece of Lalique you could get if you sell the X-H2s..? … or you could just wait for the next few firmware updates..?
I'm not sure where you bought it, but most stores do offer a full refund within 30 days. For that price, you should be salivating all over it, not wondering if it's an upgrade or not.
Honestly, I see both more or less the same. I own the XT-4 and it's good for me. Could be better, of course. I own a SonyA7RII too and picture quality is better, at least regarding pictures, movies are better in the Fuji. I really don't know if invest more in the Fuji ecosystem, or just sell everything and embrace Sony. Difficult choice in my opinion. Anyway, I think that the XH2s is just not for you, as it is not for me. Paz!
I foresee the future when after you sold the XH2S, the firmware upgrade comes out and fixes some of the BS. This is not just Fuji, and not just in cameras - these days a lot of tech comes out in a rush to be on the market, but the actual usability reasearch is done by customers - and so the first thing we do is WAIT for the firmware UPDATE - what a BS. I hope it works out for you if you do keep it.
Kasey, I don't think you should move to the US, life is pretty rough down here, feels like a civil war is brewing. As far as your new Fuji camera, it's ok, just sell it. Try a new sony or canon camera or start saving for a down payment on a house. You'd make a great daddy. Anyway, thanks for performing for so many grateful people. :) I wish you would start a charity to help young people get cameras who normally can't afford them. Use your power for something greater than your fame. :) Peace. :)
Hopefully a future firmware update will fix the XH2s, if not, sell it. Sadly, the XT4 kicks it's ass. But even if they fix the firmware you'll still need 3 hands and a dewclaw to use it.
XH2S is not worth the money - I hope this doesn't damage Fuji sales overall. Maybe they have run out of money for R&D and have maxed out what is achievable on APSC. Happy to stick with my XT4.
Hopefully you don't regret that because you are basing your decision on someone who doesn't seem to take the time to understand his camera. I own the XH2S and I have filmed over 5 videos with it all handheld and I love it. I suggest you buy it use it and if you don't like it you got 15-30 days to return it.
@@AsuquoTravelsProductions you make a good point. You love it so far? Based on everything I'm seeing it looks like a good in-studio video perhaps? I use my XT-4 for all my outdoor content/vlogs and the auto focus at times is my only issue with it.
@@ActionXander check my channel I have uploaded real world client videos. And all filmed handheld with the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8. I now use the XH2S more than I use my Sony A7SIII and A7IV.
How do they compair to the Samsung S21 ultra with intel 888..standard in usa & Canada..if you must have a 1kg iron divise the S5 under $1000 but max 180p 4k and more than 1kg might be almost S21 image and ios level
xh2s on dynamic range test under tree looks better but quite noisy specially on the blacks. But xt4 looks better when you sitting on the chair in my opinion..xt4 won.
