I am 67 years old and I started my journey in SLR photography with a Pentax ME Super back in the 70’s. Around 2012 I developed arthritis in my shoulders pretty bad and at the time I carried a backpack with 37 pounds of Canon gear. I wanted to find a smaller solution with less weight. I told my wife that I wish I could find something about the weight and size of my old Pentax ME Super. This search led me to the Fujifilm XT series of camera. I too feel it’s the model day equivalent of my old Pentax Camera. I sold all my Canon gear and never looked back. I can even shoot it with a couple of my old Pentax lenses. I shoot several different Manuel focus lenses on my Fujifilm XT3. I could not have found a better solution. Enjoy your videos very much. Keep up the great work!
I have an MX (two actually! and I’ve long said that I wished Pentax would make a digital version, preferable full frame but without all the bulk of a K-1 and even reduce the amount of extra tech, maybe even SR just to keep it more compact. Good engineering, big sensor, traditional controls. I’d buy at the drop of a hat. Use it with my Pentax FA limited primes
Aha, yeah that makes sense. I had a K-01 from new in 2012-2013. In 2018 or so I got it converted to infrared, and later sold it (by chance) to Snappiness. My video about infrared has some photos taken with it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fx-8ZgZIwW8.html
thank you for the effort and the sharing. i really like the posted images. i had several Penatx film bodies including the MX! (i also had a Ricoh GRII which I should never had sold. ugh) i presently, have the XT-1 and the XT-2. i use them daily. i use the 18-55/2.8-4 and the 35/2 as my go-to lenses. i look forward to your future images and YT vids. thumbs up.
Thinking about jumping on a X-T1... AF speed is what worries me the most cause it'd be my only camera. I'd be coming from Lumix blasting fast SAF. Nice vide. Great video as usual. Saludos!
Yeah that might be an issue if you really care about AF speed. Think 2014 tech. Single point AF will be fine, if you want the latest then this isn't it.
My rub with modern camera's, is they seem to fail.. Second failed camera with a flippy screen. The flex cables fail. On my X-T2 LCD went blank. Otherwise it works. My Pentax KP started failing and it's at the repair shop due to the fact, parts are only available through one source. I guess it is cheaper then years of buying film...
Agreed, the X-T1, 2, 3 will not be as reliable as my MX, long term. Personally, the only digital cameras that just broke on me were all Leicas. Other than that, I did kill a Sony A7ii by soaking it in salt water, but that's not Sony's fault. All my other digital cameras work well, and I don't baby them at all.
@@JuanBuhler Agreed. My Pentax K5,K3, Canon 5D, 6D are solid as rocks. I still love my Fuji X-T2, I ordered parts and will replace the flex cable myself. I also love the X-e3 and may buy another. It's just disappointing to see them fail when your old film/digital cameras last for years with no issues.
I bought the KP when it was new, it was the last Pentax DSLR I bought. It's a great camera and the image quality is excellent. But I couldn't fall in love with it. By that time I was way into mirrorless, and looking into an EVF instead of an OVF. I sold it to help fund my Fuji setup.
