Fujifilm’s Incredible Medium Format Camera From 1995 

Forgot to mention this for those who are thinking of picking one up: these cameras are known to miss focus! The wide model doesn’t miss focus nearly as much since it’s so wide, but if you don’t half press and recheck your focus it may focus on the wrong thing. This is the first autofocus medium format camera, after all 🤍 hope you enjoyed the video!

Bought the non wide version a few months ago. I've been working on my first photobook with it, and its excellent for semi urban landscape stuff and environmental type work, as long as you're careful with the autofocus.

Recently purchased a GA645Zi , and have been having a great time with it! Completely agree with you that program mode simplifies the photographic process to emphasize composition (which is both liberating and challenging in its own way). Still learning my way through the camera but have been having a great time so far, and am looking forward to see what images I can make. Great video and photos as always, Linus! 🙏🏽🍻

Great vid! Did you use the GA645 for any concert photography on the tour? I have one too and am heading on tour next month, debating on bringing it but worried about the less than ideal low light / high shutter I'd need to capture sharp images.

Interesting camera, awesome pictures, sweet video (as always)! The vertikal orientation is so interesting. I think about buying an Olympus Pen FT half-frame camera right now that also shoots vertical if you hold it horizontally because a) it gives you so much more pictures on your 35mm film and b) I mostly shoot vertical photos anyways, so not having to turn the camera seems quite nice. Is it the same for you or do you find yourself turning the Fuji for horizontal shots most of the time? Also, would you recommend buying this camera as your first medium film camera? At some point in the future I hope to get into the medium film format, and think about getting a Pentax 67 (which I know you're also a fan of). But I love my Fujica St901 35mm camera, so I will always be a little biased in favour of Fujifilm, haha. Any thoughts appreciated! Loving the regular uploads, keep it up! :)

I love my GA645zi, got it for a steal on reddit a few years ago.

That’s it, I’m convinced to get into Fuji 645 system. I have the Bronica 645 etrs with the 50mm 2.8, just not as portable as I would like. This seems like the best alternative.

Fuji medium format lenses are so great. I have a GS645 and it's my absolute favorite.

i sold my mamiya 645 to pick this up before a 3 week trip to australia in November, and im so disappointed with the results :/ i have the ga645zi, so a little more quirky than yours, but the max shutter speed being 1/700 is insanely limiting. had to slap an nd on the front, and try to remember to set the exposure comp to expose properly every single time i turn the camera back on. i havent completely given up on it, i still *love* the compact size and relative point and shoot nature of the camera. though in practice i think im finding i actually want to be methodical and thoughtful with medium format. i dont *need* it to be a point and shoot. but shooting this camera manually is a massive ball ache. i just need to properly test it some more. i should have given myself more time with the camera before going on my trip too. i put 4 or 5 expired rolls through it just to make sure things were working properly, and chalked the less than stellar results up to expired film and lazy metering. anyway, thats my ga645zi rant. i have gotten some solid shots, but my miss rate is through the roof with this thing compared to my mamiya. the shit you got out of it looks way better than what i did, thats for sure! but you have inspired me to keep the faith.

If you want to take people it s Better To use the 60 mm camera GA 645. And you can Also take Landscape photos because it s A 39mm. 24x36.

I have a MFT digital camera and plenty of sharpness and details there. I can only imagine, how much details and sharpness a digital full frame camera offers. Medium format cameras are cool, but are you really that much better with it compared to a digital camera? Sometimes I think it would be nice to try out a medium format camera, but they are even used just too expensive for that. This old Fuji camera costs used nearly 500 EUR. Too much to buy it just for fun. But I have to admit, your images are great.

The Fujifilm GA645Zi is a much better choice in that you get a selection of 4 focal lengths to suit the situation.

At this moment in time there are 645 likes on the video. I just liked it and it now makes it 646. I ruined the coincidence 😂

While this is a really good camera, nothing comes close to Pentax 645, or 6x7 results, especially for skin tones, and for versatility, I wouldn't overlook Hasselblad. As for the lightweight, either stick to the phone or if it must take Film try some of the older folders with triplet lenses, nothing beats their results. In my opinion, the process is therapy, not just the routine, slowing down is the part of it.

My next purchase to complement my 5x4 camera. Analogue is back bitches

I have heard those are rather unreliable, combined with the fact how expensive they are it's hard to justify purchasing this camera.
