I love doing shots like the little boy and girl playing in the water. Kind of being a "fly on the wall" where they don't really perceive your presence and the shots are very candid. I was asked to shoot some HS graduation pics for my daughter's friend recently. I was pretty nervous because I never did any work for anyone else, only my own daughter. Secondly, I only own the 18-55. So, I rented the 56 for the shoot. That lens is just WOW. Now I want one!! That's some expensive glass though. As an amateur it's hard to justify. And, I've been thinking it might make more sense to look at either the 90mm or the 50-140 because they are a bit more versatile. I'm torn because I loved the images so much from that 56. Love your shots and thanks for more info to help me decide!
I'm looking at the new 56 now but have the newish 50 might swap them out. the 50-140 is a very good lens. there's little things I like about each that make it hard to choose one. lol
@@tazsmith Oh yeah, that 50-140 is very good. But, it's way out of my price range. I stumbled upon a basically brand new 56 v1.0 for a great price. Someone is moving up to the new Fuji stuff and the 56 was the last piece of equipment left to sell. Can't wait to get that lens and start practicing.
Taz Smith for my bride headshots i shoot it around f1.8 its good to get the eyes plus most of her nose in focus, and for B&G portraits to get both faces in focus i find around f2.2 is perfect!
@@tazsmith like it very much want me to take more pictures I do have good results with that camera to.My Nikon D810 siting on shel and catching dust but also very good camera but autofocusing is day and night. Much better on xpro 2+ jpg. from xpro 2 are just amazing also I do fing raw files from xpro 2 much easy to work with. There are many other things to, like colors and colors filter's, face detection and exc.
a question when i zoom in with my kitlens and take a full shot of my friend she complains she gains weight bevause of my lens. Is it because i zoom in and if i would use a 50mm lens like this one, would she look normal or still look that she gained weight ?
I have not made a video on this topic but there are some good ones already on RU-vid. But your friend may just be used to seeing herself in wide angle photos vs portrait. Both focal lengths have different effects in how they capture images. Getting this 56 vs the 18-55 at 55 it will have similar effect as 56
