Fujifilm X-H1 still holds its own in comparison to the new Fujifilm X-H2s. RU-vid: / tazsmith Instagram: / taz.smith Twitter: / thetazsmith www.tazsmith.com www.tazsmithphotogrpahy.com
I think the X-H1 actually has the x-trans iii sensor, but anyway, thank you for the good comparison. For me personally, I'm fine with my X-H1 and plan to use it for years to come.
There is no problem with the second card slot, I bought a 256 GB recommended card on sale for the same price as a good SD card. I had the X-H1 and enjoyed it, sold it to my brother. I upgraded to the X-T4 and it was measurably better than the H1 in autofocus. Sold the T4 for the X-H2S, UNREAL upgrade to the autofocus from the T4. This makes a huge difference in keepers for photography. When I look at the older pictures I shot from previous X-Trans cameras a lot are ever so slightly off focus (not enough to ruin the shot), 99% of the X2S shots are perfectly focused. I like ALL of the Fuji cameras, but operating the X-H2S is like using a cheat code. LOVE IT!
Having recently retired from professional photography I decided to skip the X-H2s and X-T5, and am still using my X-T2 and X-H1. They do everything I ask for :)
@@valeries4205 Really the main difference is whether or not you want some IBIS (Stabilisation in the camera body). Otherwise, same sensor and processor, so the images are identical.
I bought the XH1 with battery grip a couple years ago and love it. Haven’t had time to shoot it much due to work, but I will only buy another Fuji if IBIS is part of Fuji camera. The XH2 isn’t compelling enough for me to upgrade
The clunking noise that was mentioned in the x-h1 is totally normal and is related to the image stabilization mechanism. Nothing to worry about. I love my xh1 and was disappointed to see Fuji eliminate the multiple control dials for a PASM dial. There are great deals on the xh1 and for the difference in upgrade price you can buy some really nice glass and in my opinion a better investment.
I think they want to separate the X-T and X-H line with that PASM design choice. I think they want people who prefer the old-school design to buy X-T products and people who just want to get jobs done to buy X-H products. So, aesthetics vs. practicality. Just my thought since the X-T5 is out now.
I am considering a XH1 as the price for a used one is getting so attractive. As i do mostly still photos, i wonder if the IBIS on XH1 worth buying? Actually, I've got many manual lens😂.
Good comparison and great samples. But a quick correction, the X-H1 (X-T2) have the X-Trans III sensor (not 2). But I'm so glad to hear you mention the problem with the 2nd card slot on the X-H2(s)! I mentioned that on my "why I'm not upgrading to the X-H2s" video.
if i ever get more into the video side of things i will upgrade from my xh1. But even then the xt4 exists as a good step up. Or if i just wanna take my photography even further the xh2 and xt5 are around
Hi I own an x-t20 and I’d want to buy another one with weather resistant and the cameras that I planned to buy (fit in my budget) is either x-t2 or x-h1 what do you think is best choice
Since you have the X-T20 (that was my first Fuji) get the X-T2 as long as you are comfortable using the T-20. If it feels too small then consider the X-H1. The bigger grip is MUCH nicer for large hands.
great video got the XH1 yesterday, but for the life of me i cannot figure out how to change from Aperture to Manual to Shutter priority modes. can you help.
It’s all with the dials if you want aperture priority, set your aperture on the ring then turn the dials for the ISO and shutter speed to auto if you want shutter priority, set your shutter speed then turn your aperture ring, and I also dialed to auto
Great comparison. I used to own the X-H1 and sold it for a LUMIX S5. Now that the X-H2 is out, I'm seriously considering selling my S5 and replacing it with the X-H2. I'm a photographer, so I don't really care about the video capabilities of any camera. Don't get me wrong, the S5 is a solid camera but having L-mount lenses is a pain because I can't use them on any other camera. 60% of my lenses are M mount and with adapters, it's easy to use them all on my Leica, Fujifilm, and LUMIX cameras. The only problem I see from a photography standpoint with the X-H2/2s is it not having two SD slots. I see the advantage for CF Express if you're shooting video but not for photography. I might have to take another look at the X-T4 because of it. I do miss my X-H1 though. Solid camera for photography.
X-t4 is a solid camera. I have 2 of them. When it comes to photography since the X-t2 they are all very similar. X-h2 is the best but not by much compared to the x-t4
@@tazsmith this is the problem for photographers, too many cameras to choose from. Too many choices leaves one with analysis paralysis. That said, I’m in no rush to purchase a new camera and the X-T3 paired with my X-Pro3 can still get the job done with my existing lenses. Carrying around additional batteries has never been an issue for me. I’m more concerned with what the camera can do for the job I’m performing. If I by the X-T4 then I have to invest in yet another battery type. I have too many different camera batteries as it is. So if I decide to purchase another camera it will more than likely be the X-T3 over the X-T4 unless when the X-Pro4 is announced it compels me to buy it. I’m sure it will have the same batter as the X-T4 and the X-H2/2s cameras.
The XTrans1 sensor was in the XPro1 and XE1; XTrans2 was in the XT1, X100S, XE2, X70; XTrans 3 was in the XH1, XT2, XPro2, XE3. You can buy an XH1 with battery grip on the used market for about $1000. Deal of the century, I'm not parting with mine.
If you are happy with your camera and feel it isn’t limiting you then your all good. I was using the xh1 right up to getting this camera for most my work photography’s love the xh1
I have the X-H1 and love it even I struggled with the release button, but now when I shake it a bit it make a weird clunky noise, not sure if the fan moving or the stabilizer, still take pics….😅. Does anybody got the same clunky thing, shake it and let me know please.
