I went to BiC camera today. No XT100VI to be seen. All the XT-5’s are sold out. I’ve never seen the Xt100V in person in Japan. What can this camera do that the XT-5 cannot?
I’ve played around with the Fuji X RAW Studio app a bit, saving custom recipes I already had keyed into the camera, but i did NOT realize that 1) you can input/modify recipes right there in the app, AND THEN 2) upload those recipes to the camera. This makes setting up, testing, and selecting recipes SO much easier! Thanks for that technical insight Jason - brilliant!
What would be fun is if they actually fulfilled preorders that were made five minutes after the announcement and still have "No idea" when they will be fulfilled, and it's now the end of April.
I ordered mine on Feb.20 B&H, and they shipped it already 2 days ago. Tentative date was Nov (last week) in their email to me, but so happy it’s earlier than expected.
I have a xt30 and yah single shot is awesome. If I miss the shot I never think “if only I had my a7iv” because the fujifilm is really just that fun. Picking up my x100vi from my work in a few weeks as Im pretty lucky and work at a tech store and see everything come through first
i agree on AFC focus. so much different from Sony camera. a few photo using AFC ended up back focused photo. i was pretty sure it nailed focus when snap the picture. Fuji just release a firmware update for X100vi. can u update review the AFC on this camera? initial testing from me was okay. but maybe your testing can be more thorough.
I do own both but because the X100VI has all the video features that I got it for, it's the one I will be reaching for the most. GR III is still the lightest and great for purely stills!
Jiminy Glick voices are inspiring and hilarious 😂 😂! This was my first time watching your videos because I just purchased this camera. Thanks and please try to further imitate Jiminy lol, it's spot on 😅
Hmm, I'm surprised by your review as especially for video it doesn't seem like a great choice, I was interested in this camera but from my research: Outdated lens with loud/slow focusing (audible if recording video), cannot resolve 40MP wide open, 35mm f/3 FF equivalent so no selfies or landscape or wildlife, a bit tight indoors, limited background separation in full body or even portrait, lower dynamic range than an iPhone 15Pro (tested by CINED), poor-ish low light performance, noisy sensor, no flip screen, poor battery life so you have to buy/bring spares (and potentially remove the tripod plate to swap each time), not great for videography (massive crop in 4k60 or 6.2k, awful rolling shutter, no 3.5mm mic input, ports block grip, drop in dynamic range in higher resolutions), subpar autofocus (improved but far from Sony/Canon), slow performance with film simulations, low resolution hybrid evf, no lens hood / ability to add filters / weather sealing / grip without additional costs, etc, etc. It’s not for me but it is a very pretty camera :) - I had an X-T3 and X-S20 which I loved, but since trying Sony full frame, there's no going back, the jump in quality, usability, convenience is immense and cameras like the ZV-E1 / A7CII can be damn near as small with a compact f/2.8 prime. I totally agree about screwing on filters but then again unless it's a VND it's usually pointless for video anyway?
still happy with my X100S that is still pocketable (and clunkier in a lot of aspects but that characteristic is what makes the little thing fun to use) and it makes me want to pick it up more in a shoot compared to the near-perfect modern cameras with all the DR, and focus modes we have. I have an R6 and it just collects dust most of the time because even if it's a good camera, it just feels boring and soulless.
I bought it because I’ve found with my film photography that I was taking my 35mm 2.8 lens pocket cameras more than my SLRs and wanted something digital that would do the same. Add in weather sealing, ibis, 40mp… it was a no brainer to replace my Olympus em-10ii.
Your review is until now the most unique on this X100VI - awesome job both of you! I totally agree, the video features on the X100VI seems something not a lot of users are using, because they see it mainly as photo camera (specially for streets). But it is simply awesome to have these feature in such a small camera. But the MUCH more important question for me is: how the hell did you managed to get the Peak Design ankers on to the X100VI without the rings? I tried several times and can't do it. It was possible on my Leica cameras, but not on the X100 😅
I am debating between a sony A6400 and a fuji. Though not sure which fuji. For reference I plan to shoot product photography, travel, landscapes, and just and everyday use camera that i can grab and take pictures. Would this fuji be better for my needs or the sony a6400 or another fuji or camera?
@Omtommyom would you consider it light weight and portable? I want something that I don't mind grabbing on the go and actually wanting to shoot with because I don't mind carrying. While also being good quality and that's worth the price.
My 2 months experience: ebay search for near retail prices, follow-up email on my pre-order, reddit search on x100vi photos, more follow-up email about my pre-order, youtube binge on x100vi videos, google search on whether I should just buy a GR iiix, another follow-up email about my pre-order Thank you Fujifilm. Best camera ever.
Taobao! I hardly film 4K120p since it’s too slow for what we do. 6k offers a lil more flexibility for cropping purposes which we do quite often. Overall reliability though, a6700 wins
Wide AF is actually terrible on this camera, but the rest works well enough for me. Also I highly recommend the official Fuji leather case. It give you just that little bit of extra grip, also around the thumb area. Loving the X100VI, its my EDC. I've hardly used my X-S10 with lenses after I got it.
Thanks for the suggestion! I will pop by a camera store to see if I can test drive the leather case!

Hm think I stick to my X100V don’t see some great differences except for IBIS. The Autofocus is still crappy so nothing new here. But those cameras make me love Fuji more than Sony. Thinking about getting one of there medium format cams.
Great video Jason! What a little powerhouse of a camera. I’ve used the X100V for pro video work and it slaps! I used it in place of my main camera because it was mostly b-roll and the X100V was smaller/discrete so places didn’t seem to care that I was filming. I’m sure the new camera completely blows it away. Also when is the single dropping 🎧🎶
Sony rumored 2024 camera release roadmap is confusing me as a canon user migrating to Sony. By any chance could u consider helping newbies out with ur sony expertise by making a roadmap video pretty please 🙏
@@JasonVong Appreciate it! Do you happen to know what the native ISO is in FLOG? I know it's 1000 for FLOG2, but for the life of me, I cannot find any info on if it's different in FLOG.
Where are you based? Best Buy “notify me” doesn’t work. It has came back in stock a few times but disappears too quickly. The HotStock app pings users much faster but you also have to be very quick to check out 😅
@@JasonVong I’m in Hawaii, so I just figured since everything is hard to get here, that was why. I’ll take a look at HotStock. Never heard of that. Thanks!
wow there is also a song in the ending😆BTW, if you want to pair a pancake lens with fuji body, beside the 27 2.8, dont forget there is also a xf18 f2 which has a little bit lager aperture and still keeping the small size.
Fujifilm AF has been more or less the same since 2018. It's down there with Leica, but it's not unusable. Just know that you will be getting this camera to enjoy the tactile experience of missing the shot, and you will be less disappointed when it happens. 😂
@@JasonVong it’s an improvement. It’s noticeable but if we are comparing to Sony, it’s not as great. I’d say if my rate for this was 4/10 it’s 5/10. Now on XT-5 - smoother. Feels good. But still a far cry from Sony’s.
