I use a Ninja V with my Xt3. However, I am not using it with my XH2s. I have a much less expensive but good external monitor that I use with the XH2s but it isn’t a recorder. The reason is the camera can do internally almost everything (raw shooting excepted) in camera that the external recorder does.
@@canderson1955 The only reason I got the Ninja V is my cards are not big enough for handle videos. I used to only take photos until now I have kid, and I’m start to take videos. SSD is way cheaper and easier to work with iPad and LumaFusion.
Video idea: How to use the Custom function (C1, C2, etc) settings. What camera setting can and can’t be assigned to one of the custom function settings? I think it’s poorly documented in the user manual. Thanks.

On 10:13 you prefer to switch AF+MF generally ON and there would be no harm. There is a big harm, if you do this: in this case AF is falling back from focuspriority to releasepriority.

Really enjoyed this workup. I found it very helpful. The one thing I would suggest you add is a section on shooting with manual lenses. This requires you to turn on the "Shoot with No Lense" option. It is not intuitive to locate this. Other than that, amazing work. Thank you for helping newbies like me.
Video is a few months old but thought i would throw this out there. There are seven presets(C1-C7). There are a bunch of “recipes” for film simulations. Recipes for the presets would be handy, no?
I just purchased the fujifilm x-h2 two weeks ago. I purchased a new SanDisk 64 gb card and place it in the sd slot to be formatted. The process worked with no problem. But when I wanted to take a photo the camera informed me that I need the cf card to take a photo. I thought you could use a sd card separately Help please

Great video as I just exchanged my X-Pro3 for a new X-H2, as I wanted (a) more resoultion and (b) the rotating LCD display. I'm not 20 anymore and for my nature photography, I don't want to keep crawling around on the ground. So, your first setting review was a great start for this new camera for me. Hi Chris. Perhaps you can help me with this: I always use focus peaking and AF-ON button. In my XT4 when I half press the trigger button, focus peaking lines disappear which is good because it gives me a clean view of the scene just before taking the picture. But that doesn't happen in my XH2S. Focus peaking lines keep showing. I've tried different configurations without success.
I know this is one of your older videos but HELP Somebody. I'm at the point now and trying to decide do I want to buy just an XH2S or that along with an XH2. My biggest question is I'm doing to be traveling should I get something a little less than the XH2 to do my street work and photos primarily or should I just have the XH2S and call it a day. I've watched hours of your videos I've watched hours of other people's videos. I've finally steered clear of Sony cuz it's just too expensive. All that being said I'm selling my house and will be traveling full time. No I'm not going to get a ton of money from that sale, but it will enable me to travel along with my SS retirement funds. This will also enable me to purchase a full kit I'm thinking three lenses two bodies tripod and accessories to start. I think I've narrowed that down through watching your videos. And would appreciate any help finalizing my decisions. Thank you for all the work. Hope to hear from you.
Maybe you know the answer. I have the X-T3 and X-T4. Is there a possibility to save ISO, shutter speed, and maybe the f-stop into a profile C1-C7? I'm trying to do shutter drag, and when somebody comes to me for a normal group photo, it is a nightmare to keep changing settings. Thanks!
Great video Chris! I have one question: I have rented the XH2 recently and noticed that the histogram does not update correctly when in shutter priority mode. The histogram would suggest the picture to be perfectly exposed even if extremely under exposed (the camera would only shows the aperture number in red colour). Went to the Fujifilm shop and they told me they would raise this with Fujifilm. Has anyone been able to work around this issue? I would expect the histogram to reflect the exposure of the scene I am shooting, taking into account the settings of the camera, as it does for the xT system.
Hi, I have a question/problem that maybe someone here can help me with. I have an X-H2 configured to send raw files to the cf-express card and jpegs to the sd card. If I shoot a single shot, it seems to take up to 2 seconds for the camera to return. Is this normal, is there some setting I am missing? I love this camera and will live with this if I have to but it does seem excessive to me. Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated!
I just got my XH-2 and when I compare it with the XT-5, I found that the XT-5 got the "REC frame indicator" function when it's recording, , however the XH-2 is missing this feature... Hi Chris thanks for such videos. I have an issue. I have XH2 and I am using sigma 56mm lens I tried all the setting - Image- Fine, size-l3:2 however i am still getting images of 9megapixels. Is there something I can do . Firmware is also updates

I’m thinking of getting the xh2s cuz my xt2 needs to go (micro usb port got damaged.) Xh2’s regular usb port was the deciding factor. Should I fix my xt2’s port before getting rid of it? How much did you pay for usb port fix? Best place to sell used/broken cameras? Thanks.

Hey Pal2tech, I need your help! My X-H2S LCD always mirrors the horizontal axis when it’s flipped out in selfie mode (left becomes right, right becomes left) - I understand this was an intended setting and not a glitch for easier selfie composition, but how do I turn off all mirroring, even when the screen is flipped out and upside down?
My Photometry option is greyed out so I can't change it to centre weighted. Does anyone know why it is greyed out please? It has a cat's face next to it for some reason if that helps. What have I done elsewhere on the menu to make this happen please? Many thanks!
I'm just setting up a new XH2 and I upgraded its firmware directly to 3.0 before configuring anything. The AF+MF setting appears to be completely non-functional. I've tried this with all possible AF settings and multiple lenses, and turning the focus ring does exactly nothing when in any AF setting, both in movie and stills mode. MF mode works fine, so it's not the connection to the focus ring. Is there something important I'm missing?
I have a big problem with my FUJIFILM X-H2. I'm trying to transfer my photos to my MacBook Pro. But no matter what I do the Mac is not recognising my camera. I use the usb c cable from my camera (I also tried a usb c cable from apple). What is the problem because it makes me very nervous.
Hi, I have Fuji Xh2 and lens with no aperture ring. I have front and back dials set to ss. and iso, because that's what I change the most often. If I don't devote any of dials to A, how can I change A? Is it possible? Many thanks.
Thanks for your videos . I have an issue with mine , just got it. When I take a picture, I get the "Recording" message on the screen after about 2 seconds , is nuts LOL , Is supposed to playback the image asap. Nice video...this is going to be a great series. My spouse is awaiting the backordered X-H2 to arrive (has an X-H1), so your timing is perfect. One thought regarding a possible video (not just on the xh series)...we are sick of watching people demonstrate "rolling shutter" by panning cameras at ridiculous rates of speed. Yes, rolling shutter exists...BUT it would be so much more practical to demonstrate how to minimize rolling shutter in normal videography (not "pan back and forth so fast that you have to stop watching"). As for stills...yeah, sometimes you just have to use mechanical shutter. Anyway...just a thought for a possible technique video down the road.

On fuji xh2, can you turn off Sub monitor when camera is off? I can't seem to locate the setting to turn off 'always on' when the camera is turned off.
I am trying to find the way how you made the battery percentage to show on the back LCD instead of just the bars. I saw it before, just could not find it now.
Is the only way to stop the jumping or sticking while panning to turn off ibis and lens stabilization? Or is there a particular setting to stop this from occurring?
Just wanted to say thank you for making videos like these. When I first purchased my XT4, I used your video to help me set it up. The settings you recommended were wonderful so I came back to this video when I purchased my XH2. Had a question for you that maybe you could help me with. When I was using my XT4, I noticed that whenever you would completely modify all seven custom presets, there was no way to go back to a default setting unless you reset one of them. So what I would do is I would have six custom settings and then leave one blank if I didn’t want to use a custom “recipe.” Like the XT4, the XH2 has 7 custom user presets you can modify. However, unlike the XT4, it also has the PASM settings in the dial. With this allow me to save seven custom recipes and then utilize the PASM modes for a blank template? Or would I always have to keep one of the custom princess blank like I did on my XT4. I hope that made sense. There are just times that I don’t want to use JPEG’s, and I don’t want to have to take the time to go and delete a setting or reset it if I don’t have to.
This, indeed, WAS helpful. Have had my X-H2 for a week now and getting used to it. Coming from the X-S10 has made it easier. TIP: When making custom settings, use the extremes first. C7 is "birds-in-flight"; C1 is "Street w. face detection" C2 "PORTRAIT = street+eye" (You can copy from one to the other and make changes.) Basically, put your most used custom settings where you can easily REMEMBER where they are.
I began setting up all my cameras using a system Mark Galer (Sony ambassador; see one of his RU-vid presentations for detailed settings) suggested for the first 3 positions: PAL. PAL = Portrait, Action and Landscape, where Portrait is human, AF-S, and Action is the 30-40 fps on the X-H2S. These are now easy to remember. (I set the remaining positions to open gate, 4K/24, 4K/60 and 4K/120.)
I think you should reconsider recommending “AF+MF” to beginners. You say there’s no harm to turning it on but that’s not true. It’s a hair trigger that allows out of focus shots even when you think you should be in eye-detect or subject-detect mode.
How do I turn the sunscreen on top of the camera on? I can turn a light on but no info shows in the screen and I cannot seem to find menu of where to turn it on.
OK, banging my head on the virtual users manual for X-H2, and I cannot find the "manual adapter settings" to adjust the focal length reported in exif data when using a non-linked lens. It seems like it just shows as 21mm (in capture one). I know I've adjusted this in other x cameras, but cannot find it in the X-H2 menus or user manual. Any clues? thanks

I am always grateful for good videos. I'm using Fujifilm for the first time with Canon's X-H2S, and AF is still difficult. In Canon, if you touch the LCD while shooting a video, the focus is re-focused on the touched area, but Fuji does face AF and sets it to Area, and the touch doesn't work? When I can't focus while doing face AF, is there a way to re-capture it with a touch like Canon does?

If you can include the creative features like Multiple/double exposure, focus bracketing, etc. Would be helpful. For eg. In Multiple/double exposure how many modes do we get, number exposures can be set, do we get the Raw file also or only Jpeg files... Cause my XH-1 doesn't gives a Raw file... I think if reviers like you starts including such features Fujifilm shall/might listen and include the same in future cameras/firmware updates. Please consider my request 🙏🙏 God Bless 🙏🙏

I have the new xh2 I have found things that I have not liked… one of them is that you can no longer select speeds less than 60 seconds… it switches to bulb mode… I can't use my 55/200… I continually get error messages that turn off the camera, maybe the peoblem is with the OIS…I have lost images due to writing error having cfexpress… 😢😢…great video !! thank you
Just got my XH2. Strange thing is the camera body makes a pretty hard continuous sound. It started immediately after switching on, and does it with different lenses. Sound is so loud it’s annoying. When perfect horizontal it’s quiet. I think it’s the IBIS, but it’s my first Fuji with IBIS. I already upgraded the software of the body. Same problem. Is this normal? Anyone experiencing the same? In your opinion, what would be the best AF setting for shooting surfers. This camera is phenomenal, but I’d like to be sure I’m using the AF system to its fullest potential. Specifically for photography but I’ll take video tips as well! Thanks!
